Sister Wives: Janelle Brown Slams Robyn and Kody’s “Poor Parenting”

As I delve into the captivating lives of the Brown family, I find myself truly amazed by their unique journey. Each member has their own story to tell, yet it is the resilience and unwavering love that binds them together that truly stands out.

Janelle Brown is no longer holding back when it comes to her criticisms of her ex Kody Brown.

A notable figure from the “Sister Wives” series voiced criticisms towards her ex-spouse and his current wife Robyn Brown, regarding the upbringing of their youngest child, Ariella Brown, who is 8 years old, within a multi-partner household.

Janelle explained during the September 29th episode of Sister Wives, “From the start, my children understood that their father wouldn’t always be around.” She added, “I’ve always felt that Kody and Robyn mishandled the situation with their kids. Ari gets so upset when Kody is away for more than three or four days, which I believe shows poor parenting. However, our other children managed without a problem, and they’ve turned out to be well-adjusted adults.

Kody shared that during Ariella’s infancy, he found it difficult to be away from her for extended periods because she had a strong emotional reaction to his absence.

18-year-old Ariella was having a tantrum, as her father remembered. She clung to his leg and refused to let him go. He pleaded with Robyn, “Robyn, I need you to pull her off me.” To which Robyn responded, “She’s releasing her feelings. You’ll have to wait five minutes and let her do it.” Ariella was dragging along his leg, yelling, “Don’t leave me, Daddy! Don’t leave me!” He sighed, “Oh man, this is tough.

Nevertheless, even though her daughter was facing difficulties, Robyn, who has five children with Kody, did not agree that she was deliberately keeping Kody away from his other spouses at that moment.

Robyn confirmed that Ariella adores her father and prefers his company. However, this affection didn’t prevent Kody from visiting another mother’s house, as Robyn clarified, ‘No, it never did. I wouldn’t have permitted it.’

Following Kody’s separation from Christine in 2021, his subsequent splits with Janelle in 2022 and Meri in 2023, there is growing tension as his ex-partners are highlighting the differences between their past relationships with Kody compared to those he has with Robyn.

As for me, I’ve always felt a distinct distance with Robyn. In fact, my kids would often be reprimanded if they ever dared to peek inside her refrigerator.

Regarding Christine, the mother of six shared by Kody, she has expressed her thoughts on how Kody’s preference towards Robyn may have affected their children.

She explained that her children disliked visiting that place since they discovered that Robyn and their father were in a relationship, and he was not present at their home. As a result, they felt upset or frustrated.

However, even though Kody is currently married solely to Robyn, she has faced challenges due to the dissolution of her multi-spousal family unit.

She shared that she’s currently experiencing deep sorrow, loss, and grief over her relationships, as well as dealing with a form of depression stemming from the situation. In essence, she’s feeling incredibly sad because she misses her family members.

Sister Wives airs Sundays at 10 p.m. ET on TLC.

As a connoisseur of life, let me share with you my personal background: I was born on May 21st, 1994, making me the firstborn among the progeny of Kody Brown and his beloved partner, Janelle Brown. Being the eldest, I am not only a son to Kody but also the eldest among the eighteen children that form his extraordinary family brood.

Following his attainment of a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from the University of Nevada in 2020, he tied the knot with Michelle Petty two years thereafter.

Aspyn is the oldest child of Kody and Christine Brown. She was born on March 14, 1995.

Also a University of Nevada alum, Aspyn tied the knot with Mitch Thompson in 2018.

Born on July 29, 1995, Leon is the only child of Kody and Meri Brown.

In 2020, Leon came out as transgender, sharing that they were previously “socialized as a girl.”

In a post on Instagram, Leon (also known as Leo) expressed that they were quite young when they grew up in an environment marked by strong gender roles and limitations. However, Leon is now ready to openly embrace their true self with the world. This authentic self is multifaceted, embracing genderqueer, trans, and unapologetic identities.

Leon married Audrey Kiss in 2020 at a Colorado courthouse wedding.

The second of Kody and Christine’s children, Mykelti was born on June 9, 1996.

In the year 2016, she got married to Antonio “Tony” Padron. Their nuptials were filmed for the television show “Sister Wives”. The family comprises of daughter Avalon and twin sons Archer and Ace.

Janelle gave birth to Madison—her second child with Kody—on Nov. 3, 1995.

Following her education at Utah State University, Madison tied the knot with Caleb Brush in 2016. Together, they have three children: Axel, Evangalynn, and Josephine.

Janelle and Kody welcomed Hunter—their third child together—on Feb. 9, 1997.

In the year 2020, after finishing his education at the U.S. Air Force Academy, Hunter proceeded with nursing studies at Johns Hopkins University.

Kristine gave birth to her and Kody’s third child together on Aug. 7, 1998.

Garrison, who was born on October 31, 1998, was the third-youngest child of Kody and Janelle. Tragically, he passed away on March 5, 2024, at the age of 25.

As a lifestyle expert, I’d put it this way: I am Dayton, who joined the Brown family in 2015. Prior to that, I was the eldest child born from Robyn Brown’s previous marriage with Preston Jessop. Five years before my adoption, Robyn and Kody made a spiritual commitment to each other, marking the beginning of their journey together as a couple within the family structure we all share today.

2014 saw Kody finalize his divorce from his initial spouse, Meri, allowing him to wed Robyn and legally adopt Dayton as his own child.

Nicknamed Gabe, the fifth child of Kody and Janelle was born on Oct. 11, 2001.

Kody and Christine welcomed their fourth child on Oct. 15, 2001.

Gwendlyn tied the knot with Beatriz Queiroz in 2023.

As a die-hard fan, let me share some exciting news! Aurora, the girl I adore, isn’t just any ordinary sibling to Robyn; she’s her second-born. But here’s the twist – in 2015, when Kody tied the knot with Robyn, our beloved Aurora became part of his family through legal adoption!

Kody and Christine welcomed their fifth child together on June 13, 2003.

Her struggles with scoliosis have been documented on Sister Wives.

Breanna is Robyn’s third-born child, who she had with her husband Preston. Following Robyn’s remarriage to Kody, Breanna and her elder siblings went through a legal process to become part of their new family.

On December 7, 2004, Kody and Janelle became parents to their youngest child as a couple. Years later, in the year 2023, their former partners came together once more to celebrate Savannah’s high school graduation.

Born on April 13, 2010, Truely is the youngest child of Kody and Christine.

Kody and Robyn welcomed their second youngest son on Oct. 27, 2011.

As a lifestyle guide, I find myself reflecting upon my own journey as a newcomer to this vast Brown family tree. I was welcomed into the fold on the tenth day of January, 2016, a beacon of youth and promise amidst the dynamic tapestry that is the Brown clan. As the youngest daughter graced by the union of Kody and Robyn, I am humbled to bear the title of the youngest among the eighteen vibrant souls that make up our family’s rich legacy.
