Could you tell me where we might find those monkey’s paws, pal? With some speculation among the gaming community, it’s possible that the reported SEGA characters in Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds could be additional content released after the game’s launch, as downloadable content (DLC).

As an enthusiastic fan, I stumbled upon an unexpected find during a recent visit to the official website: I managed to sneak in while it was undergoing maintenance, and uncovered some text that hadn’t been meant for public viewing just yet. What a thrill!

As a gamer, I’m excited to share that the game will have 23 characters at its launch, with even more on the horizon! The Digital Deluxe Edition offers a DLC Season Pass and playable Sonic Prime characters as enticing extras, not forgetting the early access that’s become almost standard now.

It’s been speculated that the starting team of 23 characters in this game might predominantly feature both heroes and villains from the Sonic universe. This could imply that the broader SEGA characters hinted at earlier may be saved for potential downloadable content (DLC).

By the way, it appears that there will be 24 primary tracks available at launch, along with 15 CrossWorlds. Additionally, a total of 43 vehicles will be included, which includes Extreme Gear boards.

We truly enjoy the Sonic kart racing games, with a special affection for Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed. This is due to our appreciation of the gameplay, similar to that found in Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds, and our enjoyment of the diverse cast of characters.

There’s optimism that SEGA’s latest racing game might not solely feature characters from the Sonic universe. Instead, it could potentially include a wider range of characters as well.

As a dedicated gamer, I’m excitedly scribbling down my thoughts on this latest tidbit from the PlayStation Blog. It seems our friends at SEGA are subtly hinting at an upcoming roster featuring some of the most legendary characters from the Sonic and SEGA universe!

This hints at the possibility that, in addition to the characters we’ve already been informed about – such as Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, Shadow, Amy, Eggman, and Jet – there may also be characters like Ulala, Amigo, and potentially even Kazuma Kiryu. However, Danica Patrick might not be among them!

The game is visually stunning, with CrossWorlds adding an ingenious twist to the action. In essence, by Lap 2, the person in the lead gets to choose a Travel Ring to pass through, which completely alters the level. Some of these tracks will change from standard go-karts to water and aircraft vehicles.

This year, you’ll have the opportunity to learn and master an initial release of the game through a Closed Network Test, available on both PS5 and PS4. We’re really excited to give it a try ourselves!
