There’s a lot that remains unknown about each episode in this season of Doctor Who, even though we have their titles and a few minor specifics.
Indeed, it’s safe to say that one of the episodes is subtly a continuation or follow-up to a previous installment, disguised as a regular episode but actually serving as an unanticipated sequel, according to Russell T Davies’ recent revelations.
In the recently released episode of Doctor Who: Unleashed, Davies shared with Steffan Powell that there are beautiful moments ahead. For instance, next week’s adventure takes us to Miami in 1952. There are exciting events on the horizon, including an unexpected sequel!

As a dedicated fan, I’ve pondered for quite some time whether episode 2, titled ‘The Well’, might serve as a continuation of the captivating events portrayed in season 4’s ‘Midnight’. Although Davies has yet to provide any official clarification on this matter, the intriguing similarities between the two episodes have sparked much speculation among viewers.
In that particular episode, the Tenth Doctor, portrayed by David Tennant, found himself in a precarious situation aboard a spaceship on a diamond-like planet. His mission was to maintain order among the passengers while dealing with a puzzling entity that had taken over one of them, causing her to echo everything spoken by others.
One reason this theory gained traction is that during the opening title sequence, a clock appeared to transition from 11:59 PM to midnight on the visual depiction of “The Well.
Some people have proposed an interesting theory: Since The Well’s narrative focuses on a harsh planetary mining operation, it might actually be a continuation of season 2’s The Impossible Planet/The Satan Pit. This idea arises because Ncuti Gatwa previously expressed his desire for his Doctor to encounter the story’s monster, the Beast.
At present, we can only be patient and observe whether these assumptions bear fruit, or if the next installment turns out to be more like an episode straight from season 15.
