Nacon and creā-ture Studios unveiled their 2025 plan for “Session: Skate Sim,” which features three significant free updates altering the gameplay, plus new paid DLC introducing a fresh skateboarding location to the simulator. Notably, players won’t have to endure a long wait to explore the game’s third-year offerings since its official release in September 2022.
In the 2025 plan for the game “Skate Sim” (referred to as ‘Session’), there are three significant updates lined up: Foundation, Flow, and Skate Core. Each of these updates is designed to enhance the game’s realistic gameplay based on community feedback. This includes refining certain tricks, improving physics animations, and adding new social features. The update called ‘Flow’ will introduce a fresh location as downloadable content (DLC) for purchase. At this point, it remains unclear whether this DLC will only offer a new map, like the most recent Prague map DLC, or if it will be similar to the Waterpark DLC, which provided not just a new map but also a playable skater and skateboards.
Here is a brief summary of each update as listed by the roadmap:
- Foundation Update (Early Summer)
- Improved Fluidity
- Camera Re-Factor
- Physical Animation Update
- Flow & Friction (1st Pass)
- Flow Update (End of Summer)
- Reworked Powerslides & Reverts
- Goofy Stance
- Flow & Friction Pass
- New DLC
- Skate Core Update (Autumn)
- Skate Core Overhaul
- In-Game Social Features
Among all these updates, one particularly anticipated addition is the introduction of the goofy stance in skating. For those unfamiliar, a skater adopts goofy stance when their right foot is at the front and left at the back of the board while moving forward. Despite its apparent simplicity, this feature has been missing from Session: Skate Sim since its initial release.
The latest trailer offers a glimpse into the forthcoming enhancements of Session: Skate Sim. The video appears to hint at additional skaters or brands set to join the game, as there are three mysterious black markings on the screen that lists the playable pros and brands. These marks could simply be for stylistic reasons, but they only appear on this specific screen. This may suggest more players or brands will soon be added to the game. Furthermore, the video mentions further information will be shared on June 3rd, so we might learn more about this intriguing hint then.
The “Skate Sim” game is currently accessible on Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store. Players can acquire additional content with the Year 1 and Year 2 Packs, offering a grand total of seven maps, Chris Cole as a playable character, items for the Object Dropper, and unique outfits and boards. Normally priced at $39.99, it frequently goes on sale. In fact, you can grab it now with a 70% discount on Steam!
