Everyone can’t seem to stop talking about the complex romantic situation involving her, Yuri, Min-ho, and Juliana – it’s definitely the most intriguing aspect for many fans!

Is it that Kitty ultimately finds her romantic match as you anticipated? Did she form any relationships by the end? Additionally, is there a possibility of another season unfolding?

For those eager fans seeking additional insights, here’s a heads up about the conclusion of season 2 of XO, Kitty – proceed with caution as major spoilers lie ahead.

XO, Kitty season 2 ending explained: Who does Kitty end up with?

In the concluding episode of XO, Kitty season 2, there’s an uplifting beginning as it turns out that Kitty’s long-separated grandmother and aunt are ready to reconcile after more than five decades. This remarkable reunion is made possible by none other than Kitty herself!

While things seem promising for Min-ho’s talent competition and his popstar brother’s tour, there’s a catch: Stella is using blackmail to get involved in the competition and become the opening act. Unfortunately, this isn’t all good news; it’s more like a dose of drama-drama-drama. In simpler terms, Stella is stirring up quite a bit of drama.

Although Kitty has abandoned her investigation due to believing she erred about Stella’s wicked actions, roommates Q and Dae become suspicious of the apparently kind and devout girl, as they notice Min-ho switching from his regular collagen water to an energy drink instead.

It seems there’s something off about him, and it’s not merely his appearance that appears unnaturally pale (even Robert Pattinson’s charm can’t save that look, as Q aptly points out).

On the day of the contest, it becomes clear to Dae that Stella had deceptively secured a spot in the competition, set to emerge victorious. At this moment, Kitty finds her suspicions about Min-ho’s latest partner confirmed.

When questioned about it, Min-ho openly acknowledges that he has been blackmailing her, with plans to expose his brother’s secret involving a backup dancer who is pregnant with his child.

Min-ho finds it hard to confess the truth – he feels ashamed – but Kitty persuades him that they must prevent Stella from gaining fame, as she seeks revenge on his father for humiliating her during that talent show long ago.

Kitty states, “I’m not intimidated by someone disguised as a sheep, but if she harms my friends, I’ll take her down quicker than she can utter ‘Have a nice day.’

This kitty’s got claws and she’s not afraid to use them.

As I watch the Shoot for the Moon contest unfold, it swiftly becomes evident that Stella is leaving no stone unturned in her pursuit of victory.

In a surprising turn of events during Dae’s performance, Eunice, his girlfriend, experiences her heel breaking unexpectedly. It appears someone has sabotaged her shoes! The moment is followed by an amusing scene where all of Dae’s dancers, seemingly affected by spoiled food that Stella tampered with, rush off to the restroom simultaneously.

Despite Kitty acting as usual unfazed, Min-ho works on sound problems and the school head teacher rushes up to play guitar backing. This allows Dae’s performance (covering Jungkook’s Seven) to proceed, with friends stepping in for the backup dancers, including Jin who secretly feigns a leg injury to spend more time watching The Gilded Age alongside his boyfriend, Q.

The humor is as intense as Stella getting furious when she finds out Kitty has undermined her own efforts at sabotage. However, just as Stella prepares to play her last trick, Min-ho’s brother exposes the truth about his new girlfriend on stage and proposes to her in front of everyone worldwide.

Kitty remarks, “That’s your compromising evidence disappearing,” and Stella is escorted out by security, leaving behind her charred aspirations in the wake of the competition.

However, before Min-ho’s mother boards the flight back to Ohio, his father offers an apology for his past harshness towards her. Eager to understand if their bond was merely a strategy or if it held genuine significance, Min-ho interjects with haste.

Stella acknowledges, “Initially, no, but later on, you turned out to be unlike what I expected. I genuinely took a liking to you, but I sensed that your feelings weren’t as deep as mine.

Returning to the subject of the competition, it’s been revealed that Eunice emerged victorious and will be the opening act for Moon’s band “Sugar Daddy”, an unusual choice for a tour title.

After a while of being less active due to the breakup with Kitty, Praveena has been spotted enthusiastically conversing with Juliana. It appears that they have rekindled their relationship, which is causing disappointment for Yuri.

Juliana expresses her regret and inquires whether she and Yuri can remain friends. Naturally, Yuri consents, yet the pain persists, particularly since Juliana thought their reconciliation was imminent.

For Yuri, matters become increasingly difficult when Alex, who had been largely absent throughout the season, arrives to console her. However, it isn’t due to Juliana’s rejection that causes this predicament. Instead, it is revealed that her credit cards were previously declined because her father is embroiled in a class action lawsuit against the Han group. This lawsuit has resulted in his assets being frozen, leaving Yuri financially stranded.

