As a compassionate observer, I cannot help but feel a deep sense of empathy for each of these individuals navigating their personal lives and relationships amidst the complexities of the polygamous lifestyle. The Brown family, particularly, seems to be grappling with profound emotional turmoil, as they struggle to find harmony within their unique dynamic.

In the latest season (19) of their reality show “Sister Wives”, the 29-year-old daughter, who is also Kody Brown’s child, openly discussed her strained relationship with her father. Previously estranged, she recently shared her perspective on why she and her family have chosen to distance themselves from Kody Brown.
In a recent episode of my podcast, “The Authentic Society,” I openly discussed some personal family matters. You see, there are certain individuals with whom I’ve chosen to disconnect due to past events. As for Kody, his lack of regard for boundaries and insistence on playing by his rules is simply not something I wish to accommodate anymore.
The mother of three children – Axel (age 7), Evie (5 years old), and Josephine (21 months) – who is married to Caleb Brush, has grown distant from her father following their parents’ separation in 2022.
In my own words, I shared, “When posed with a question, I always speak honestly, and this would often make my father angry. He’d express his displeasure when I’d say something like, ‘I don’t understand why you’re surprised.’ This was one of the reasons I chose to cut off contact, as it felt like I was reflecting an unwelcome truth.
She mentioned that the father of 18 expressed dissent towards some of her perspectives regarding their shared emotions as well as those of her siblings.
In her words, ‘There was a great deal of disagreement, and he would often say, ‘That’s not correct!’ To which I would respond, ‘It actually is. I have personal knowledge of it.’
Similarly, Maddie is not interested in strangers’ opinions on her relationship with her dad.
She stated, “People often message me saying, ‘You ought to forgive and honor your father,’ but I respond, ‘Perhaps you’re not fully aware of the situation between me and my father, as our experiences may differ greatly.’
Kody, who parted ways with Christine Brown, Meri Brown, and Janelle Brown over a three-year period, is now left with just one relationship, his marriage to Robyn Brown. The COVID pandemic seems to have strained his relationships with most of his older children due to his perceived favoritism towards Robyn.
In a recent episode of “Sister Wives,” Janelle conveyed to Kody that their children have been distancing themselves from him due to complex reasons. She expressed her predicament by saying, “The kids are finding it hard to connect with you. There’s a lot of intricate details, and I can’t be the go-between.

Kody Brown expressed his readiness to separate from his first wife, Meri Brown, not long after they exchanged vows in 1990. However, as shared during the premiere on September 15, he gave her reason to hope that things would improve by saying, “Meri, when we move to Flagstaff, this will be a fresh start for us.” This was one of many instances where Kody led Meri to believe things would change, only for him to continue his pattern of behavior over the years.
She expressed her primary concern as his inconsistent communication regarding his true feelings, desires, and dislikes, along with the narrative he has been presenting for many years.
Kody conceded that there might have been some confusing signals, but he admitted feeling perplexed when he began working on projects and thought, “What’s the point of doing this?” He clarified that he would no longer pursue a romantic relationship with her at present.
Either way, Meri’s friends were thrilled when she finally pulled the plug in early 2023.
She admitted, “They essentially said, ‘We’re with you, we’re on your side. And it’s about high time,'” she confessed. Removing her blinders, she now believes that for years he had been subtly encouraging her to leave by denying his love, “As it turns out, if he could make me walk away and I did, he wouldn’t be the villain because he didn’t abandon ship.
All these years since our family acquired that breathtaking 14-acre piece of land in Flagstaff, Ariz., I’ve harbored a dream within my heart. But as the season premiered, I found myself admitting to my dearest Robyn Brown that the time has come for this dream to fade. You see, the reality is we can’t move forward with construction until we’ve settled the full payment of $820,000 – a debt we reportedly paid off in 2023. Overwhelmed by these financial constraints, I found myself almost longing for an opportunity to either abandon this land or sell it and begin anew somewhere else.
As for Robyn, “I can’t talk about that,” she responded. “That is so not where I’m at.”
