Simpsons’ Treehouse of Horror Reveals Day of The Dead Intro: Watch

As a die-hard Simpsons fan who has grown up with the yellow family, I am absolutely thrilled about the upcoming Treehouse of Horror special! The fact that Jorge R. Gutierrez, whose work on “The Book of Life” and “Maya And The Three” I’ve admired for years, is at the helm of this year’s couch gag makes it even more exciting. His passion for the show and his unique artistic style are bound to create a visually stunning intro that will leave fans in awe!

It seems that “The Simpsons” may have no end in sight, given that their thirty-sixth season is once again diving into the eerie atmosphere associated with Halloween. Keeping up with the annual tradition of Treehouse of Horror specials, the upcoming Halloween episode is just days away. For the thirty-fifth installment of this spooky series, viewers can expect some thrilling surprises when the next episode airs on November 3rd. A sneak peek at the intro for this Halloween special, commonly known as “the couch gag”, has been leaked online and gives us a glimpse into what we might encounter in this new chilling episode.

The new intro is made by legendary animator Jorge R. Gutierrez. If you’re unfamiliar with this creator, he is partly responsible for the likes of The Book of Life, Super Macho Fighter, We The People, and Maya And The Three. In an interview with Variety, Gutierrez noted how being a part of the Treehouse of Horror was a dream come true, “I’ve been a huge ‘Simpsons’ fan ever since Bart first appeared in my beloved Tijuana in the classic ‘Kamp Krusty’ episode. I’m forever grateful to [executive producer] Matt Selman and [creator] Matt Groening for giving me the honor to direct my own passionate (and bloody!) animated love letter to the show that inspired me to dream of making cartoons one day. Now, I can die with a huge smile on my face. ¡VIVA LOS SIMPSONS!”

The Treehouse of Horror: Day of The Dead

With Gutierrez, composer Juan Carlos Enriquez is involved in the tribute for Day of the Dead. Here’s what he shared about being part of The Simpsons’ legacy: “For this unique introduction, I created and produced a punk/rock rendition of the well-known Mexican folk melody, the Jarabe Tapatío or Mexican Hat Dance. I incorporated some lively brass lines in corrido style into it. Additionally, we started the opening with the classic Simpsons theme tune, but instead of the original version, Jorge, our producer Tim Yoon and I sang it in Spanish, mimicking a traditional Mexican bolero trio performing at an old cantina.

Enriquez went on to say, “It’s a joy for me to work alongside talented artists such as Jorge. He has a distinct vision, and he tasks you with crafting an unusual, vibrant mix of elements. However, during the production phase, he grants you full creative license and motivates you to innovate and make it your unique piece.

Denim, Monty, And Rage

In the chilling tales of Treehouse of Horror, The Simpsons will present three spine-tingling stories. These stories are based on parodies of movies like Pacific Rim, Venom, and Winchester. Fortunately, Fox has shared an official summary that provides a sneak peek into the coming horror, “Massive monsters born from political anger could shatter our town, Mr. Burns encounters ghostly workers haunting him on Thanksgiving in a Victorian setting, and Homer embarks on a memorable stop-motion adventure with some out-of-this-world jeans – an experience so unique, it can only be called Denim.

The upcoming “Treehouse” isn’t the sole Halloween delight offered by The Simpsons; instead, fans can anticipate an extra episode titled “Simpsons Wicked This Way Comes,” due on November 10th. Given the Simpsons’ impressive track record with all things related to Halloween, it seems likely that Treehouses of Horror will continue to grace our television screens as long as Homer, Marge, Lisa, Bart, and Maggie remain in the picture.
