Shia LaBeouf Blasts Alec Baldwin’s “Weak Ego” Sparked Bitter 2013 Stage Feud

Shia LaBeouf is remembering a time when he was filled with fury.

More recently, the former cast member of Transformers shared his thoughts about an arduous encounter he had with Alec Baldwin, whom he collaborated with on a stage production in 2013. This was after Alec Baldwin stepped in for Al Pacino in the TV show “30 Rock.

Shia confessed that his extensive preparations prior to co-starring with Alec in the stage production, along with his concerns about being perceived as a legitimate actor, created a challenging base for their professional partnership.

In the interview with The Hollywood Reporter, published on May 8, the 38-year-old expressed that by the time Baldwin arrived, it felt almost unjust. He was juggling his fragile ego and the intense preparation he’d done for two years, coupled with an urgent desire to prove himself to Baldwin or gain his acceptance. The insecurity was overwhelming.

Shia remembered that they had difficulty getting along, explaining, “Things became quite tense in the conversation.

He added, “Then he got competitive.”

Shia, who is set to face court in September over a lawsuit by his ex-girlfriend FKA Twigs regarding charges of sexual assault and emotional distress (which he denies), also commented that their contrasting work methods contributed to the friction between them and Alec.

The actor from “Honey Boy” clarified that he was “winging it,” while the other actor was following a script. This made it challenging for them to perform or stage these scenes. However, he emphasized that this wasn’t the other actor’s fault because Al Pacino had dropped out at the last minute and only gave him two weeks notice.

He went on to say, “The entire project was founded on my bond with Pacino. However, that connection is no more. So, I was quite sad about it.

In a conversation with the media, Shia expressed that he and another person share a strong bond because they’ve both faced difficult times. “We’ve been through our fair share,” he said. “We’ve managed to exchange love and resolve any issues before things escalated on either side.
