Silent Hill f Offers Enhanced Graphics Mode on PS5 Pro

Konami and NeoBards Entertainment unveiled a fresh trailer for the upcoming installment of the psychological horror series, Silent Hill, named simply “f”. The preview offered glimpses into the gameplay and the dreadful creatures that Hinako, the protagonist, will encounter. Notably, this game promises to run smoothly not only on standard PS5 consoles but also on the advanced PS5 Pro model, catering to a wider range of players.

What additional features does it provide? As Series producer Motoi Okamoto mentioned on the PlayStation Blog, there’s an Enhanced Graphics Mode that “maintains graphical clarity at a consistent frame rate.” Although this doesn’t specify the resolution and frame rate, he emphasized that players could experience “a smoother, more visually appealing combat encounter.

If it’s similar to Bloober Team’s remake of Silent Hill 2, the upcoming Silent Hill game might offer Performance and Quality settings on standard consoles. The Performance mode would run at 60 frames per second, while the Quality mode would offer a higher resolution, but at 30 frames per second. We’ll have to wait and see, but let’s hope that the PlayStation SSR (Super Sampling Rendering) implementation on the Pro console works smoothly.

The game titled Silent Hill is set to release on September 25th, and you can now pre-order it! On July 4th, the creative team behind the project, including Okamoto, composer Akira Yamaoka, and writer Ryukishi07, will be hosting a panel at AnimeExpo to provide more insights into the game. Keep an eye out for further updates in the meantime.
