Capricorn Clark has taken the stand.
On May 27, the tenth day of Sean “Diddy” Combs’ sex trafficking trial, his former assistant took the stand to share her work experiences with him from 2004 to 2020. Additionally, she testified about her role as Cassie Ventura’s creative director until 2018, as reported by NBC News reporters in the courtroom.
Clark explained to the prosecutors that all tasks were essentially my responsibilities. If I didn’t deliver, I risked losing my job – no exceptions. A good night would see me getting four hours of rest, while a tough night meant only two.
She stated that her working hours extended from 7 a.m. to 4 a.m., during which time she performed various tasks such as printing documents, retrieving his suits, conducting research, making phone calls, preparing meals for him, and packing personal items for travels, in addition to setting up hotel rooms. Clark claimed that the pressure of her position caused her to develop alopecia due to stress.
Besides her regular tasks as an assistant, Clark claimed that she observed Combs committing assault on Ventura, even after he found out about her relationship with Kid Cudi (real name Scott Mescudi) in 2011.
She stated under oath that he charged at her with all his strength. Noting that Ventura, who had an on-again, off-again relationship with Combs from 2007 to 2018, was silently crying as the attack occurred. He kept kicking her. With each kick, she would huddle further and further into a fetal position.
As I vividly remember, I heard Combs – the man who reportedly invaded Mescudi’s residence following an alleged incident, a fact that Mescudi himself verified under oath last week – continuing to assault Ventura as I stepped out of the rental house. He warned me in no uncertain terms, “If you join in, I’ll give you a beating too.
Clark, who stated that she assisted Ventura in purchasing a burner phone for her relationship with Mescudi due to safety concerns, mentioned that instead of contacting the authorities, she phoned Regina Ventura, Ventura’s mother, during the event.
I told her (the mother) that ‘He’s brutally attacking your child,’ and then explained, ‘I’m in a difficult situation. Please intervene for her. I can’t contact the police, but you can.’ She replied, ‘I will take care of it,’ and we ended the call.
In a court of law, Combs has denied all charges related to human trafficking, running a brothel, conspiring in organized crime, forcing individuals into sexual servitude, deceiving people for the purpose of prostitution, and transporting people with the intent of engaging in prostitution.
She claimed that Combs dismissed her in 2012 due to her failure to disclose the relationship between Ventura and Mescudi, contending that as a result, she lost numerous things such as health insurance, 401(k) retirement savings, her car, and her credit cards.
She stated, “He claimed I’d never be able to work again, and the ones around me weren’t true friends,” she asserted. In essence, he implied that I should give up hope of living.
For more bombshells in Diddy’s trial, keep reading.
In 2012, I, Scott Mescudi, otherwise known as Kid Cudi, remembered a chat with Sean “Diddy” Combs that took place shortly after my car had been engulfed in flames. This music artist, who brought us the hit “Day ‘n’ Night,” claimed that incidents like the break-in at my home in December 2011, where Diddy and his associates allegedly entered my residence upon learning about my brief relationship with Cassie Ventura, Diddy’s ex, were also part of our shared history.
Following the arson of Mescudi’s car in January 2012, an incident he attributed to Combs, he described a subsequent encounter they had in a hotel meeting room in Los Angeles. There, Combs was observed staring out the window with his hands tucked behind his back, reminiscent of a Marvel villain.
He stated that only he and I were present in the room, he then narrated our entire love story, from its beginning to its end. He emphasized that I was with his girlfriend, to which I replied that Cassie had informed me they were separated, and I chose to believe her.
He remained composed and gave me water not once, but twice,” he went on. “This unexpected tranquility of his left me feeling uneasy. In the end, Cassie arrived. I was disheartened to discover she had returned to him. Essentially, she conveyed that we had fallen in love, circumstances just unfolded this way.
In her five-day testimony this month detailing the alleged mistreatment by Combs, Ventura stated that following his remark “I’m going to harm us both,” she chose to end her relationship with Mescudi.
Following their encounter at the Los Angeles hotel conference room prior to any escalation, he mentioned that they stood up and exchanged a handshake.
