Short interactive novel game and Roger announced

As a seasoned connoisseur of interactive narratives who’s been through the emotional wringer more times than I can count, the trailer for “and Roger” has piqued my curiosity like a rusty nail stuck in a worn-out sneaker. The intriguing blend of mystery and emotion that the game promises is right up my alley, and the fact that it’s an interactive novel makes me wonder if I’ll be able to outsmart this young girl on her twisted journey.

Kodansha Publishers and TearyHand Studio have unveiled the upcoming interactive novel game titled “and Roger.” This game is set to release on PC via Steam in the year 2025, offering both English and Japanese language options for players.

Here is an overview of the game, via its Steam page:

About

The story titled “Roger” is an interactive novel where you experience the world from the protagonist’s perspective, whether it seems logical or not. This narrative splits into three parts and can typically be completed within an hour of playtime.

Story

This young girl begins another typical day. As usual, she shakes off her slumber and prepares herself. However, there’s an unusual feeling in the air – a sense of unease or discomfort that she can’t quite place.

Upon entering the living room, she anticipates seeing her father getting ready for work. However, what greets her is an unfamiliar person dozing off on the sofa instead.

The man opens his eyes, gazes at the woman, lets out a soft sigh. Disregarding her puzzlement, he mutters softly, betraying a tinge of sorrow in his words.

Scared, the girl runs. She must leave the house.

She doesn’t know who this man is or where her father has gone.

Walk alongside her on this twisting, twisted path and see where it will lead her.
