The Sister Wives star is opening up about her complicated finances in the wake of her 2022 split from ex Kody Brown.
In a September 22 episode of TLC’s series, it was disclosed by Janelle that the ownership of financial assets belonging to Robyn Brown, Kody’s only remaining legal spouse, is still under discussion. This is due to the fact that all four wives, including Christine Brown and Meri Brown (now ex-wives as well), collectively contributed towards the down payment for Robyn’s home in Flagstaff, Arizona. Janelle claims that Kody refused to let her put her name on the mortgage at the time.
According to Janelle, she mentioned to her daughter Madison Brush that when she deposited the money into the house, she suggested that all their names should be on the mortgage for fairness. However, Kody responded by saying they needed to safeguard Robyn’s assets, ensuring they were solely in her name and also jointly owned between them.
Following her separation from Kody, Janelle expresses a desire to recover some of the funds she put towards Robyn’s house.
In her private thoughts, Robyn expresses that the boundaries of obligations within the family are unclear. She explains, “We worked together for such a long time and only stopped recently.” When Janelle mentions that Robyn and Kody owe her something, Robyn wonders, “How do you calculate? How do you determine that amount? It’s all so puzzling.
After Janelle accuses Kody of not discussing Coyote Pass and their joint assets with her, he admits to this by stating, “I’ve had enough of revealing details that get distorted in the rumor mill of our troubled family.
However, at an impasse, Janelle suggests she may end up having to take legal action.
Janelle mentions that she needs to settle Coyote Pass’s debt, but he hasn’t spoken about it with her. She believes she might need a lawyer to help resolve this issue since she thinks he won’t make a decision without one.
It’s possible that Kody is postponing discussions about Coyote Pass because he has other financial obligations that need to be settled beforehand, according to Janelle’s perspective.
She explains to Madison, “However, I’ve observed him accumulating assets, not just buying them and leaving them in trailers, but he does. He does a lot of that, you know, with various items. I see all the art on their walls, all these things, and it’s okay. We also spend money on such things.
Meanwhile, as the drama surrounding the Flagstaff house unfolds in the current season of Sister Wives, filmed towards the end of 2022, it’s worth noting that on August 29th, Kody and Robyn’s home was listed for sale at a price of $1.65 million.
