Players discovering that certain locations are absent in S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl speculate these omissions could be tied to forthcoming expansion packs.
Potential locations for STALKER 2 DLCs
The conversation about the game began on Reddit, with one participant sharing a map from the game that highlighted in red the parts of the world that were absent or unreachable. There are several such areas marked, including the second part of Pripyat, Limansk city, and the Chornobyl Nuclear Power Plant (CNPP), among others. Another user pointed out that the map doesn’t show a location located south of the Duga region.
It appears another player has proposed that these sections could possibly be set aside for future downloadable content (DLC), given the logic behind this assumption. Since the season pass description mentions two substantial story add-ons, it’s reasonable to expect additional content.
As a dedicated fan, I stumbled upon an intriguing piece of info shared by another user. They claimed to have obtained a map, allegedly leaked from the developers on the Russian platform VK. The map hinted at missing areas, complete with their names: “DLC: The Liman Secret,” “DLC: Cold Island,” and “DLC: Sand Plateau.” Whether this source is trustworthy or not remains uncertain, but it’s exciting to speculate that future expansions might take us on adventures to these mysterious locales.
You can play S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl on PC and Xbox Series X/S, but at this point, it isn’t scheduled for release on PlayStation 5 by GSC Game World. The game is also accessible through the Game Pass subscription.
