6 Coronation Street spoilers next week

1. Gun drama as Rob Donovan causes shock shooting

On Rob’s orders, Tracy Barlow (Kate Ford) calls his sister Carla Connor (Alison King) with a fake business proposition and asks her to come to No.1 as soon as possible.

Carla is soon shocked to find Rob at the Barlow house, and he’s in pain and clutching a gun.

Will Rob take Tracy along on his escape, or is he instead out for revenge on Carla?

Lisa Swain (Vicky Myers) is horrified to hear of the hostage situation, but will she put herself in the line of fire to save Carla and bring Rob to justice, or is she too late as a gunshot is heard?

In the hospital’s waiting area, there’s a tense anticipation – however, the identity of the victim of the gunshot remains unknown, and it’s uncertain whether they’ll make it through.

2. Emergency for young Bertie Osbourne while in Jenny Connor’s care

As a movie enthusiast, I’d rephrase it like this: Jenny hands Rita Tanner (Barbara Knox) a spa voucher, telling her that her ex-husband, Daisy’s father, had invested shares in her name way back when. Now, she’s anticipating a hefty payout of £60k!

In the meantime, unaware of this, Daisy frets over the debt they owe Carla, while Jenny remains silent about her recent financial gain. Daniel Osbourne (Rob Mallard) proposes that Daisy move back in with him and Bertie, but Daisy is concerned about leaving Jenny behind.

When Jenny gives Daisy a spa voucher and pretends it was purchased just to lift her spirits, Daisy feels moved while Jenny conceals her feelings of guilt. (Alternatively, when Jenny presents the spa voucher to Daisy as a gesture to make her feel better, Daisy is touched, but Jenny hides her sense of guilt.)

It appears that Daisy discovers Jenny is going to receive a payout, although it’s unclear how she found out. This is hinted by the fact that Daisy seems preoccupied with Jenny keeping secrets.

Jenny proposes giving Carla some money towards settling her debt, specifically £60,000. However, Carla seems unsatisfied with this arrangement and advises Jenny to instead invest the money in a business loan to cover the entire outstanding amount.

Jenny is later distracted by a call from the bank while she’s supposed to be looking after Bertie.

While Cassie Plummer (Claire Sweeney) and Steve McDonald (Simon Gregson) take a daring soak in the hot tub during their house-sitting stint at Tim Metcalfe’s (Joe Duttine), young Bertie notices his ball floating in the water.

Steve and Cassie are horrified to find Bertie in the water, and they emerge with the little boy just as a frantic Jenny is searching for him.

While taking Bertie to the hospital, Daisy sternly reprimands Jenny, recalling the near-tragic event that almost affected her son Tom.

Jenny is beside herself, but will Bertie be okay?

3. Dee-Dee Bailey considers change of heart over James after hospital dash

Dee-Dee tells Sarah Platt (Tina O’Brien) that she barely slept worrying about making the right decision for her baby.

When Dee-Dee says the prospective parents don’t feel suitable, Sarah suggests that Dee-Dee’s brother James Bailey (Jason Callender) and his boyfriend Danny Tomlinson (Dylan Brady) would be the right fit. How will Dee-Dee react?

As the week continues, Dee-Dee begrudgingly joins James for lunch, but then she’s suddenly overcome with pain and suffers another contraction, with James taking her to hospital.

At the maternity unit, the midwife tells Dee-Dee she experienced false labour pains and the baby isn’t quite ready to come yet.

Then James confides that he and Danny got very close to adopting a little boy, but it didn’t happen and they were heartbroken.

Dee-Dee is left thoughtful, but will she reconsider giving her child to James and Danny?

4. Dylan Wilson caught red-handed

In simple terms, Sean Tully (played by Antony Cotton) quietly puts a small case that holds a secret phone into Daniel’s backpack with a hint of anxiousness.

Then Sean calls son Dylan at the STC and encourages him to look for the case in teacher Daniel’s bag.

In my perspective, I’ve deciphered the secret message, thanks in no small part to my old man. Meanwhile, at school, it’s Daniel who finds himself navigating a heated confrontation.

Dylan takes the opportunity to search Daniel’s bag, but Daniel catches him red-handed.

How will Daniel handle this?

5. Debbie Webster makes big accusation amid worrying symptoms

Mick Michaelis (Joe Layton) presents Debbie with an invoice for the remaining £150, but she makes it clear she has no intention of paying it.

Noticing that her purse is gone, Debbie points an accusing finger at Mick, suggesting he took it. Meanwhile, Ronnie Bailey stands tall and confronts him.

Is Mick a thief, or could this situation be another sign that Debbie’s memory is worsening ahead of her diagnosis with dementia?

The next day, Debbie receives a phone call from the school, telling her that her nephew, Kyran Bowes, has been embroiled in a physical altercation and as a result, he’s been given a suspension.

Debbie convinces Carla Mendonça (Mrs. Crawshaw) to lift Jack’s punishment and asks him to keep it a secret from dad, Michael Le Vell (Kevin).

Will there be any more trouble from Jack, and what is the next step in Debbie’s story?

6. Newcomer Theo Silverton catches Todd Grimshaw’s eye

When Eileen Grimshaw (Sue Cleaver) tells Todd Grimshaw (Gareth Pierce) that Julie Carp (Katy Cavanagh) wants to spend her remaining days enjoying life to the fullest, Todd plans a trip to a cocktail bar.

While everyone around me is getting ready, I feign taking my medication but instead stow it aside secretly. As we make our way to the tram, an unexpected wave of pain strikes me, causing me to lean against a wall. Just then, a fragment of scaffolding topples down, miraculously missing me.

Site manager Theo apologises, but later tells George Shuttleworth (Tony Maudsley) that Julie must have been faking her pain as the scaffolding missed her by miles.

George reveals that Julie has cancer, and Theo is mortified, telling Todd he’d like to buy Julie some flowers.

Todd gives Theo a playful grin and guides him toward the flower shop, yet Todd starts feeling let down as Theo appears unresponsive to his affection.

Julie hatches a plan and makes out they’ve got a leaky roof, arranging for Theo to call in.

However, Theo comes to the conclusion that he’s been tricked when he encounters Todd by himself. He emphatically denies being gay and asks Todd, along with his eccentric aunt, to stop harassing him!

But is that really the end of Todd’s contact with Theo?