Mescudi recounted, “I asked him, ‘What’s the plan regarding my vehicle?’ We were holding hands at the time. He replied, ‘I’m not sure what you’re referring to,’ and then he inquired, ‘Are we okay?’ I responded, ‘Well, you torched my car.’
Mescudi shared insight into two incidents, which he blames Combs for, during his testimony.
As an ardent fan, I’d rephrase it like this: Back in December 2011, the “Pursuit of Happiness” artist claimed he received a call from Combs, who, along with his companions, are said to have intruded into my home. This incident reportedly occurred after news surfaced about my romantic involvement with Ventura, who was on-again, off-again with Combs from 2007 until 2018.
In the courtroom, Mescudi stated, “‘What’s happening?’ is what he asked. I responded, ‘Hey there, are you in my residence?’ He answered, ‘Indeed, I’ve been here, waiting for you.’
While he said he wanted to “fight” Combs, he decided not to since he wasn’t sure who was with him.
In the chilly month of February, I found myself in a harrowing situation: my vehicle had fallen prey to an incendiary device – a Molotov cocktail, as I later discovered it to be – hidden in the driver’s seat. As I cruised along, approximately 45 minutes from home, this unexpected danger sent flames dancing within my car.
Previously, Ventura claimed in a lawsuit she later settled in 2023 against Combs, he had threatened to explode Mescudi’s car upon discovering their relationship. The lawsuit stated, “At around the same time, Kid Cudi’s car mysteriously exploded in his driveway.
On the seventh day of Combs’ trial, which concluded on May 20th, the rapper addressed everyone present in the courtroom with a message.
In a loud voice, as the court session ended for the day, according to People magazine, he declared, “I love you all,” and then softly muttered, “Yep, I do.
After making his announcement, Combs addressed a lady in the audience, hinting at his son, Justin Combs, who is 31 years old, and said, “Could you kindly convey to Justin that I’m thinking about him?
Regina Ventura stated on the 20th of May that in the year 2011, Diddy (Combs) allegedly warned her that he would disclose intimate videos involving his daughter Cassie Ventura, following her relationship with Mescudi.
Regina explained to the court that she had fallen ill, both physically and emotionally. She confessed that the revelation of the sex tape left her bewildered. She believed the man was attempting to harm her daughter, who was involved with Scott Mescudi. The sum of $20,000 he demanded was his price for their relationship.
She claimed that she and her spouse, Rodrick Ventura, resorted to securing a home equity loan as the means to acquire the necessary funds. Furthermore, she stated that this was the sole method available for them to procure the money.
As for why Combs demanded the lump sum?
She informed the prosecutor, “He was upset because he had given her money and she was with someone else.
David James disclosed details about Combs’ luggage during his testimony, revealing approximately 25 to 30 prescription bottles. Among these bottles, he mentioned finding some with the likeness of former President Barack Obama.
In the testimony, as recorded in court documents acquired by NBC News, it was stated that among several pills, there was one shaped like a past president’s likeness, which the former assistant confirmed was none other than President Barack Obama.
James stated that Combs was known to carry a Louis Vuitton bag containing cash amounting to at least $10,000, pain relievers like Advil and Tylenol, erectile dysfunction medication like Viagra, and pills said to boost his sperm count. Furthermore, he claimed that the rap entrepreneur had Percocet and ecstasy hidden in the bag as well.
In the course of his testimony, James explained to the jurors that Combs’ travel essentials often included a substantial amount of money – around ten thousand dollars – as well as pain relievers like Advil and Tylenol, erectile dysfunction medication such as Viagra, and pills intended to enhance sperm production.
Additionally, James claimed that Combs was found with “Percodan and MDMA” in his possession, an assertion supported by his former assistant’s eyewitness account of Combs consuming these substances.
The prosecution provided a peek into the rapper’s room at New York’s Park Hyatt hotel, where he was apprehended on September 16th.
The photographs presented as evidence, taken by Special Agent Yasin Binda from Homeland Security, depicted various items such as baby oil and Astroglide lubricant sealed in Ziploc bags, five containers of baby oil in the bathtub, two additional bottles of lubricant stored in a drawer, along with two packets of a powdery substance and $9,000 in cash.
As stated by Binda, the substances discovered within the prescription container proved to be both ketamine and a blend of ketamine and MDMA.