Previously, Janelle Brown expressed to TopMob News that the relationship gradually drifted away, but ultimately, it was Kody’s shortcomings as a parent to some of their children that led her to part ways.

In the November 3rd episode, reconciliation was an absolute no-go for Janelle when Kody proposed it.
She expressed that finding a way to reconnect with him while he doesn’t maintain a relationship with her children is beyond her reach. However, she made it clear that she will always prioritize her children.
Kody offered this as the reason behind his lack of effort to bridge the gaps arising from conflicts with some of his grown-up kids: he wasn’t exerting himself more to fix the issues.
In last week’s episode, I expressed my feelings of disconnection, saying, “I no longer feel part of our family.” Despite being legally married to Robyn and sharing the responsibility of our five beautiful children – Dayton, Aurora, Breanna, Solomon, and Ariella – I find myself maintaining a limited relationship with some of the other kids as well. It’s not often that we connect, leaving me wondering, “What is my role here? This doesn’t feel like a family to me.
Even though they were genuinely committed to each other for the first time in their 14-year marriage during this phase, Robyn admitted in the season 19 opener that things have been particularly challenging between them. “Things have been difficult for us,” she said. “Kody is uncertain about who to blame – himself or one of the other wives. He feels a lot of rejection and I believe he’s questioning whether I might reject him too.
Due to this situation, she admitted, “I’m always alert. I constantly have to ensure he isn’t undermining our relationship.” In summary, she found it most challenging: “There’s no guidance available on dealing with the fact that I’m still married to a man who keeps getting divorced.
As for me, I found myself grappling with a bout of self-doubt, confessing, “I just can’t bring myself to look in the mirror and tell myself, ‘Hey, buddy. I adore you.’
For Robyn, it was tough to see her ex-sister wives thriving in their latest phase. As she put it during the October 27th episode, “They’re all advancing, I seem to be the one who’s been left behind.
Include Madison, Janelle’s eldest child, on the list of kids who are currently not in a relationship with Kody. According to Janelle, Maddie hasn’t spoken to her father for some time. “He hasn’t called, she hasn’t contacted him either,” Janelle said during the premiere. “There is no connection between them and Robin at the moment. She has effectively cut ties with both of them.
The primary concern, as stated by Janelle, revolves around Kody not fully engaging in a relationship with Maddie’s children Axel, Evangalynn, and Josephine. She expressed that she only wants him to maintain contact if he is prepared to make a firm commitment towards it.
During the September 22 broadcast, Janelle revealed that Kody had essentially stopped communicating with Maddie and her husband Caleb Brush when their family unit began to disintegrate significantly.
Without Kody being around or reaching out, Maddie has taken on a very protective role, as expressed by Janelle. She feels that until he can be reliable, present without drama, it might be best for them not to acknowledge his presence.
Additionally, Robyn mentioned that she’s been urging Kody to take steps towards reconciliation. She expressed, “It seems fitting that the children should also make an effort in this direction as well.
At present, I find myself not quite prepared to mend the rift, as I’ve grown weary of our conversations turning into a source of gossip for others. Every time I interact with my daughter, it seems like that’s what happens.
During their 32nd anniversary celebration, “He hinted that he never truly loved me and felt compelled to marry me,” Meri confided in her friend Brandi on the September 15th premiere. I responded by saying, “‘Kody,’ I said, ‘I know you cared for me.’
And if he didn’t, the mom to Leon Brown said in a confessional, why did he ever propose?
She pondered, “Why would a solitary man decide to marry a solitary woman if he didn’t already feel love for her? It seems so heartless! To select one from many and then say, ‘I choose you, hoping to manufacture affection for the next three decades’?
In Kody’s private reflection, he said: “Meri is making some allegations. Well, let her say what she will. I won’t be responding to them.
Though, he would share that they never enjoyed a honeymoon period.
He emphatically stated during the October 20th episode that their marriage was in trouble throughout its entirety. He claimed to have a stronger connection with Janelle, Christine, and Robyn, which is why he knew this.
