Simone Biles Has THIS Special Role at 2024 Olympics Closing Ceremony

As a lifelong fan of sports and music, I must say that the Closing Ceremony of the 2024 Olympics in Paris was nothing short of spectacular! From the Red Hot Chili Peppers serenading the Olympians with their infectious tunes to Tom Cruise’s death-defying stunts, it was an unforgettable show that perfectly encapsulated the spirit of the Games.

Simone Biles wasn’t among the Team USA members who walked in the Closing Ceremony procession.

At the conclusion of the 2024 Paris Olympics on August 11, the gymnastics superstar switched gears from competitor to collaborator by joining Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass at the kickoff event for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics. During this ceremony, France honored Olympic history and awarded medals to the top women’s marathon runners from the 2024 Games. Simone, Karen, Paris mayor Anne Hidalgo, and Tony Estanguet (President of the Paris Organising Committee) shared the stage to receive the Olympic flag together.

In a continuation of the LA28 kickoff, Simone’s part was followed by H.E.R gracefully performing the National Anthem. Then, Tom Cruise soared into the Stade de France, where the ceremony was being held, grabbed the flag and escorted it to its new dwelling in Los Angeles. The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Billie Eilish, Snoop Dogg, and Dr. Dre then made a grand entrance to officially welcome the Olympics to LA. The event concluded with an emotional finale in Paris.

Indeed, Simone’s unique performance during the 2024 Paris Olympics Closing Ceremony takes place amidst a stir surrounding Olympic gymnastics.

On August 10th, the Court of Arbitration for Sport overturned the investigation that granted Jordan Chiles a bronze medal in the floor routine. The ruling stated that Jordan’s coach, Cecile Landi, missed the one-minute deadline for submitting her appeal; instead, she submitted it at one minute and four seconds. Consequently, the International Gymnastics Federation reinstated the initial ranking from the August 5th competition.

In case you missed it: Romania’s gymnast Ana Barbosu was in third place, but Cecile managed to submit a successful appeal regarding the difficulty of Ana’s routine which increased her score from 13.666 to 13.766, slightly surpassing Ana’s 13.700.

As a dedicated follower of sports, I’ve been following the recent controversy surrounding the International Olympic Committee’s decision to rescind Jordan’s bronze medal and award it to Ana, 18 instead. This decision has sparked widespread outrage, even among my fellow Team USA gymnasts like Simone, Suni Lee, Hezly Rivera, Jade Carey, and Aly Raisman, who have all voiced their concerns. Ana herself has also shared her thoughts on the matter.

Despite the initial decision, I can’t help but feel a glimmer of hope, for USA Gymnastics has chosen to challenge the verdict by presenting new evidence. This evidence claims that Cecile communicated with Olympic officials within the supposed one-minute limit, thus upholding the rules instead of violating them.

As a devoted follower, even though certain aspects of the 2024 Paris Olympics are still unfolding, join me as we delve into the spectacular moments of the Closing Ceremony.

On August 10, the Court of Arbitration for Sport overturned the investigation that resulted in Jordan Chiles earning the bronze medal in the floor routine. The court found that Jordan’s coach, Cecile Landi, did not submit her appeal within the allowed one-minute window, instead submitting it a full four seconds late. As a result, the International Gymnastics Federation restored the original rankings from the August 5 competition.

In case you missed it: Romania’s gymnast Ana Barbosu was initially in third place, but after Cecile successfully appealed the scoring of Jordan’s difficult routine, her score increased from 13.666 to 13.766. This new score, slightly higher than Ana’s 13.700, moved Cecile ahead of Ana.

The action leading to the International Olympic Committee revoking Jordan’s bronze medal and giving it to 18-year-old Ana instead, has sparked a significant amount of controversy, with reactions coming from fellow Team USA gymnasts Simone, Suni Lee, Hezly Rivera, Jade Carey, and Aly Raisman among others, as well as Ana herself expressing her thoughts on the matter.

Although the initial decision has been made, it’s important to note that USA Gymnastics has filed an appeal and presented evidence indicating that Cecile actually communicated with Olympic officials during the one-minute window, hence avoiding a rule violation.

But while one aspect of the 2024 Paris Olympics hasn’t come to an end just yet, keep reading to see all the highlights from the Closing Ceremony.
