As a seasoned movie critic with a penchant for digging beneath the surface of popular culture, I must say that my initial skepticism about Taylor Swift was clearly misplaced. Having recently binged on documentaries like “Miss Americana,” “The Long Pond Studio Sessions,” and “Untold: The Rise and Rise of Taylor Swift,” I’ve come to appreciate the depth and complexity of this global phenomenon.

Consider adding “Untold: The Rise and Rise of Taylor Swift,” “Miss Americana,” “The Long Pond Studio Sessions,” or even “The Eras Tour” to your list of shows or documentaries you plan on watching.

I’ve only recently hopped on the Taylor Swift bandwagon. When I saw the military band playing her song “Shake It Off” at Buckingham Palace during her “Eras” tour, I wondered what all the fuss was about. I thought she just writes sad songs based on her famous past relationships.

Surprisingly, the situation has escalated quite a bit. Recently, a friend accompanied his daughter to a concert in Edinburgh, only for her to spend two years’ worth of pocket money on a single hoodie. Another shelled out big bucks for VIP seats – all the way in Portugal! Now that Taylor Swift is wrapping up her London tour with five nights at Wembley Stadium, there’s chatter about the economic impact she’s having on Britain, stories about her friendship bracelets stretching to reach the moon, and even speculation that the Bank of England is postponing an interest rate adjustment until she leaves. So, I find myself pondering once more, what exactly is going on here?

As someone who has spent countless hours immersed in the world of music, I find myself deeply captivated by the Netflix documentary “Miss Americana.” Having followed Taylor Swift’s career since her early days as a country singer, I was intrigued to delve deeper into her life and creative process.

Her storytelling is her unique thing, and it’s made her the first female billionaire through music alone

As a dedicated fan, I’m thrilled to share that from the cozy comfort of my home, I can stream the Eras concert on Disney+. For those of us eager to delve deeper into her creative process, Disney has also released The Long Pond Studio Sessions, where Taylor Swift collaborates with two musicians in a barn to record the heartfelt album, Folklore.

Channel 4 explores the ripples caused by Taylor Swift’s presence in the entertainment world, similar to how people reacted to the turn of the millennium. Even though nothing groundbreaking actually happened, the fact that so many people held it in such high regard, made significant decisions based on it, was noteworthy in itself. In Channel 4’s Untold: The Rise and Rise of Taylor Swift, we encounter devoted fans, some of whom talk about her constantly or think about her all the time. One fan is even 27 years old! Yet, this isn’t unusual; another fan underwent an MRI that showed a surge in emotional and visual neurons when listening to their favorite artist. The results were as bright as a Christmas tree being lit up or, as one scholar describes it, “They illuminate like a Christmas tree.”

Contemplate this: What if some politicians, or even worse, had the ability to encapsulate that. Thankfully, Swift enlightens us in the Netflix documentary, stating, “My entire moral compass is driven by the desire to be perceived as good. To make the right choices.” We observe this through her charitable donations to UK food banks and her compassionate response to the devastating incident in Southport last month. In summary, there are certainly far more questionable ways for your friend’s daughter to use her allowance.
