As a dedicated fan who has followed their journey for years, I can only express my profound admiration and concern for Kelly Osbourne and Sid Wilson. Their resilience in the face of adversity is truly inspiring, especially after experiencing such a life-altering event as Sid’s recent accident.
Kelly Osbourne and Sid Wilson are feeling thankful.
A few days after Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne’s daughter revealed that her boyfriend had been recovering from severe burns over a significant portion of his body following an explosion, the Slipknot band member is reflecting on the harrowing incident.
In an interview with Fox News Digital on August 28, Sid expressed that he hasn’t had great days recently, but since he’s still alive, things are going well for him.
He mentioned that he has bandages covering his entire right arm and also half of his left one, indicating the extent of his injuries.
He went on to describe his condition, saying, “From my nose onwards, it appears as though my face has been softened or reshaped. However, the swelling has diminished significantly, and the doctors find it remarkable due to its rapid regenerative capabilities, suggesting a quick healing process.”
Apart from that, it was clarified by Sid why there was an explosion on their Iowa residence, where they reside along with their 21-month-old child named Sidney. He pointed out that he had been tending to a wood pile when the incident occurred.
A few evenings past, he mentioned he ignited it and allowed it to burn out. Curious about its remaining state, he visited the next day. To his surprise, there were remnants scattered near the sides. Acting against advice, he decided to pour more gas onto it.
As a lifestyle enthusiast, in my own words, I found myself in a situation where I needed to ignite something, but couldn’t find a suitable branch nearby. In such moments of impatience, I sometimes make an impulsive decision and say, “Why wait? I can manage on my own.”
I knelt down, stretched out, and ignited the object, and let me tell you, given how moist the atmosphere was, there were plenty of vapors hanging about. And when I did, well, let’s just say a burst of energy followed!
In a hurry, I hopped into my vehicle and sped towards our home to get Kelly, our child, and hastened our journey to a local urgent care center. Following this, I was moved to a bigger hospital in Des Moines where my burn injuries were further attended to.
Yet, Sid acknowledges that his recollections become fuzzy due to the painkillers at that point, but Kelly has a clear and vivid memory of those events.
She clarified that they primarily covered his wounds with a false scab-like substance and spread it across his entire body. This was done until they could transfer him to the burn unit where they could carefully remove the scabs.
And Sid is incredibly thankful to have the 39-year-old by his side during the ordeal.
“He spoke highly of her, ‘She’s absolutely indispensable,’ he praised. ‘Simply incredible! With her around, managing everything for me, I’m honestly unsure how I would manage without her.'”
Kelly joked that she’s had “a pretty good attitude about it,” with Sid assuring her that she really has.
Fortunately for the couple, their son Sidney appears oblivious to the tension that’s been surrounding him.
Sid pointed out, “He’s so young that he’s simply enjoying every moment of it all.”
Currently, the musical artist known as “Duality” is finding it tough due to low vitality. Yet, he refuses to let this bring him down. Most importantly, he finds himself astonished by the ordeal he encountered.
He mentioned that the most challenging aspect wasn’t the actual task, but rather feeling foolish for having done it. It was more about realizing, “Wow, I truly learned that lesson the hard way,” and he needs to remind himself to take a moment to think things through before jumping into something blindly.
He’s eagerly anticipating resuming his journey with Slipknot shortly, primarily since he feels confident that he won’t require surgery or skin transplants in the near future.
“As long as my hands are OK,” he said, “I should be able to pull it off.”
Ever since Sid’s accident, both Sid and Kelly have expressed immense gratitude for the affection and assistance they’ve received from those around them.
In the August 24 Instagram video, Kelly expressed gratitude to all those who have been sending their well-wishes to Sid. She mentioned that he has shown significant improvement.
She certainly emphasized the importance of respecting burn piles by posting a strong cautionary message on her Instagram Stories the previous day: “Here’s a reminder not to mess around with burn piles.”