He admitted he “should have gotten out of the relationship 25 years ago,” but he stayed out of fear, noting, “Leadership will never allow you to marry again if you’re discarding wives.”
Despite being unsure whether to develop Coyote Pass or just sell it, Janelle realized the first step was clearing the debt on the Arizona property. Since Kody refused to discuss the matter with her, she admitted to her former sister wife, Christine Brown, in the September 22 episode that “I feel like I’m going to need legal representation.” This, she believes, is the only way she can possibly get him to make a decision.
In her own words, Janelle admitted that since she doesn’t have a legally binding marriage with Kody, “I don’t actually have any legal grounds to assert any kind of claim on Kody’s property.” She explained further, “It’s not as simple as contacting a lawyer to initiate a divorce. The situation is more complex because there’s no legal marriage in place.
Kody chose not to discuss the Arizona property with Janelle because he had lost trust in her.
He made it clear during the September 22 episode that he will settle the property when necessary, and he’s choosing to keep his actions private for now since he’s grown weary of sharing details that get distorted by the rumor mill in our fractured family.
A bit of a pot calling the kettle black, Janelle said in her own interview.
She mentioned, “He spills secrets as if he’s got holes in him.” What he shared with me about his previous relationships and wives made me feel uneasy, because it seemed as though he shouldn’t have been discussing those matters with me.
In the days when their affection for each other continued to grow instead of wane, they would combine their savings in a common fund.
In simpler terms, Janelle said during the September 22 broadcast that we would pool all our resources to aid one individual, followed by uniting as a group to back up another person. This was the norm until around the last decade or so. However, it seems like now it’s more about personal wealth and everyone wanting their own estates instead.
When Robyn required a house in Arizona, they collectively contributed towards purchasing a 5-bedroom property valued at approximately $1.65 million, which had been put up for sale in August.
Initially, Robyn mentioned that the property would benefit the entire family. However, when Janelle proposed they all share the mortgage responsibility, she encountered resistance. Kody argued, “We need to safeguard, understandably protect Robyn’s inheritance,” as Janelle later recounted. Now that she’s leaving the family, Janelle expresses her desire to claim her share of the Coyote Pass earnings and recover some of the funds she invested in Robyn’s home.
But that could be a tough sell.
I’ve been side by side with these folks for quite a while now,” I mused aloud. And when Janelle mentioned she was yet to receive her dues, I couldn’t help but exclaim, “It’s just… how do you crunch the numbers? How do you sort it all out? It’s such a puzzling situation!
Expressing her frustration about the unpaid bills at Coyote Pass, Janelle commented that Kody often mentioned having multiple debts. However, she observed that he frequently purchased trailers and home decorations, as well as admiring the art on Robyn and Kody’s walls. “I see all these possessions,” she said, acknowledging that she herself had spent money on things too. (In his defense, Kody stated that a significant portion of his funds were allocated towards buying cars—he even boasted about having a fleet—and insuring the children.)
Janelle admitted that she wasn’t clear about Kody and Robyn’s financial management, but she often found herself amazed by the beauty of Robyn’s backyard, which was perfectly landscaped. It always seemed well-stocked, and Janelle would exclaim, “Wow, really? Huh!” when visiting.
In essence, she explained, “He didn’t seem to value my needs or desires.” Over time, this became increasingly apparent, and even her grown children expressed their frustration, asking, “What on earth, Mom?
In a nutshell, Robyn became more cautious with her finances following the breakdown of her initial marriage.
In the September 22 episode, she confided that she hadn’t always been good with finances. She explained that growing up, she faced numerous challenges, and it was during her divorce that she truly grasped the importance of budgeting wisely. Regarding her fellow sister wives, she suggested they may have prioritized their spending differently than she did.
Currently, in the September 22 episode, Janelle admitted that although she and Meri, Robyn, and Kody (parents of Aspyn Brown, Mykelti Brown Padron, Paedon Brown, Gwendlyn Brown, Ysabel Brown, and Truely Brown) often gather with their families, there is little to no contact between them. She doesn’t anticipate this situation changing significantly in the near future.
