Silent Hill: The Short Message Crosses 3 Million Downloads

As a seasoned gamer with over three decades under my belt, I must say that Hexadrive’s Silent Hill: The Short Message has truly sent shivers down my spine, making it an unmissable addition to my ever-growing horror game collection. Having traversed the labyrinthine corridors of the original Silent Hill back in 1999, I can attest that this Unreal Engine 5-powered reimagining has successfully captured the eerie atmosphere and unsettling dread that made the franchise a staple of the genre.

Hexadrive’s “Silent Hill: The Short Message” has surpassed a total of three million downloads since its release in January. This title is currently accessible for free on PlayStation 5, and its latest significant achievement was reaching 2.5 million downloads back in May.

In the first-person horror game developed by Unreal Engine 5, the protagonist, Anita, stirs to life in a dilapidated apartment building. Her close friend Maya communicates that Anita can’t depart until she locates something elusive. As Anita navigates her journey, memories of their bond resurface while she evades a haunting creature shrouded by cherry blossoms.

Regarding the upcoming developments for the franchise, Bloober Team is set to unveil their remake of Konami’s 2001 hit, Silent Hill 2, on October 8th, available on PS5 and PC. You can preview the gameplay here. Additionally, projects such as No Code’s Silent Hill: Townfall and NeoBards Entertainment’s untitled Silent Hill title are underway, though specific release dates have not been disclosed at this time.
