Shakira’s Onstage Fall: Watch the Shocking Moment from Her Montreal Concert!

Shakira is shaking off a recent concert mishap.

During a performance on her “Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran” tour in Montreal, Canada, the performer known for singing “Waka Waka” had an unplanned change in her routine due to a fall on stage.

On May 20th, over on X (previously Twitter), I came across a video of a dedicated artist, who’s 48 years young, performing her iconic single “Whenever, Wherever” from 2001. In that performance, it seemed like she took a bit of a stumble during the dance, but remarkably, she managed to break her fall and was back on her feet in no time, seamlessly continuing with the number without missing a beat.

Shakira, mother to Milan (12) and Sasha (10), both born to her with ex Gerard Piqué, seemed unfazed by an apparent mishap as she later reposted a video of the incident on her Instagram Stories (a now-expired post). A recording of this post was shared on X. Underneath the video, she wrote in Spanish, “Nobody is safe from falls!” This translates to, “Even the best of us can’t avoid falls!” or “We all stumble sometimes!

Ever since launching her world tour in Brazil back in February, Shakira has faced several unforeseen obstacles such as being compelled to scrap a performance in Peru due to an illness.

She regretfully shared that she ended up at the emergency room due to a stomach problem late last night, as reported by her attending physicians. Unfortunately, they’ve determined that her health isn’t stable enough to carry out tonight’s plans.

The concert has since been rescheduled for Nov. 15.

Following Shakira’s concert in East Rutherford, New Jersey earlier this month, the New Jersey Department of Health has announced a new case of measles among a non-resident who attended the show while infectious. The department advises the public to be vigilant about the symptoms of this highly contagious virus and to make sure their vaccinations are current.
