As a seasoned observer of the entertainment world, I must say that the star-studded event of the Wicked premiere left me utterly astounded! The sheer magnitude of talent and charisma assembled under one roof was truly breathtaking.
Michelle Yeoh is proving that blondes have more fun.
The actress, who plays Madame Morrible alongside Cynthia Erivo’s Elphaba and Ariana Grande’s Glinda in Wicked, was seen at the movie’s Los Angeles premiere on November 9th with a freshly cut blonde bob hairstyle.
The award-winning actress matched her fresh hairstyle with a shimmering black Balenciaga dress adorned with a mystical theme to honor her character. She accessorized the ensemble with a multi-layered diamond snake necklace and a diamond ring. As she gleefully shared, it was an unforgettable night for her.
Michelle expressed her eagerness to be present at the event, sharing with Zuri Hall and Justin Sylvester on the red carpet that she was thrilled, despite not having seen the movie yet. She added that her excitement was off the charts, and she couldn’t help but appreciate everyone who attended, making the experience even more special.
In the past, she had worked with Jon M. Chu, and they teamed up again for “Crazy Rich Asians” in 2018. However, this time around, she’s taking on a musical role, which is new territory for her. She admitted to feeling jittery, even saying she felt less anxious about riding a motorcycle on a moving train than singing in front of the camera. Fortunately, her talented cast members helped her navigate through it.
Reminiscing, they said that when Cynthia stood beside them with a reassuring grip on their hand, whispering “You can do this,” the task felt effortless.
She added, “When magic happens there’s no rhyme or reason for it. And it just did.”
As a die-hard fan, I can’t help but echo the sentiments shared by Michelle about the magical environment on the Wicked set! Just like her, Ariana and Cynthia found a special bond during their time in London. Their comfort level with each other truly shone through as they worked together, making the whole experience even more enchanting for all of us fans who couldn’t be there in person!
Ariana shared with the New York Times that one of her favorite aspects of the experience was growing closer to Cynthia,” Ariana said. “I felt supported and like I had a companion at every turn. I’m really proud of us for how sincerely we looked out for each other during this entire journey.
Meanwhile, Cynthia went so far as to say that working with Ariana was life-changing.
Cynthia told me she’s been helping guide me in navigating the chaotic journey of success, which I’ve tasted before but is now taking on a new form. She’s been there every step of the way, sharing my enthusiasm and ambition for it just as strongly.
Behind the scenes during the filming of “Wicked”, the cast’s dynamics were undeniably friendly and pleasant. However, when they walked the red carpet for the premiere, their appearances were truly captivating. Continue reading to discover who made a memorable entrance at the event.