Speaking fondly about their stay on a single cul-de-sac in Las Vegas, Kody reminisced, “Those days were the best of my life. Everything ran smoothly with Maddie and Caleb around. It was truly wonderful having them near, and I held a special affection for Caleb; he felt like family.
However, discord arose in Arizona concerning coronavirus safety measures, and it only worsened from there. Similarly, when his marriages ended, he lamented that his connections with his children deteriorated too: “That’s when all the bonds turned sour.
But Christine insisted their were issues well before she announced she was leaving in late 2021.
She stated during the September 22 broadcast that the children who seemed upset had been feeling that way long before she departed. It appears her departure didn’t alter the dynamics of Kody’s relationships with his kids. Kody still has the chance to mend his connections with his children.
Though it’ll definitely take some work.
Kody expressed his frustration about how he’s been dealt with, stating, “I haven’t moved past it yet.” He clarified, “I refuse to accept blame for things my wife or ex-wife claims I did. I can only hope that the resentment will fade over time, allowing us to find forgiveness and restore our love once more.
Back in our early days, Meri and I were acquaintances rather than close friends when we tied the knot at just 21 and 19 years old, spiritually and legally. Fast forward to 2014, we decided to part ways, allowing Kody to legally adopt Robyn’s three eldest children from her previous marriage.
In our marriage, she was noticeably different from what I expected, and I believe there were some past issues (or ‘baggage’) she was carrying that I wasn’t aware of. Initially, I thought I could adapt to the situation. However, he stated that everything seemed to be a source of conflict, and he found it impossible to coexist in a world where she frequently expressed anger towards him.
Despite his desire to leave, he found himself unable to do so because of the constraints of his plural marriage. Kody explained, “If one wishes to remain faithful and adhere to our faith, a divorce is not an option. It’s forbidden. Consequently, I couldn’t escape from that relationship. However, I wasn’t yearning to exit the relationship entirely. Instead, I wanted to explore if we could salvage and repair it.
Therefore, the conflicting signals, he admitted that Meri believed they could resolve everything. However, whenever they were together, Kody stated, “She wasn’t pleasant, she wasn’t amusing, she wasn’t compassionate, she wasn’t engaging. I’m trying to be interested in her, but I’m growing tired.
He acknowledged that it was understandable for Meri to feel deserted, but he clarified, “However, none of them forced me out; instead, it was their decision to let me depart from our shared home.
Despite not requiring a divorce as their union wasn’t legally recognized, Meri sought a formal separation, known as a “release,” from their church in the last months of 2022, which Janelle and Christine did not feel compelled to do.
In the September 22 episode, she clarified that all four of us entered into a covenant with Kody through our church when we got married. Since it’s not legally binding for all of us, I think it’s appropriate to dissolve this relationship as none of us are planning to marry him anymore. I don’t wish to remain tied to him forever if he doesn’t want me, so I prefer a clean break – no ties for eternity, if you will.
Kody was hesitant about the concept, she noted, preferring not to recognize or submit to the leadership of the church officials.
Kody clarified his position: “The harm is so severe that we can’t reconcile, regardless of the circumstances.” He further expressed, “I don’t want to be answerable to this church and its nonsense, as I believe God will hold us accountable separately.” Therefore, he decided to let Meri pursue her own path because if he remained angry at her, it would lead to arguments. He needed her to move on because it took her a long time to acknowledge that the situation was long overdue for years.
Over the 2021 holiday gift exchange, things took an unfortunate turn for the 18 Brown children. As Christine put it, “Things just spiraled out of control, things went awry.” It seemed that Kody, Robyn, and their kids were aligned against Janelle, me, and our children. This text conversation led to a division within the group.
In simple terms, Robyn stated that her older children felt the interaction was uncomfortable and thought it would be best for them to distance themselves from the relationship temporarily. However, she clarified that this didn’t mean they never wanted to see her again or have any contact with her. Instead, they were expressing that things had become awkward between them.
For his part, Gabriel is hoping that they could find their way back to each other.
