As a lifelong fan of Sonic the Hedgehog, I can’t help but feel a surge of excitement when I see my favorite rival, Shadow, taking center stage again! The announcement of his new manga series is just the cherry on top of an already thrilling year for Shadow fans.
In a significant development for fans of Sonic the Hedgehog, it’s been announced that Shadow, Sonic’s long-standing adversary, is set to star in his own manga series. Over the years, Shadow has become one of the key characters in SEGA’s extended Sonic the Hedgehog universe, appearing in various games, spinoffs, TV specials and more. With the upcoming release of Sonic x Shadow Generations this Fall, Shadow is poised to make a grand return. Interestingly, the launch of this new game will also mark Shadow’s debut in the world of manga!
The popular video game character, Shadow the Hedgehog, has been announced to debut as a new manga series in Shogakukan’s Monthly Coro Coro Comics, starting on September 13th. This exciting project is being handled by Yuki Imada, the artist behind Mini4King. A sneak peek at the Shadow the Hedgehog manga has been unveiled by Coro Coro, giving fans a glimpse of Shadow in a tense mood. What’s Next for Shadow the Hedgehog?
On September 13th, Japan will see the release of Shadow the Hedgehog, but international launch details remain undisclosed at this time. Additionally, the duration of the new manga series is yet to be determined, though it’s set to debut alongside the upcoming game that puts Shadow in the limelight. The crossover title Sonic x Shadow Generations is slated for release on October 25th across various platforms including PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC. This version offers some fresh levels specifically designed for Shadow, in addition to the initial levels from the original Sonic Generations launch.
From my perspective, as a die-hard Sonic fan, I can’t wait to dive into the latest installment of the everlasting Sonic the Hedgehog series. Sega is building up the new Sonic and Shadow game with an exciting announcement: “Shadow the Hedgehog returns in SONIC X SHADOW GENERATIONS, a fresh compilation offering two distinct adventures!
