SHINONOME ABYSS: The Maiden Exorcist delayed to 2025

As a seasoned gamer with a penchant for the eerie and the challenging, I can hardly contain my excitement for the delayed release of SHINONOME ABYSS: The Maiden Exorcist! Having spent countless hours navigating through haunted houses in various games, I feel like I’ve honed my skills to a razor’s edge.

The companies Kadokawa Corporation, Kadokawa Game Linkage, ABC ANIMATION, and developer WODAN have moved the release date of their roguelike horror action game “SHINONOME ABYSS: The Maiden Exorcist” from its fall 2024 window to 2025. Players will be able to get their hands on it for both Switch and PC through Steam.

Here is an overview of the game, via its Steam page:

About

In this chilling strategy role-playing game, the protagonist is Yono, a shrine maiden, navigating through haunted abodes teeming with Mononoke (supernatural beings and vengeful spirits). She must survive by utilizing a limited assortment of tools and traps in her battle against these horrors.

As an enthusiast, I embark on an exhilarating journey: the Shrine Maiden Yono confronts the daunting task of escaping from a multitude of haunted houses, all wrapped up in a roguelike experience!

In the wake of her vanished Onmyouji brother, the shrine maiden Yono journeys to a chilling realm inhabited by Mononoke and other malevolent spirits. The mansion’s layout morphs with each visit. The game offers three distinct modes: “Harai,” “Misogi,” and “Gyou,” with “Gyou” being the most challenging, where players strive to outlast each other in an unending labyrinth.

The objective here is to successfully exit the spooky mansion while vanquishing the Yokai, utilizing all the concealed traps and gadgets inside the house effectively!

As a dedicated fan, I immerse myself in the captivating world of Mononoke by carefully listening for unusual noises and spotting subtle signs of their presence in the next room. By observing their behavior and traces they leave behind, I attempt to decipher their unique fighting styles.

Various Elements Have Been Greatly Improved from the Previous Game!

This updated version of the game showcases notable enhancements compared to its predecessor, Shinonome. You’ll notice an increase in the number of Mononoke, traps, items, dungeons, and a colossal boss. A fresh element is the introduction of Yono’s other persona. To improve playability based on player feedback from the last game, adjustments have been made to the game content itself.
