As I delve into the lives of these remarkable individuals from the Brown family, I am struck by their journeys and the profound moments they have shared. Each story is unique, yet intertwined with love, growth, and resilience.
Kody Brown isn’t going down until he’s offended everyone.
In the reality show “Sister Wives,” the ex-polygamist leader continues to seek confrontation, as three out of his four wives – Christine Brown, Janelle Brown, and Meri Brown – have departed from him. However, he displays particular ferocity towards Meri, his first wife who legally dissolved their spiritual union in early 2023, following years of emotional distance.
In the latest trailer for season 19 of the TLC show, Kody says to Meri, “What’s really difficult isn’t divorce. It’s ending up with the wrong partner.”
Meri is accusing others of deceit, expressing her frustration in a private conversation, “It’s unfortunate to marry someone who isn’t right for you and only confess after 32 years.”
Kody is determined to stand his ground and isn’t holding back on sharp remarks. In a private conversation, he admitted, “I regret ever marrying her,” and later told his former spouse, “Let me clarify, things have always been perplexing since the beginning.”
As a long-time fan who has followed the ups and downs of the Brown family for years, I can’t help but feel frustrated by Meri’s situation with Kody this time around. It seems like she’s finally had enough and is standing up for herself, which is something that I wish I could have done in her place years ago. The way Kody has treated her, especially lately, is just not right and it’s about time he faced the consequences of his actions. Meri deserves better, and I hope that she finds the strength to keep pushing back against Kody and demanding the respect that she deserves.
In keeping with his usual behavior, Kody refuses to accept any responsibility for his failed marriages.
In a heartfelt outburst, he says, “It’s on you if I don’t feel love for you.” He also expresses confusion and hurt by asking, “What actions of mine led to this situation? Where did I go wrong?”
Expressing a phrase he’s been using for several seasons, Kody refers to the current situation with his exes as “an all-out civil conflict.” Despite leaving him, Christine and Janelle have maintained their friendship, while his remaining spouse, Robyn Brown, confesses, “I feel like I’m the one who got left behind.”
Although Kody kept trying to persuade her to reconsider, Janelle – who parted ways with Kody in 2022 – is no longer looking back and instead is mainly concerned with recovering the funds for their unfinished Coyote Pass property.
In videos captured between early and mid-2023, Christine is noticeably fond of her partner, David Woolley, as he encounters her long-separated family at a social gathering (later in 2023, the pair would marry in October).
As Meri succinctly puts it, “I need to find a man.”
Sister Wives’ season 19 premiere airs Sunday, Sept. 15 at 10 p.m. ET on TLC.

In January 2024, one year following their split announcement, Meri admitted on Instagram that she had been seeing Amos Andrews since October of the previous year. However, in February 2024, Meri also shared on Instagram that their relationship had ended.
In a playful remark on the show “Sister Wives,” Kody Brown once jested about meeting Robyn in 2009, who was then a single mom with a van, three children, and had been divorced. He thought to himself, “I don’t need a divorced woman, a van, and three kids added to my life – that’s just trouble.” However, after more than a decade, they are still together, with two additional children, Solomon and Ariella, in the family. Expanding their group is not something they’re considering at this time. Robyn expressed her difficulty with this idea during the December “Sister Wives: One on One” special, stating that it feels disrespectful to replace one sister wife with another, which she finds particularly hard.
After making their relationship official on Valentine’s Day 2023, Christine Brown expressed her joy by saying, “I’ve finally found the man of my dreams – David Woolley. The first time he held me close, it felt like my soul was rejuvenated. He is kind and considerate, a fantastic father to my children, and an endearing grandfather. I never thought I could find such profound love.”
In the beginning, among the eighteen Brown siblings, it was Madison Brown, Janelle’s eldest daughter, who became the first to get married. At a 2016 outdoor wedding in Montana, recorded by TLC’s cameras, she wed Caleb Brush. Fast-forwarding nearly seven years, they have expanded their love with Josephine being born, joining her older brother Axel, who is 6, and sister Evie, who is 4, in February this year. Maddie, based in North Carolina, expressed her feelings on Instagram in March: “A family of five for one month now, my heart is bursting with joy. I didn’t know that such a sense of tranquility could exist amidst the chaos.”
Four years following the airing of their engagement on TLC’s reality show, Meri Brown’s sole child, Leon Brown, aged 28, has moved to Denver with his partner, Audrey Kriss. In a gush of affection, Leon referred to Audrey as “my sweetest symphony.” He added, “Life with you is truly sweet.” Similarly, Audrey expressed her feelings, stating, “It’s an honor and a source of joy for me to be your partner and witness your personal growth and self-discovery over the years.”
As a lifestyle expert, I’d put it like this: I, as a proud parent, found immense joy witnessing my eldest child, Logan Brown, tie the knot with his long-term love, Michelle Petty, in Arizona last October. The day was nothing short of breathtaking, and my heart swelled with happiness throughout the entire ceremony. There’s an undeniable sense of tranquility that comes from seeing your children find truly remarkable life partners.
Six years after her 2016 marriage with Antonio “Tony” Padron, Mykelti Brown playfully mentioned that they had pushed the boundaries of their wedding vows by having twins Archer and Ace join their family in November 2022. The 27-year-old jokingly added, “We have three children and four relocations under our belts. We’ve experienced a lot of joyous moments as well as some challenging ones (#surprisetwins). Yet, we’re still navigating this marriage journey together.”
Over the past five years since their wedding, Aspyn Brown (age 28) and her husband Mitch Thompson have explored places as diverse as Paris and Alaska. However, in December of last year, they decided to settle down, with Mitch posting on Instagram, “We’ve just purchased our first home! Perfect timing for Christmas.”
Prior to completing their first year together, Christine’s daughter Gwendlyn Brown and her partner Beatriz Queiroz visited the most joyful destination on the planet. They celebrated half a year of being a couple with a chocolate fondue. The heartwarming moment followed. In November 2022, the 22-year-old offered a sneak peek at their candlelit, rose-filled proposal on Instagram, expressing her excitement by saying, “I’m engaged!!”. Later, they announced their marriage in July 2023 on Instagram with the caption: “Meet Mrs. (x2) Queiroz.”
