As an over-the-moon fanboy, I couldn’t help but share the heartfelt accolades that Alexis Ohanian bestowed upon my queen after her electrifying performance at the Super Bowl Halftime Show.
Following the short appearance of Serena Williams alongside Kendrick Lamar at the Caesar’s Superdome in New Orleans, her spouse took to Twitter on February 9th to express his personal opinion: “Absolutely amazing half-time show.
In a significant turn of events, the Grand Slam champion was spotted dancing at the halftime show performed by another Californian native, making it an unforgettable occasion for both parties.
Serena, who is the mother of Alexis Olympia, aged 7, and Adira, 16 months with a tech entrepreneur, made an appearance during Kendrick’s song “Not Like Us,” which is essentially a response to Drake. In this performance, she was seen dancing in a blue tennis outfit that resembled a skirt set.
After her guest appearance, the tennis ace (allegedly romantically linked with Drake) rejoiced over her field performance in 2015.
Here’s my take:
“Count me in for the Super Bowl Halftime, I’m absolutely thrilled just thinking about it! I can hardly contain my excitement as I imagine being there – snapshots and all! It’s like a dream come true that almost took my breath away!
In the video, she jokingly remarked about her Crip Walk dance, which she famously performed during her Olympic and Wimbledon victories, saying, “Actually, I didn’t do the Crip Walk like that at Wimbledon. I would have been penalized for it!
Before stepping onto the stage, Serena had made light of the ongoing feud between Kendrick and Drake – a conflict that eventually led to Drake filing a lawsuit against their shared label, Universal Music Group.
At the 2024 ESPY Awards in July, she declared: “From this year’s lessons, it’s clear that no one, not a soul among us, including me, should engage in a dispute with Kendrick Lamar. His hometown won’t favor you if you cross him. The next time Drake attends a Raptors game, they might give him the Forrest Gump treatment – no seat for him.
In case you missed it, Kendrick Lamar, fresh from winning five Grammys for his diss track, became the first solo hip-hop artist to headline the Super Bowl Half-time Show. During the show, he performed some of his most popular songs like “Squabble Up,” “Humble,” and “DNA.” He also had special guests on stage; his long-term collaborator SZA, and actor Samuel L. Jackson, who portrayed “Uncle Sam” throughout the performance, offering commentary.
