Through the GOG Preservation initiative, Konami’s “Silent Hill 4: The Room” has been updated on PC to address various problems. You can find it on GOG’s store (with a 30% discount until April 3rd) and enjoy enhanced compatibility with Windows 10 and 11, as well as a fix for the Alt + Tab bug.
Notable improvements also encompass compatibility with contemporary controllers such as DualSense Edge and Nvidia Shield, along with hot-plugging capabilities and haptic feedback. The audio and spatial sound have been enhanced for a more harmonious listening experience, while the default brightness and gamma levels closely mimic those found in the original PlayStation 2 version.
Yet, arguably the most notable enhancement is the reintroduction of the omitted haunting incidents, thereby providing a genuine Silent Hill 4 encounter. For further information, please refer to the complete update notes provided below.
For upcoming titles, the next major installment is called Silent Hill f, produced by NeoBards Entertainment for Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and PC.