A previous friend of Ventura’s stated on May 19th that she directly observed Combs physically abusing Ventura during their vacation in Jamaica, and also during an instance at a home he was leasing in the Hollywood Hills.
Kerry Morgan additionally stated that her 17-year friendship with Ventura concluded following an assault by Combs upon her, which occurred at Ventura’s apartment in 2018. According to NBC News, she recounted the incident where Combs suddenly approached her from behind, choked her, leaving marks on her neck from his fingers, and struck her on the head with a wooden hanger. Cassie was in the bathroom at the time, and the blow landed behind Morgan’s right ear.
In the course of the conversation, it was revealed that she retained a lawyer, yet opted not to initiate a court case and instead consented to put her signature on a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA), receiving a sum of $30,000 in return.
According to Morgan’s testimony, it has been silent between us since then, as my last conversation with Sean occurred on the night of the incident, and I haven’t seen Cassie since the moment I agreed to the Non-Disclosure Agreement.
I, being utterly devoted, took the stand as requested by the authorities, but let it be known, I’ve long since turned the page in my life’s book. I was merely there to honor the summon of the law.
She stated that she recommended Ventura to part ways with Combs, but explained she couldn’t due to her obligations such as her work, vehicle, and residence.
During questioning by defense lawyer Marc Agnifilo, Morgan stated that she ceased communication with Ventura as he failed to offer support following the 2018 event. She further clarified, “I have a limit when it comes to physical violence.
Dawn Richard, former member of Danity Kane, declared on May 16th that she observed Richard Woolfolk (Ventura) chasing his then-girlfriend with a skillet filled with eggs back in 2009.
He stormed down the stairs, swearing about where his eggs were and accusing Cassie of always being wrong regarding his food, as stated by Richard during court proceedings. The court transcript from NBC News further revealed that he then approached the skillet containing the eggs and attempted to strike Cassie over the head, causing her to fall to the ground.
Ventura “went into the fetal position,” Richard continued, “literally trying to hide her head.”
According to Ventura’s testimony on May 15, there were no drugs blended with the baby oil that Combs preferred for his “freak offs,” as he stated there were none present.
2024 saw a lawsuit accusing Combs of adding GHB (also known as Rohypnol, a notorious ‘date rape’ drug) into the oil.
During the questioning under cross-examination on May 15th, Ventura stated that Combs would become envious and react in a volatile manner whenever she used drugs with others instead of himself.
In response to a question from defense attorney Anna Estevao regarding potential links between her ex’s mood swings and medication use, Ventura acknowledged that this was indeed a factor.
Earlier in the day, I inquired about her opinion on whether Combs struggled with drug addiction. She responded by stating, “I believe he battled addiction.
Her response affirmed that Combs did display anger or volatility while dealing with withdrawal symptoms.
“I’m not a doctor,” Ventura said, but “coming off of certain pills he would be pretty irritated.”
During Ventura’s testimony on May 15, Judge Arun Subramanian paused the proceedings momentarily as Combs’ defense presented graphic emails and texts during their cross-examination.
In this scenario, when lawyer Estevao showed sexually suggestive communications between the ex-pair from 2009 as evidence of a consenting relationship, the defense objected, and the judge agreed with their objection.
After hearing the objection, Ventura was spotted conversing quietly to the judge, promptly causing the official to announce a 10-minute recess.
In the courtroom, I found myself caught up in a passionate exchange between prosecution and defense before the jury’s arrival. As the lead defense attorney, I fervently advocated for the presentation of additional textual evidence in our case. However, the judge expressed concerns that certain messages potentially breached federal evidence guidelines.
To my utter delight, numerous accounts found their way into court proceedings where P. Diddy (Combs) and Conan O’Brien (Ventura) discussed the juicy details of their intimate relationships.
On May 15, Ventura admitted that she couldn’t determine exactly how many pranks or practical jokes (also known as “freak-offs”) she had participated in with Combs, but estimated it to be around hundreds.
She claimed that her former partner secretly recorded their intimate acts with the intention of using them for extortion. She mentioned that he threatened to make these recordings public, which could potentially harm her professional reputation.
