Shakira Concertgoers Face Measles Scare After Recent MetLife Stadium Performance!

Measles outbreaks can happen whenever, wherever.

On May 20th, the New Jersey Department of Health warned that individuals who attended Shakira’s concert at MetLife Stadium near New York City in East Rutherford on May 15th might have come into contact with measles.

Authorities have warned the public about a fresh case of measles, mentioning in a statement that an individual from outside New Jersey attended the concert while contagious. They advise people to keep an eye out for symptoms associated with this extremely infectious virus and ensure they are current on their vaccinations.

The New Jersey Department of Health advised that people who attended the concert by the artist known for the hit song “Hips Don’t Lie,” might have come into contact with measles. They recommended that anyone who thinks they may have been affected or are feeling unwell should contact their healthcare provider before visiting a medical office in person.

I’ve attempted to reach out to Shakira, MetLife Stadium, and Live Nation for their comments, but I haven’t received any replies as of now.

Authorities pointed out that common signs of measles often involve a cough, high temperature, and a rash which typically emerges within the range of three to five days following the onset of symptoms. Moreover, they warned that individuals who might have been exposed could display symptoms as late as June 6th, 2025, if they become infected.

To put it simply, according to the New Jersey Department of Health, no further related cases have been found in New Jersey.

At Shakira’s recent concert, there is a possibility of a measles outbreak. This threat arises several months following an incident where she had to postpone a show in Peru in February, due to her hospitalization at that time.

The artist, known as the “Beautiful Liar”, shared on Instagram that unfortunately she had to visit the ER due to an abdominal problem last night. Her doctors have now informed her that her current health condition is not sufficient to deliver a performance tonight.

Shakira, mother of sons Milan (12) and Sasha (10) alongside ex-partner Gerard Piqué, expressed sadness about not performing that evening. She mentioned her eagerness to reconnect with her fantastic fans in Peru.

In the same month, Shakira was accompanied by her sons at the 2025 Grammys held in Los Angeles. Here, she pondered over her personal and career growth.

Shakira shared with TopMob News that she has experienced significant personal growth. She’s picked up numerous valuable lessons along the way. Life hasn’t always been easy on her, but it has served as an excellent educator.

In an announcement made in April 2025, the former star of “Beverly Hills, 90210” shared that he was on a healing journey following a surgery, as his appendix had come close to rupturing.

A week ago, Brian mentioned in an Instagram post that he’d been experiencing discomfort in his abdomen. He eventually visited the hospital due to this issue, which turned out to be a nearly-burst appendix.

He added, “I’m on the road to recovery. It’s not an easy process. This is my first major surgery.”

Adam Devine revealed that the injuries he suffered from being struck by a cement truck at age 11 continue to impact him up until now.

In an episode of the “In Depth With Graham Bensinger” podcast in 2025, Devine expressed that it had been a truly harrowing experience for him. He explained that he has been experiencing spasms everywhere, and not too long ago, his doctors informed him that death was imminent – specifically within the past year.

He observed that pain can be intermittent, also mentioning that his body sometimes functions irregularly or is slightly out of alignment.

Previously part of Bachelor Nation, this individual divulged that he had to visit the hospital by crawling on hands and knees because of intense back pain, which worsened during a recreational vehicle journey with a companion.

Currently, my toes to knees area is still prickling, which is quite surprising,” he remarked in the March 2025 episode of his Trading Secrets podcast. “To give you an idea, let me clarify, not trying to come off as boastful, but around two or three weeks ago, possibly a month ago, I was probably squatting 295 pounds. Now, I can’t do a squat even on one foot. I can’t manage a single-legged squat; if I try, I’d topple over. It’s like I had a minor stroke or something.

But with the help of a back specialist and some steroids, he added, “We’re on the mend.”

In a game held in December 2024, an AHL player got hurt when another player’s skate accidentally sliced him open. Consequently, he required 25 stitches to heal the wound. Later, when his father, who serves as the general manager for the New Jersey Devils (Tom Fitzgerald), spoke with ESPN after his son had fully recovered, he expressed gratitude by saying, “We’re incredibly fortunate. I wouldn’t wish that experience on any parent.

Back in March 2025, Gina Kirschenheiter from The Real Housewives of Orange County revealed that her former spouse, Matt Kirschenheiter, experienced a heart attack. However, fortunately for all involved, he made it through this challenging incident.

30 Rock’s main actor experienced a health emergency during a New York Knicks basketball match in March 2025, resulting in his removal from Madison Square Garden in a stretcher.

On the next day, the comedian posted an update on social media, explaining it was due to food poisoning and he was recovering well.

In February 2025, the former star of Even Stevens disclosed that she had been accidentally shot in the face during a trip to celebrate her husband Brendan Rooney’s birthday by shooting clay pigeons.

In her Instagram post, she described an incident where another person at the gathering carelessly discharged a weapon incorrectly, striking her in the face. Almost instantly, @thebrendanrooney responded, evaluated my condition, and urgently transported me to the hospital. I was wounded in five spots, one of which was just shy of hitting my right eye directly.

The former star of “Kim Possible” went on to say, “Regrettably, a piece became stuck at the back of my eye, and it’s not safe to take out surgically right now. My doctors are keeping a close watch on me (for now, I can see clearly).

In her own words, the actress expressed her deep gratitude for simply being alive. She shared a heartfelt sentiment about her loved ones, saying, “My daughters, husband, family, and friends mean the world to me.” Recalling a moment where she felt her life might end suddenly, she emphasized the importance of cherishing every opportunity to embrace those around us. In her words, “Life is fragile; seize any moment you can to hug the people close to you. Life can change in the blink of an eye.

