As an ardent fan, I’m thrilled to share that the film adaptation of the electrifying martial arts action game, Sifu, is moving forward! According to recent updates from Deadline, Netflix has jumped on board with the production team. Alongside Netflix, 87Eleven Entertainment and the legendary Chad Stahelski, creator of the John Wick series, are also part of this exciting project. Notably, T.S. Nowlin is set to work on the script for this upcoming movie. Can’t wait to see what they bring to life on the big screen!
87Eleven Entertainment and Stahelski are involved in multiple projects, such as the upcoming film adaptation of Ghost of Tsushima alongside Sony, as well as a Rainbow Six movie inspired by Tom Clancy’s original works, and a reboot of the action film Highlander with Lionsgate.
Apart from his reputation, Nowlin is recognized for his screenwriting contributions to film adaptations. Earlier, he was involved in the script for “The Maze Runner”, and most recently, he contributed to Netflix’s production titled “The Adam Project“.
First released as far back as 2022, the game Sifu tells the tale of a determined young martial artist who embarks on a quest for vengeance against a criminal organization that played a role in the demise of their master. The game introduces an innovative mechanic where each death causes the protagonist to age, enhancing their fighting abilities but simultaneously decreasing their maximum health points.
