A post on their Instagram account, spotted by ResetEra user Bishop89, showcases the team collaborating and peering at a screen with a blurred image, possibly hinting at a sneak peek of their upcoming project.
From the somewhat hazy image, it appears that the upcoming project may feature a brighter color scheme compared to Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2. The latter predominantly utilized somber, gloomy tones to effectively convey its intense themes and bloody narrative.
The publication of this image has sparked conjecture among the Instagram post’s commenters, as fans of the studio are discussing potential meanings behind the teaser image. Some speculate it could hint at a revival of Ninja Theory’s classic action-adventure games such as Heavenly Sword and Enslaved: Odyssey to the West. Others have even proposed more far-fetched theories, like a sequel to 2013’s DmC: Devil May Cry, which introduced a fresh take on Capcom’s combat franchise.
It’s worth mentioning that just as Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 was about to be released, whispers began spreading about Ninja Theory’s next project having already received the go-ahead. However, neither Ninja Theory nor Microsoft have officially confirmed this yet.
For now, whispers suggest that the studio may additionally be transferring Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 to the PS5. Previously released on PC and Xbox Series X/S, this game could potentially follow titles like Sea of Thieves and Indiana Jones and the Great Circle in broadening its fanbase by appearing on Sony’s platform as well.
Apart from Ninja Theory’s ongoing projects, they are rumored to be developing another game called “Project: MARA.” This upcoming title is said to be a chilling experimental horror game that focuses on creating photorealistic visuals and a realistic portrayal of mental anguish. Since 2021, no fresh details regarding “Project: MARA” have been disclosed.