Ventura stated, “He often brought them up when he was troubled. It was quite frequent, really. However, it was a source of great anxiety for me, both professionally and personally. It was humiliating, to say the least. It’s despicable and degrading. No one deserves such treatment.
On May 14th, Ventura testified that she received a $20 million settlement from her former boyfriend, Combs, following a lawsuit filed against him in November 2023. The lawsuit claimed that he had sexually assaulted and physically abused her throughout their relationship.
Testifying about events in 2018, Ventura stated that following a dinner at a restaurant in Malibu with Combs, who was “very pleasant,” he later went to her apartment and allegedly committed a sexual assault. She clarified that at the time of this incident, she was already in a relationship with Alex Fine, whom she married the following year in 2019.
She testified, “I entered the house, and then he followed and assaulted me brutally on the living room floor.” All I can recall is sobbing and pleading for him to stop, but it happened swiftly. His eyes seemed lifeless, as if possessed, it felt like a piece of my soul was being stolen from me.
Combs’ legal team has consistently stated that he never partook in any act of sexual misconduct, and the individuals accusing him of such offenses willingly engaged in any sexual activities they were involved in.
Ventura stated that she willingly engaged in sexual activity with Combs on another occasion following the alleged assault. When questioned about her decision to have sex with him again, she explained, “You can’t just switch feelings off like that. I still had a positive image of who he was as an individual.
At the close of 2011, Ventura ended her relationship with Mescudi, as she stated in court, due to Combs’ alleged threat that “Scott’s car would be destroyed.
Ventura stated to the court that there was excessive risk and ambiguity regarding potential consequences if their meetings persisted. He mentioned Sean’s threat that he intended to cause harm to both parties.
Departures from Ventura resulted in individuals experiencing urinary tract infections, mouth ulcers, and digestive problems, as was testified on May 14.
During her testimony, Ventura explained that there were multiple instances when we had confrontations, which occurred one after another, and on some occasions, these confrontations took place while I was dealing with an infection. I attempted to wash it out using water. Eventually, the antibiotic CIPRO became ineffective. The situation became chaotic.
She continued, “It was really painful for a long time. I can’t believe I actually dealt with that.”
In their text conversations, Ventura informed Combs about a sore throat she had, to which he responded with an expression of apologies.
On the second day of his testimony, Ventura narrated the 2016 hotel incident that had been captured on security cameras and broadcasted by CNN in May 2024.
She stated that Combs hurled a vase at her following an attempt to exit the Intercontinental Hotel, prior to physically attacking her.
During his testimony on May 14th, Ventura described the vase as moving towards him. “It collided with the wall instead of striking me,” he explained. “I wasn’t physically harmed by it. He was shouting at me. I believe he hurled it in my direction, though I can’t recall his precise words. I’m confident he wasn’t simply addressing me by my name.
However, she said that Combs told her “that I wasn’t going to leave him, that I couldn’t.”
Following the unfortunate hotel incident, I found myself stepping onto the red carpet for the premiere of “The Perfect Match” sporting visible bruises across my face and body alongside Mr. Combs. To maintain a sense of glamour amidst the discomfort, I had to heavily conceal my swollen eye and split lip with makeup. Moreover, with several bruises on my legs, I made the decision to alter my outfit for the event.
On May 13, the singer declared that Combs had assaulted her in the corridor of a Los Angeles hotel back in March 2016 due to his anger over her exit from a heated argument, referred to as a “freak off.” (Footage of this incident, captured by hotel surveillance cameras, was made public by CNN in 2024. However, the defense’s attempt to keep this video out of court evidence was unsuccessful.)
Ventura explained to the court that he decided to depart, after which Sean pursued him in the corridor and forcefully grabbed him, pushing him down, kicking him, and dragging him back to the room before taking his belongings.
Instead of participating, she had chosen not to, as she had a movie premiere scheduled just a few days later and wished to keep Combs content. In her words, “If I could satisfy him by performing an unexpected act,” Ventura said, “then my event would proceed without any issues.
After he inflicted a black eye on her, she expressed, “At that moment, all I could focus on was escaping there safely. My debut was coming up and I didn’t want to jeopardize it.” Upon being shoved to the ground in the hallway, Ventura stated, she remained down because “I didn’t want him to cause any further harm than he had already inflicted.