Although the internet isn’t always friendly, Amy Schumer is grateful that it provided her with answers during this situation. In an episode of Call Her Daddy in January 2025, she reminisced about facing criticism after multiple interviews, saying, “Everybody, calm down,” but then doctors began commenting and suggested she might have Cushing syndrome due to unusual facial changes. Surprised by the medical community’s scrutiny, Amy questioned, “Am I being trolled by doctors?”

After receiving comments from doctors who suspected Cushing syndrome, possibly caused by spiking cortisol levels or steroid injections, Amy realized, “I had been getting steroid injections for my scars.” The Life & Beth creator then connected the dots, realizing that these injections had led to her developing Cushing syndrome.

As she explained, “I’ve been receiving steroid injections following a breast reduction and a C-section. So it was the internet’s harsh criticism that eventually helped me identify this health issue.” Now, Amy is relieved to know that she’s okay and shared in a February 2024 News Not Noise newsletter that discovering she had a type of Cushing syndrome that would naturally resolve itself was the best possible news.

Hailey Bieber experienced a terrifying incident in March 2022 during breakfast with her husband Justin Bieber when she began exhibiting symptoms similar to a stroke. As she recounted on YouTube a month later, she struggled to respond when asked if she was alright and eventually couldn’t speak. Her right side of the face drooped, and she found it difficult to form sentences.

Alarmed, Justin inquired again about Hailey’s well-being, but she still couldn’t respond. The medical issue resolved itself, and her speech returned, but she was taken to the hospital for a checkup. There, they discovered that she had experienced a Transient Ischemic Attack (TIA) due to a small blood clot in her brain.

Upon further investigation at the University of California, Los Angeles, doctors found a hole in Hailey’s heart called a patent foramen ovale (PFO). The blood clot had traveled into her heart, escaped through the hole, and moved to her brain, leading to the TIA.

Hailey underwent a successful PFO closure procedure and reported feeling well since then.

In the same year as Hailey’s health scare, Justin also faced one of his own. Specifically, in June 2022, the “Baby” singer disclosed that he had been diagnosed with Ramsay Hunt syndrome. This condition led to temporary paralysis in parts of his face, causing him to postpone the rest of his Justice World Tour. Justin described the condition as a virus attacking the nerve in his ear and facial nerves, resulting in full paralysis on one side of his face. He could not blink or smile from that side, and the nostril on that side would not move. As he explained, it became increasingly difficult for him to eat, but eventually, the paralysis subsided. Hailey shared on a June 2022 episode of Good Morning America that Justin was doing well and recovering, expressing her relief and gratitude that he was fine in the end.

Jamie Foxx initially chose to keep his April 2023 hospitalization a private matter, but later shared his experiences. In Atlanta one day, he recalled saying to a friend, “I need an aspirin,” but before he could get it, he passed out and lost consciousness for about 20 days.

Initially examined by a doctor who administered a cortisone shot and sent him home, Foxx’s concerned sister, Deidra Dixon, took him to another hospital where they discovered the cause: a brain bleed leading to a stroke. Following a surgery on the 20th day, Foxx awoke in a wheelchair on May 4 unable to walk. He then traveled to Chicago for rehabilitation and therapy.

“I am grateful for every prayer,” he said, “as I needed every one of them.

Emilia Clarke, famous for her role in Game of Thrones, penned an essay titled “A Battle for My Life” in 2019, detailing her personal ordeal. In the gym one day, she was struck with a severe headache that led to vomiting and increasing pain. She feared her brain was damaged.

Rushed to the hospital for a scan, she received a grim diagnosis: a subarachnoid hemorrhage, a life-threatening type of stroke caused by bleeding in the brain. She had suffered an aneurysm, a rupture in an artery.

The actress underwent immediate surgery to seal the aneurysm, describing the pain as unbearable. During her recovery, she struggled with aphasia and spoke incoherently.

A week later, the aphasia subsided, and she was discharged from the hospital after a month. However, a 2013 brain scan revealed the growth had doubled in size, requiring another operation.

“When they woke me,” she wrote, “I was screaming in pain. The procedure had failed. I had a massive bleed and the doctors made it clear that my chances of survival were precarious if they didn’t operate again. This time, they needed to access my brain through my skull.”

Fortunately, Emilia is now reportedly in perfect health.

Cori Broadus, Snoop Dogg’s daughter, expresses her gratitude towards her family. This is because when she experienced a severe stroke in January 2024, they were quick to support her. In December of the same year, she shared with TopMob News correspondent Will Marfuggi that she informed them about the stroke and sent them a picture. Everyone rallied to help her.

Due to other health issues, Cori’s hospital stay was longer than anticipated. She mentioned, “I could have gone home after my stroke, but my lupus wasn’t doing so well. My kidneys were failing. There was a lot happening.”

Currently, Cori is recovering well. She stated, “I’m doing great. I just had to regain some motor skills, but other than that, I was fine.

In her twenties, the health of Shailene Woodley was challenging. She faced issues such as losing her hearing, experiencing fatigue after short walks, and stomach problems with almost every meal. This complex set of health concerns left her seeking various diagnoses from different doctors.

To find answers and relief, Shailene—a holistic enthusiast who studies herbalism—decided to consult both traditional medical professionals (MDs) and alternative healers. It was a difficult decade-long journey that led to additional challenges such as fear of food due to stomach discomfort, body dysmorphia, confusion about identity, and feelings of insecurity in her own skin.

Thankfully, after focusing on both her physical and mental well-being, Shailene is now healthy once again. She expressed gratitude for the journey, stating that she’s happy to say that she’s in good health.
