Silo Exec Teases "Really, Really Scary" Season 2 of Apple TV+ Series

As a huge fan of Apple TV+’s “Silo,” I can’t contain my excitement for the upcoming second season! The unique blend of drama, murder mystery, and sci-fi elements in the first season left me on the edge of my seat, and producer Graham Yost’s recent hints about the new episodes being “really, really scary” only adds to my anticipation.

Part of what made the debut season of Apple TV+’s Silo so compelling is how it blended together themes of drama and a murder mystery into the world of sci-fi, and while that blend of tones is expected to continue in Season 2, producer Graham Yost also hinted that the reveals of the new episodes will be “really, really scary.” A key component of that tension is based on how Rebecca Ferguson’s Juliette left her silo, inspiring a potential rebellion, yet what she finds outside of the silo could show the cost of such a rebellion. Silo Season 2 doesn’t yet have a release date.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Yost shared, “A whisper of revolt is emerging since Juliette crossed a boundary. Yet, a grim reminder of the potential consequences if such uprising fails lies in the other silo, where every soul perished. This dilemma forms the core conflict for this season.”

Based on my experience as a seasoned farmer, I can understand Juliette’s predicament. Her situation is a common challenge for farmers who manage multiple silos or storage facilities. One silo is with her, possibly filled with valuable crops, while another is back at her home farm, potentially facing an imminent threat. She is acutely aware of the potential danger and feels deeply concerned about it. The urgency in her voice suggests that something serious could be happening there. As a farmer myself, I know how important it is to address such issues promptly to prevent any losses or damages. Juliette’s concern for both silos reflects her dedication and commitment to her farm and crops. It’s a delicate balancing act that requires quick thinking, prioritization, and effective communication with her team. I empathize with Juliette and hope she finds a solution soon to mitigate the risk and ensure the safety of her valuable assets.

In simple terms, “Silo” is a story about the final 10,000 survivors of humanity, living in a massive underground shelter shielding them from the hazardous world above. The origin and motive behind this construction remain unknown, with fatal consequences for those who dare to investigate. Rebecca Ferguson portrays Juliette, an engineer, driven by her desire to uncover the truth about a loved one’s murder. Her quest, however, reveals a mystery much greater than she anticipated, eventually forcing her to confront the fact that sometimes, the truth can be more deadly than lies.

In the upcoming premier episode, Yost hinted at what fans should anticipate, since it’s been established that Juliette survived her breakout from the silo, but this doesn’t necessarily mean she can relax.

“Juliette is struggling greatly to enter that other compartment, as her oxygen supply in her suit is nearly depleted,” Yost playfully hinted. “The ingeniously placed insulation Harriet Walter prepared for Juliette’s suit, unfortunately, will malfunction. Much of the episode focuses on Juliette’s desperate attempts to keep alive and deal with the intricate engineering issues.”

In the episode, Juliette is discovered trying to survive on her own in an abandoned silo. She gradually uncovers its secrets. At a certain moment, she suspects she may not be the only inhabitant. The finale holds a surprising revelation.

As an avid gamer and a huge fan of “Silo” Season 2, I’m thrilled that the show will be making an appearance at San Diego Comic-Con this very weekend. Who knows, we might just get our hands on the first sneak peek of what’s to come in the upcoming episodes!

Stay tuned for updates on the new season of Silo.