“The thing I want most is to just have a relationship with Robyn’s children again,” he confessed in the Oct. 13 episode. “In middle school, Aurora was my favorite person to hang out with. And in high school, I would always try to hit Dayton up. But I’m, I’m not hopeful for a relationship with Dad And Robyn.”
Aurora asserted that she was told explicitly and on various occasions by different individuals that she was not welcomed into the family when her mother married Kody in 2010. They made it clear to her that she was not considered their sister, and they did not recognize or perceive her in that role.
As a lifestyle expert, I’d rephrase that sentiment as follows: My dear sibling, Breanna, expressed to me that our parents might have been more successful in fostering a stronger familial bond. Regrettably, such opportunities for connection seemed elusive throughout our childhood.
But Christine isn’t sure how they could have opened their arms any wider.
Robyn’s children and Robyn are always welcome at all events,” she emphasized. “In simple terms, they can feel free to drop by our home whenever they please.
Simultaneously, she mentioned, her daughter Ysabel Brown shared a strong bond with Robyn’s children, and in fact, Mykelti Brown Padron lived with them for a while. She explained, “There were challenging periods, and my children felt frustrated at times, but they viewed Robyn’s kids as their siblings just as closely.
Speaking enthusiastically about plural marriage, Janelle expressed, “When it works well, you become part of this fantastic family structure that surrounds you, a community where you belong. 2018 marked a pivotal point for me when our beloved Kody shifted households from Las Vegas to Arizona. As an ardent fan, I can’t help but feel the weight of his struggles as he grappled with dividing his affection in this new chapter.
On the September 29th episode, it was mentioned that when Kody relocated to Flagstaff, he found it simpler to stay distant. Occasionally, I had to remind him that he should visit my home. He’d often make excuses about being tired, but I’d respond, “You can rest just as effectively at my house as you can at Robyn’s.” This implies he was trying to find ways to avoid coming over.
According to Janelle, her kids were reprimanded for opening Robyn’s refrigerator, which suggested a sense of distance or separation they felt with Robyn. For Christine’s children, the problem stemmed from the fact that they recognized that Robyn was their father’s partner and he wasn’t residing in their household.
And Robyn said her crew definitely felt the divide.
In the September 29th episode, she mentioned that Meri welcomed us warmly, yet the rest of the family found it challenging to accept my children and me. Essentially, our aspiration was to feel like an integral part of their family.
However, Gabriel might counter by asserting that he and his kin made substantial efforts to integrate them.
In the October 13th episode, he expressed his belief that Robyn seems to have a tendency to perceive herself as a victim. To put it more straightforwardly, and without placing blame, I believe that various individuals develop unique coping mechanisms to navigate their lives.
Yet, he added, “If Robyn truly thinks that we were mistreating her or her children while she was being favored by Dad and we were consistently nurturing our bond with her kids, if she genuinely believes this, then I can never have a relationship with Robyn again.
During a September 29 broadcast, Kody shared how the frequent moves between four homes affected his eighteen children, particularly when young Ariella, born in January 2016, held onto him tightly as he attempted to depart, demonstrating their emotional attachment.
Kody expressed, “‘I had another wife and children who required my attention, so I needed to explain that to her,’ he said. She clung to me, crying ‘Don’t abandon me, Daddy, don’t leave me.’ It was tough for me to handle.
Unfortunately, that’s just a reality of plural marriage, insisted Janelle.
She shared that right from the start, her children understood that their father wouldn’t be around constantly. It seemed to her that Kody and Robyn mishandled the situation regarding their children. He had to return home after three or four days because Ari would become very upset. To her, this felt like a lack of proper parenting. Throughout family history, the other children handled similar situations and they’ve grown up to be well-adjusted adults.
Among a small group of children from the Brown family, Mykelti was one of those who remained connected with Robyn, Kody, and also Christine and Janelle. During Kody’s divorces, Mykelti stepped into the role of mediator, maintaining peace among them.
