As a seasoned gamer with over two decades under my belt, I’ve seen the rise and fall of many beloved studios. Mimimi Games was one such studio that left an indelible mark on my tactical stealth gaming experience. The closure of the studio was indeed a bitter pill to swallow, but the announcement of Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun – Aiko’s Choice console debut has certainly brought a smile back to my face.

Massive forex volatility expected — crucial trading alert issued!
View Urgent ForecastAs a diehard fan of tactical stealth games like Shadow Tactics, Desperados 3, and Shadow Gambit: The Cursed Crew, I was taken aback when Mimimi Games, the mastermind behind these beloved titles, announced its sudden shutdown last year. But fear not, fellow gamers, as there’s a silver lining on the horizon for us! Although the studio has closed its doors, enthusiasts of their unique real-time stealth gaming experience have reasons to be optimistic about the future.
The independent expansion “Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun – Aiko’s Choice” was launched for PC systems in December of last year, featuring additional missions, settings, and other content. In a few days, it will also arrive on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S consoles. The publisher Daedalic Entertainment has confirmed that “Aiko’s Choice” will be available on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S starting December 6, marking the third anniversary of its initial PC release. Pre-orders are currently being accepted. You can watch the announcement trailer below.
In our initial evaluation following its debut, we gave it an 8 out of 10, stating, “Aiko’s Choice” disregards criticism of the main game completely and solely caters to fans by offering a more immersive take on its themes.” You can read the complete review here.
Instead of Shadow Tactics, Aiko’s Choice is not playable on PS4 and Xbox One platforms yet, but there’s a possibility that its publishers, Daedalic Entertainment, might make it available on these consoles at a later date.
