Shudder Will Deliver All-New Joe Bob Briggs Christmas Special in December

As a long-time fan of Joe Bob Briggs and his terrifying tales, I can’t help but feel the chills run down my spine at the thought of yet another unforgettable holiday horror extravaganza coming our way! With Joe Bob’s Christmas Carnage set to debut on Shudder next month, it’s clear that this year is shaping up to be a blood-soaked festive season indeed.

Fans of the macabre are well aware that a double bill of spine-tingling and seasonal movies on Shudder during the holidays, complete with Joe Bob Briggs’ “Joe Bob’s Christmas Carnage,” is just around the corner next month. As always, Joe Bob Briggs and Darcy the Mail Girl will spring a couple of shocking surprises upon viewers to help them embrace the holiday mood, or as has happened in some years, films that have absolutely nothing to do with Christmas at all. Furthermore, next month will also bring new episodes of “Just Joe Bob” on The Last Drive-In, showcasing Briggs’ insights into horror classics. “Joe Bob’s Christmas Carnage” is set to premiere live on Shudder on Friday, December 13th at 9 p.m. ET and will be available for streaming on December 15th.

During “Joe Bob’s Christmas Carnage,” as snowflakes drift down and heaps of bodies accumulate, Joe Bob and Darcy share the screening of two chilling holiday-themed horror films with such excessive gore that even Santa might hesitate to descend through that chimney.

Experience the unfiltered enthusiasm of “Just Joe Bob” – a delightful blend of rants, exclamations, and film critiques, devoid of the actual movies themselves. Join Joe Bob Briggs, Darcy, and the entire Drive-In team for their segments and commentaries from episodes of the The Last Drive-In show. There’s no movie watching involved, just pure Joe Bob!

It appears that more “Just Joe Bob” episodes, including this year’s specials and “The Last Drive-In” installments, could be coming to Shudder. However, fans will need to wait until December 13th to fully enjoy all the content. Since some of the films Joe Bob and Darcy discuss are familiar ones or ones that Shudder doesn’t have the rights to stream permanently, “Just Joe Bob” offers a unique way to experience “The Last Drive-In” without watching the entire movie being featured.

For several decades, Briggs has been captivating horror enthusiasts across multiple platforms, starting with “Joe Bob’s Drive-in Theater” and later with “MonsterVision.” Following the end of “MonsterVision” in 2000, fans had to wait until 2018 for Briggs to host “The Last Drive-In,” a 24-hour marathon initially intended as a farewell event for the horror host. However, the success of this event rekindled fan enthusiasm for Briggs, leading to his resurgence on Shudder.

Prior to his weekly show, The Last Drive-In, Briggs made a comeback on Shudder for Thanksgiving, presenting Joe Bob’s Dinners of Death 2018 special, which included The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, The Hills Have Eyes, Dead or Alive, and Blood Rage. A month later, during A Very Joe Bob Christmas, viewers expected holiday-themed horror films, but instead received four out of the five movies in the Phantasm series. While Briggs’ December specials occasionally focus on films such as Black Christmas or Jack Frost, he keeps his audience guessing by choosing to screen unexpected movies like ‘Gator Bait or The Brain.

Tune in to Joe Bob’s Christmas Carnage on Shudder on Friday, December 13th at 9 p.m. ET.