Since Robyn joined the Brown family, Mykelti warmly welcomed her to such an extent that she asked her to be present during the birth of her twins, Archer and Ace, in November 2022.
In the September 29th broadcast, Mykelti expressed that when Robyn became part of our family, I was still trying to understand myself. However, she made me feel unique and understood. She was a supportive presence during difficult times, offering comfort and understanding when I needed someone to listen to me, to care for me.
Christine was overjoyed beyond words when she saw how well Robyn and Mykelti got along. She expressed this during the Oct. 6 episode, saying, “When Robyn joined our family and it was clear they had a strong bond, it was exactly what I had hoped for.” She continued, “When I dreamt about having a multi-parent family, I wished my children would have harmonious relationships with other mothers. This is just what I envisioned.
Kody believes it’s not just his wives who are choosing to exclude him from their lives; he thinks they’re deliberately doing so as a form of retribution for a crime he didn’t commit, as he expressed during the October 6 episodes. He attributes his estrangement from some of his older children to this situation, stating that he is merely guilty of not deeply falling in love with their mothers.
What’s more, he continued, he think his former spouses are a bit to blame.
He stated that the strained connection with his children is predominantly a product of negative comments he’s received. Essentially, he feels that the disintegration of the family has left him feeling let down, and in some way, he perceives himself being unfairly blamed for the situation.
However, although he accepts some responsibility, he strongly objects to the derogatory comments. Notably, he found it difficult to bond with Hunter, Maddie and Gabriel, as one of his children reportedly replied to a text, “You are waste. I wouldn’t talk to you again even if I tried.
In another event, he expressed to the cameras, “One of my children recently said, ‘You’re behaving badly. I won’t speak to you anymore. You’ve deceived me and influenced me in a negative way.’
He expressed that he won’t continue to address the issue without reciprocation, stating that it’s time for the adults involved to step up and take action. He’s prepared to contribute, but he expects others to do the same.
For Robyn, watching Kody’s estrangement from his adult children hit far too close to home.
During the Oct. 6 episode, she shared that her parents divorced when she was young. At that time, her father lived with another woman in a different city, while her mother lived on her own. I recall asking him why he wasn’t around during my childhood years and all he offered were weak explanations that didn’t make sense to me. It was really tough.
Despite his hurt feelings, she wasn’t going to let them hinder her from making an effort. She expressed some concern that he might lose her respect slightly during their intense disagreement, which occurred towards the end of 2022.
Even though Kody admitted that he could take steps to repair his relationship with his children, he emphasized that healing his own heart should come first.
He admitted that some of his children seem to be conspiring against him, and he explained, “I’m so enraged about what has transpired that when I communicate with my kids, I fear they might provoke me with an accusation. At the moment, I’m too emotionally charged. I’m afraid all I’ll do is cause more harm.
Despite being present at the wedding of Logan and Michelle Petty, his wife, in October 2022, I couldn’t help but feel a sense of detachment from the joyous occasion.
In the October 6th episode, Kody voiced his frustration to Robyn, saying he felt hurt because Madison had left with her children without informing him that she was expecting her third baby, Josephine, who was born in February 2023. Essentially, he mentioned that Madison hadn’t shared the news of her pregnancy with him.
Frankly, Maddie doesn’t tell her dad much of anything with the two rarely speaking.
I clarified the reason behind Maddie avoiding Kody at the wedding. She’s extremely vigilant about safeguarding her children. To be precise, Kody hasn’t been present since Evie was born nearly four years ago, and Maddie didn’t want him to suddenly appear and claim ‘Hi, I’m your grandpa,’ leaving them bewildered as if asking, ‘Who is this stranger?’
Kody expressed that it’s impractical for grandparents to be constantly involved in their grandchildren’s lives, given the situation where children are relocated to a completely different coast, as illustrated by Maddie’s life in North Carolina. He further explained that he has commitments and a lifestyle in Flagstaff that makes it challenging for him to be present all the time.
It appears that Kody and his grown-up kids hold contrasting perspectives regarding their current estrangement, with a notable disagreement being about him asking for an apology or acknowledgement of fault.
