Should I Have Shown So Much?

Kylie Jenner is showing off what her mama gave her with her blessing.

Three months following Kylie Cosmetics’ founder’s stunning appearance at the 2025 Golden Globes in a vintage silver Versace gown with boyfriend Timothée Chalamet, the final episode of the Kardashians series offered a glimpse into her discomfort about her look post-event.

During the recording of her private interview (which was shown later as an extra scene after the credits on the April 10 episode), Kylie contacted her mother Kris Jenner and inquired about her appearance at the Golden Globes, asking, “Was it appropriate for me to have bared my chest like that?

however, when it comes to Kris – the mother of Kourtney Kardashian (45), Kim Kardashian (44), Khloe Kardashian (40), Rob Kardashian Jr. (37), as well as Kendall Jenner (29) and Kylie (27), all with the late Robert Kardashian and Caitlyn Jenner respectively – she was swift in dismissing any worries that were raised.

“Yes,” she replied. “You have to wear your best dress to every function you go to, no matter what.”

At the 82nd annual award ceremony, where Timothée earned a nomination for Best Actor in a Drama Motion Picture for “A Complete Unknown”, Kylie drew attention with her bold, backless chainmail dress that left quite an impression.

And for the Kardashian-Jenner matriarch, she means wearing your best no matter what.

Kris went on, “It’s similar to saying, ‘You need to coordinate your lingerie,’ for the reason being that, should any unfortunate event occur and you end up at the hospital, you’ll still be wearing stylish lingerie.

Her advice appeared to soothe Kylie, who simply said, “OK,” before hanging up the call.

Despite feeling a bit anxious about her look at the event, Jenner is never shy when it comes to experimenting with fashion trends. Her latest move has left everyone speechless as she unveiled her new line of latex dresses. In typical Jenner style, she playfully mentioned that she’d wear one of these outfits to pick up her children from school.

Regarding the attire she chose, Kylie – mother of Stormi, aged 7, and Aire, 3, from her relationship with Travis Scott – opted for a vibrant red, figure-hugging dress that accentuated her neckline significantly.

Instead of constantly experimenting with new styles, she acknowledged that there’s a sense of obligation when it comes to making a fashion statement.

In her conversation with Elle magazine last October, she expressed that maintaining numerous iconic styles can be challenging due to the pressure to surpass the previous one. However, at present, she is more focused on staying true to herself, embracing a timeless aesthetic, and wearing outfits that make her feel confident. She also mentioned that instead of pursuing extravagance, she is currently leaning towards experimenting with different styles.

In many ways, she’s attributed her style evolution to her journey as a mom.

She went on to say, “It’s been several years since I had a baby. My early twenties were filled with childbearing, discovering my personal style, and then losing it—I found myself unsure of how to dress, gaining 60 pounds for both pregnancies. It took me about a year to feel like my usual self again.

As Kylie put it, “At 27, I feel more confident and more like myself than ever.”

She shared with Elle magazine in October that it’s challenging to maintain multiple iconic styles due to the constant need to surpass the previous one. However, she expressed her current mindset is about being authentic, classic, and wearing outfits that make her feel fantastic. Contrary to the idea of continually pushing boundaries, she mentioned she’s going in a different direction now, having experimented but not shying away from trying new things.

In many ways, she’s attributed her style evolution to her journey as a mom.

As a lifestyle expert reflecting on my past, I’ve spent the initial phase of my twenties juggling motherhood, self-discovery, and style evolution—a time that saw me welcoming two new lives into the world, experimenting with personal fashion, and then temporarily losing my unique sense of style amidst weight gain due to both pregnancies. It took a full year for me to reconnect with myself and regain my confidence in my appearance.

As Kylie put it, “At 27, I feel more confident and more like myself than ever.”
