As a seasoned gamer with over two decades under my belt, I’ve seen my fair share of game remakes that either fall short or exceed expectations. The Silent Hill 2 remake has managed to do the latter and then some.
The remake of “Silent Hill 2” has faced a constant flow of skepticism from various sources, including myself, since its announcement a few years back. However, as the release date approached and reviews started pouring in, there’s been a shift in opinions about this horror game. Now that the reviews are live, it seems that the developer Bloober Team has successfully accomplished what many thought was impossible.
Currently, the remake of Silent Hill 2 is receiving acclaim. On OpenCritic, it has accumulated an aggregate score of 88 based on 41 reviews, while Metacritic reports a score of 87 after 57 reviews. Several critics have heaped high praise and impressive scores upon this survival horror game, including our own assessment.
In response to the high praise Silent Hill 2 has been receiving from worldwide media, developer Bloober Team expressed their excitement on Twitter, saying, “We are absolutely ecstatic about the reviews Silent Hill 2 has garnered! From the depths of our hearts, we thank you!
For now, the Deluxe Edition purchasers can play Silent Hill 2 on their PS5 or PC systems, as the game’s worldwide launch is scheduled for October 8.
We’re overjoyed by the acclaim Silent Hill 2 has earned from worldwide media outlets! A heartfelt thank you! 💗
We can hardly wait to welcome you to our unique realm on October 8, available on PS5 and Steam! #SilentHill #KONAMI #BlooberTeam