Following the COVID crisis’s resolution, we returned to our usual routines, but family reconciliation remained elusive. Kody expressed that his sons should apologize, particularly to Robyn, as their issues had evolved into something more complex. Eventually, he said they needed to have a conversation with him directly. This is what Janelle revealed in the Oct. 13 episode.
In Janelle’s words, Kody was upset because he believed his children hadn’t remained faithful to him, adding that the most cherished member of their family had been disregarded or treated unfairly. She expressed exasperation by saying, “I’m like, ‘Whatever, Kody. Yeah, whatever.'” in response.
Gabriel expressed a comparable viewpoint as he narrated his discussion with his father. “He seemed to keep insisting that I should offer an apology,” he told Janelle. “Finally, I said something like, ‘Hey, unless you’re genuinely willing to rebuild our relationship and address the issues, we won’t talk anymore.’ A few days later, he texted me back. He wrote, ‘Hey, I’ve been thinking about what you’ve been saying. I forgive you, please forgive me.’ I responded, ‘Forgive me for what?’
Out of his six children with Janelle, Kody only maintains a relationship with his youngest, Savanah. He doesn’t see them often, but every couple of months he calls and they spend time together. The other children haven’t developed much of a bond with him.
Regarding Savannah, who completed high school in the year 2023, it’s her belief that her four elder brothers have assumed a paternal role in her life. In fact, she has disclosed to Janelle her intention of asking her siblings to escort her during her future wedding ceremony one day.
Janelle shared, ‘I’ve had a conversation with Savanah about it, and she said something like, ‘You know, I’ve come to understand that this is his nature.’ She explained, ‘He’ll be more of a dad who joins us for fun times but isn’t around much. I can accept him as he is. It’s fine.’
Janelle, however, is less forgiving.
She expressed her frustration about Kody, saying, ‘I’ve noticed a pattern that leaves me disappointed.’ She added, ‘In my experience, there are many women I’ve collaborated with whose ex-husbands vanish after divorce, taking the children along.’
At the initial stages of their estrangement, “Gabriel found it particularly tough since Kody often invited Gabriel along during his business travels,” as Janelle put it, explaining that Kody had been a deeply involved father until quite recently.

In late 2022, Meri, who was once Kody’s wife, requested and received what their church refers to as a “release,” citing abandonment as the reason for her split from him, making her the last to depart.
She pointed out during the October 13 broadcast that he dislikes that particular word since he believes he didn’t leave her. Instead, she feels he did.
To put it simply, she believes he paid little attention to her until she decided to depart, at which point he could claim, “I had no part in it.
And Kody didn’t totally deny that he had a bit of a strategy.
He admitted that he had already moved past the situation a while ago. However, he acknowledged his apprehension about confronting her directly due to fear of her reactions. This fear stemmed from Meri’s history of disloyalty, which was the root of his concerns. Essentially, he worried about the potential damage to his reputation after a divorce.
Instead, alleged Meri, it was hers that was being tarnished.
She expressed her disappointment by saying, “It’s truly unfortunate how Kody is discussing our marriage as if it were something else. It seems his perspective on our relationship has shifted, yet the allegations he’s making about me to others don’t align with reality.
Prior to when Christina separated from Kody, she came to understand that, according to a suggested activity by their marriage therapist in Las Vegas, they were not ideally suited for each other on paper.
In my fervent pursuit of finding a life partner, I penned down a list of essential traits I desired in a man – a good conversationalist, someone who would be an active and loving presence in my life and that of our children, and someone who found me irresistible. Alas, Kody failed to meet any of these criteria, as he admitted on the October 20th episode. “He wasn’t the man I was searching for,” I confessed. “I shared my list with him, and his response was, ‘I’m not any of those things for you.’ I retorted, ‘No, you’re not.’
The letter played a significant role in her swift realization that David Woolley was indeed her match.
She praised the widower, father of eight, saying that family means everything to him. His drywall business is his own, and he’s known for his sincerity and genuine interactions. She also mentioned that he’s an excellent communicator.