Ventura stated that during her initial sexual encounter with an escort while Combs was present, she consumed alcohol and ecstasy. Furthermore, to endure what she referred to as “freak offs,” she admitted to using marijuana, ketamine, mushrooms, or whatever drug was popular at the time.
“I couldn’t imagine myself doing any of that without having some sort of buffer,” she said.
At times, she’d become so overwhelmed that she’d end up physically sick – throwing up – during heated arguments, Ventura explained, and Combs would motivate me to keep going despite this.
She expressed to Combs that the hurtful remarks left her feeling extremely bad about herself, both terrible and insignificant, according to Ventura. However, his response to her worries seemed rather unconcerned.
Following an unexpected incident, it appears that baby oil spread throughout the hotel room, according to Ventura’s testimony. If Combs had asked someone to wet the bed, there might also be traces of urine on the linens. Moreover, if she was menstruating at the time, Ventura suggested there could be blood stains not only on the sheets but also on the furniture.
In my professional opinion as a lifestyle advisor, the incident left me feeling deeply humiliated. It was revolting, overwhelming – I nearly gagged, I wished I hadn’t been put in such an undesirable situation, and found myself unable to extricate myself quickly.
According to Ventura, it was something that excited him, which is why the event transpired. When Emily A. Johnson, the prosecutor, asked her why she didn’t resist Combs’ instructions in these instances, she explained that she believed it was clear that she didn’t want to comply.
On May 13, Ventura stated that Combs instructed herself and the “freak off” group members to apply baby oil onto their bodies.
She mentioned in court that Sean desired it to be hot and shiny, so we applied heat treatment approximately every five minutes.
At the Montage Beverly Hills, during a surprising incident, Ventura recalled that Combs suggested for her to enter a pool full of baby oil, which was inflated, while she was dressed.
As a devoted follower, I found myself reluctant at times, yet when it came to Sean Combs’ desires, I knew it was non-negotiable – whatever he wished would transpire. In this particular instance, we employed no less than ten standard-sized bottles of baby oil.
Ventura disclosed to prosecutors on May 13 that in the initial year of her ten-year relationship with Combs, he suggested incorporating voyeurism into their intimate activities. This started when she arranged for an escort and set up a scenario, so she could put on a show for Combs, who would observe her with another person.
Ultimately, she found herself engaged in organizing adult shows that Combs referred to as “freak offs.” These performances, ranging from 36 hours to four days, essentially transformed into full-time work for her.
As a die-hard admirer, I can’t help but reminisce about the thrilling moment when I managed to arrange everything – yes, right there in our hotel suite. It was all so surreal! To kick things off, it was Sean who had set up the initial arrangements.
Ventura said that her “stomach churned” when he first proposed the experience.
She admitted she didn’t initially understand why it would be appealing, but she took on the task. To be honest, she felt bewildered, anxious, yet deeply cherished him and aimed to bring joy into his life. It wasn’t something she enjoyed or desired to do frequently, especially given the pace it eventually adopted, but her love for him compelled her to make him happy.
She admitted, “At some point, I felt I didn’t have much of a choice.”
In their relationship spanning from 2007 to 2018, Ventura claimed that Combs often exhibited violent behavior towards her on multiple occasions.
She told the jury that their disagreements were often intense, leading to acts of violence such as hitting her, pushing her down, dragging her across rooms, and kicking her.
She noted that she frequently displayed visible signs of injury, explaining, “I’d develop knots on my forehead, swollen eyes – black or red – and bruises covering various parts of my body.
Prior to male escort Daniel Philip testifying on May 13, Ventura’s legal team has asked for her to be seated in the witness stand ahead of the jury’s entrance, as she is currently eight months pregnant.
Defense attorney Marc Agnifilo stated to the judge, “I believe there’s an unfair bias,” expressing that pregnancy holds a captivating and admirable nature, but it can also elicit empathy.
It was later on that Ventura was joined, suggesting their defense team’s motion had been denied earlier.
On one particular instance when Ventura didn’t immediately respond to Combs’ call, as testified on May 12, it was stated that Combs angrily hurled a liquor bottle towards her, then forcefully grabbed her by the hair and pulled her into the bedroom. Philip recalled her screams echoing through the house, and from his vantage point in another room, he heard what sounded like slapping noises. He also remembered Combs shouting, “I told you to come here, you come here now, not later.
