At the inaugural Press Start event hosted by Konami on Thursday, they unveiled fresh information about several games and series. To wrap up the show, Konami announced that a remake of Silent Hill is underway, with Bloober Entertainment, who previously worked on the Silent Hill 2 remake, at the helm once more.
You can check out the teaser below:
At the moment, there’s neither a confirmed release date nor any additional details, indicating that this announcement might be very early on in the game’s creation process, or perhaps the game hasn’t started being developed yet.
Despite lying low for quite some time, the revival of Silent Hill has undeniably stirred excitement among fans. The franchise came back with a bang in 2024 when Silent Hill 2 was remade, garnering critical acclaim and reaching over 2 million copies sold on PlayStation 5 and Windows PC by January 2025.
Will the Silent Hill remake come to Xbox?
Currently, no platform announcements have been made for this remake, so it seems we might need to be patient to find out more about its release details.
As a researcher delving into the gaming realm, I can’t help but pique my own curiosity: will the Silent Hill 2 remake make its way onto Xbox consoles? Currently, the remake developed by Bloober Team is a timed exclusive for the PlayStation 5 console. While PC gamers have already had the opportunity to explore this chilling experience, Xbox enthusiasts are left in anticipation, as they won’t be able to play it until at least October of this year (if we’re lucky).
Conversely, the freshly launched Silent Hill game set for release in September will debut on Xbox consoles from day one, and it also offers compatibility with Xbox Play Anywhere.
For the time being, I’m optimistic that this game might not follow the same timed-exclusive model as the Silent Hill 2 remake; however, we’ll need to observe the developments before we can confirm it for sure.
