Shaun Evans has been accustomed to appearing on screen, with his notable performances as captain in Endeavour and more recently in Until I Kill You.
Currently, Evans is returning to the director’s chair for the latest season of The Bay. Previously, he has helmed episodes for shows like Casualty and Endeavour, but this time around, he’s directing the opening trio of episodes in the new fifth season of The Bay.
It seems more heartfelt since she’s part of the family, rather than posing direct questions, she’s learning about them and the victim in a much more emotionally focused manner instead.
“I found the character being a woman and her actions quite alluring. Plus, it was delightful to return to the northern region and work there as well.”
This version retains the original meaning while using more natural, conversational language.

He expressed: “In summary, considering everything together, I felt ‘This is something I truly want to be part of.’ Additionally, I recognized the performers from the series, even though we hadn’t crossed paths before, and I appreciated their talent. Moreover, I admired Daragh [Carville] as a writer, which added to my desire to join in.
As I found myself stepping into the director’s chair for The Bay, some may have wondered if my acting background played a role in my on-screen presence. To clarify, having recently wrapped up an incredibly demanding acting project, it was nothing short of refreshing to engage a different facet of my creative self.
I really enjoy observing the screen as the team performs, and it’s thrilling to have the opportunity to jump in and contribute an idea or two. Watching these moments unfold is truly fulfilling.
Besides being recognized for his roles in Vigil and preparing to take on the spy thriller Betrayal, Evans expresses his aspirations to become both an actor and director down the line. As he put it, “If I can manage both acting and directing, then yes, I’d love to have a hand in both.