Phillip said he was “terrified” and did not intervene.
As an ardent admirer, let me share that I can confirm additional evidence regarding an incident. On another occasion at the Essex House hotel in New York, it seemed to my ears that Combs was physically abusing Ventura. The cries of “I’m sorry, I’m sorry” along with the sounds of slapping and being thrown around the room were unmissable. Peeking around the corner, I caught a glimpse of Mr. Combs exiting the hotel naked or possibly wearing just a towel.
Ventura exited the room and leaped onto Philip’s lap, as he stated. He went on to say that she was trying to reassure him by saying, “It’s alright” and “You’ll be alright,” but he responded, “This is not alright and you need professional help.
“I tried to explain to her that she was in real danger if she stayed with him,” Phillip said.
During questioning by prosecutor Maureen Comey, Philip explained that he didn’t contact the police because he perceived Combs as someone with immense influence, and there was a possibility that even if he had reported the incident, his life might still have been at risk.
Daniel Philip, who claimed he was operating a male strip show during the stated period, testified that he received “a few thousand dollars” for engaging in sexual activities with Ventura, while Combs observed at Manhattan’s Gramercy Hotel in 2012. Philip identified Combs by his voice despite him wearing a robe, a baseball cap, and a bandanna concealing his face.
In his testimony, Phillip stated that Ventura promised to tip him later, and then they proceeded to engage in sexual activities. He also mentioned that they both applied baby oil on each other for a while, while Combs was seen masturbating in a corner.
Afterward, the witness continued, Ventura gave him “a couple of thousand more.”
Philip shared that he had numerous instances over the following year where both Ventura and Combs reached out for similar meetings at various hotels and in their respective New York homes. He claimed that Combs videotaped him and Ventura during one or two sexual encounters, and on some occasions, Combs would insert himself into the situation, having sex with Ventura while Philip was present.
In her 2023 lawsuit claiming sexual assault and physical abuse against her ex, Ventura asserted that Combs compelled her into having intimate relations with male escorts.
According to Florez’s testimony, Ventura appeared frightened. She huddled in a corner, with her hood up and concealed. Her face wasn’t visible to me, as she was mostly hiding in the corner. A shattered flower vase lay on the floor nearby.
After Ventura departed from the hotel, Florez stated that she had a noticeable purple eye. Following her departure, Florez and the desk manager went up to the room to discuss hotel regulations with Combs. According to Florez, Combs believed the manager was filming him on his phone and tried to take it, and when Combs attempted to grab his own phone, Florez testified that he restrained Combs against a wall. “We informed him we weren’t recording him,” Florez testified, “and diffused the situation.
In court, the prosecution presented slowed-down surveillance footage from May 2024, originally published by CNN, which seemed to depict Combs assaulting Ventura through hitting, kicking, and dragging. Earlier, the defense had argued that this clip was sped up, exaggerating the violence of the altercation. Additionally, the jury viewed a video taken by Florez on his phone when he responded to an emergency call for a distressed woman on the sixth floor.
As a die-hard devotee, I can’t help but share my perspective on an intriguing incident. You see, Florez declared that he opted not to dial the authorities in that moment because Ventura refused to shed light on what had transpired and simply expressed her desire to depart.
Police Officer Israel Florez, serving in Los Angeles, previously held a security role at the InterContinental Hotel. It was during this time that the incident involving Combs and Ventura occurred on March 5, 2016. In her opening statement, Geragos referred to the surveillance footage of the attack as “compelling evidence of domestic violence,” but emphasized that it wasn’t primarily about sex trafficking; rather, it was related to infidelity uncovered on a mobile device. This new evidence was first made public by CNN in May 2024.
On May 12th, Florez stated under oath that he observed signs of a dispute on the day in question, to which Combs subsequently presented him with a pile of cash, hoping he’d turn a blind eye to the incident.
In the heat of questioning, I couldn’t help but feel my heart race as I declared, with absolute conviction, that I perceived his move as an undeniable attempt at bribery – none other than Diddy himself!
