Right from the start, Paradise has proven to be an enigma, and as we approach the eighth and concluding episode, it seems that the risks are escalating significantly and there are numerous unanswered queries lingering.
In just a week, we’re expecting some revelations (fingers crossed), and series leads Julianne Nicholson and James Marsden have hinted that the final episode will take viewers by surprise – it’s not what fans are anticipating!
Dan concludes the narrative in such a manner that it feels like a well-rounded ending, leaving a feeling of fulfillment.
She expressed: “Indeed, we discover who murders the president, quite unexpectedly. However, fresh enigmas and intrigue follow suit, leaving me feeling like a spectator when reading the scripts. In truth, I entered each episode knowing nothing, and by the end, I’d be left astounded because I hadn’t anticipated any of it.

In a similar fashion, Marsden remarked, “I was completely taken aback, and I must hand it to Dan Fogleman for his skillful deception.
However, sharing this tale became thrilling for me as well, since I felt compelled – I believe – to maintain the suspense and intrigue that characterize such performances. The joy lies in captivating the audience with unexpected turns throughout the narrative.
“Sort of extra,” Nicholson added.
Marsden added: “Indeed, ‘supplementary’ seems fitting for those additional, enjoyable aspects.
Through its previous episodes, we’ve noticed how things have become increasingly unsettling since the President’s assassination. Initially, it seemed like a straightforward murder investigation, but as it turns out, the suspects reside within an underground city that was built post-climate catastrophe, giving the plot a much darker and sinister twist.
Regardless, it’s still unclear who murdered the President, as the focus of suspicion continues to fall upon everyone, given that the animosity between Xavier (played by Sterling K Brown) and Sinatra (portrayed by Nicholson) has never been greater.
Written by Dan Fogleman, the well-known creator of This Is Us, the series doesn’t hold back when it comes to character-centric storylines but also delivers action. Xavier is determined to uncover the truth behind what occurred and the secrets buried in this portrayal of ‘paradise’.
She added: “It’s intriguing indeed, as you point out, that our perception often places the commander-in-chief at the highest rank. What Dan delves into, however, is a fascinating aspect of their shared past.
Samantha has a long-standing relationship with Kane, who is Cal’s father. In fact, Kane served as one of Samantha’s mentors throughout her life. It was enjoyable to witness scenes depicting their past interactions and then observe where they stand in their relationship today as it evolves over time.
