Shakira Hospitalized: Concert Canceled Due to Abdominal Issue

Due to an unexpected health problem related to her abdomen, Shakira was compelled to call off one of her performances in Peru.

The renowned performer had planned to give a concert in the capital city as part of her global tour, but instead shared disappointing news with fans on Instagram, revealing that she had been admitted to the hospital.

The singer shared that unfortunately, they had to visit the emergency room due to an abdominal problem last night and are now admitted to the hospital.

The medical professionals taking care of me have informed me that my current state isn’t strong enough for tonight’s performance.

I’m really disappointed that I can’t perform today. I’ve been eagerly anticipating reconnecting with my fantastic fans here in Peru.

She expressed her aspiration to be “free and healthy the day after tomorrow,” allowing her to carry on with her tour. She also reassured her audience that arrangements are being made by her team for a rescheduled performance.

“Thank you all for understanding, I love you all,” she concluded the statement.

The show you’re referring to is a stop on an 11-day concert tour through Latin America. The artist has previously performed in Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo, Brazil, just last week.

Her other tour stops include shows in Colombia, Chile, Argentina and Mexico.

Two weeks past, the artist was awarded the Grammy for Best Latin Pop Album (Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran), a victory she dedicated to “all my fellow immigrants in this nation”.