It’s disappointing to bid farewell to Yuri this season as she’s delightful and deserves all the good things in life. On a positive note, Dae is content, despite not winning the competition. This is due to the fact that the recently settled class action lawsuit will assist in covering his father’s medical expenses. It’s reassuring news, albeit it seems a bit too conveniently resolved.

Unfortunately, Kitty’s sister Margot informs everyone that her flight has been cancelled, hence the eagerly anticipated family gathering with the Covey sisters, including the older ones, will not take place as planned.

In other words, it seems like challenges are hardly an issue if one has wealth or a wealthy acquaintance like Min-ho, as he can swiftly resolve matters using his father’s private jet.

Experience a profoundly emotional encounter as I facilitate a long-awaited reunion between my beloved grandmother and her sister, two ladies separated by half a century. The wait is finally over, and through my efforts, they find themselves in a position to express their apologies, share tears of joy and sorrow, and embrace each other with heartfelt affection.

In unison, the family that has been reconnected steps indoors to carry out a jesa ritual in honor of Eve, Kitty’s mother. This tradition is about showing reverence towards those who have passed away. It was a deeply emotional moment, marking an appropriate conclusion to this long-standing issue.

But what does that mean now for Kitty?

Two weeks on, I manage to swiftly and effortlessly find a way to extend my stay at KISS for another year, all thanks to a fresh scholarship scheme established under the new heritage program. This is due to the recent financial backing received by the school from its investors. Essentially, it feels like we’re racing against time to tie up loose ends. Fortunately, this development brings hope for a possible third season.

But wait. There’s more!

After learning that Kitty will be extending her stay for another year, I find myself wondering if she’s shared this exciting news with Min-ho yet. His recent act of flying his grandmother and sister over the ocean speaks volumes about their bond. It’s evident that he owes a great debt to Kitty – one could say they have an epic connection unfolding.

As a devoted cinephile, I must admit that I can empathize with Kitty’s predicament. The thought crosses my mind often: “What if things aren’t as they once were between them? With Stella’s interference, hasn’t it all become too intricate and tangled?

Q proposes having a conversation with Min-ho during one of their routine strolls in the sculpture garden. Quite intellectual, indeed. And that’s all we catch up with Q this season, but it appears that things are going well between him and his boyfriend Jin, which is more than can be said for Yuri at the moment. At least, Q ends this season on a more positive note compared to Yuri.

Min-ho is found by Kitty just as he’s taking a moment to gather his thoughts before departing that evening. Accompanied by his brother and Eunice, Min-ho is part of the Sugar Daddy tour (which still feels odd).

I made a spur-of-the-moment choice, and I leaped at the opportunity in the hope that it might erase Stella from my memory banks since I’ve decided to abstain from romantic entanglements.

Swearing. Off. Relationships.

Despite the apparent pain, Kitty remains unfazed and informs him that she’ll return for another year at KISS. This seems to bring genuine joy to him. Unfortunately, Min-ho must leave now since his ride is arriving soon.

They hold onto each other for a prolonged period, and as the melody intensifies, you can almost hear their hearts pounding. Is it possible that this is the instant they will share their first kiss?

No. Min-ho walks away, which makes Kitty question everything.

In a typical playful manner reminiscent of Kitty, she spontaneously proposes joining Min-ho on his tour without much forethought.

He gives a nod and a smile before setting off, prepared for a remarkable summer with the young man she shares a significant bond with.

This season concludes with XO, Kitty, leaving viewers longing for more as they eagerly await the moment when the characters will finally share their first kiss, which was teased at the end of season 1.

Indeed, this ending is remarkably fitting in numerous aspects. A straightforward kiss might seem overly conventional and even stereotypical. However, “XO, Kitty” skillfully twists romantic comedy and Korean drama conventions, yet it offers much more than a simple pastiche.

It’s shrewd to conclude with a touch of enigmatic optimism, as it offers some resolution without disclosing all the secrets. This is particularly relevant in today’s world, considering how frequently streaming platforms like Netflix terminate series, particularly LGBTQ+ shows, after only one or two seasons.

Should XO, Kitty conclude, seeing Kitty dash away with Min-ho while sporting a radiant grin serves as a satisfying finale for viewers, but it also subtly suggests the possibility of additional stories in a prospective third season.

Just as Kitty personifies, this place radiates a vibrant, youthful exuberance, echoing the optimism and hope that have been integral to her journey since To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before, persisting even after these seven years.
