Sister Wives’ Meri Brown Slams Kody for Marrying Women He Didn't Love

As a seasoned observer of human dynamics, I find myself deeply saddened by the state of affairs within the polygamous family portrayed on this show. Each individual seems to be grappling with their own unique struggles and pain, yet it’s clear that communication breakdowns and unresolved emotions have led them down a path of alienation and misunderstanding.

Meri Brown is done with her ex Kody Brown.

Following the Sister Wives star’s formal dissolution of her spiritual marriage to her former polygamist partner in 2022, she unequivocally conveyed during the October 20 episode of their TLC series that she no longer tolerates his behavior.

Perhaps, if you didn’t desire failure,” I mused in a private reflection, “you might have chosen wisely, not once, not twice, but thrice, when it came to your marital unions.

Previously, Kody had been married to four distinct women, with Meri being the first. Their union ended in 2022, not much time after he and Janelle Brown, who he entered a spiritual marriage with in 1993, parted ways, and a year following Christine Brown’s departure from their spiritual bond after 25 years. Now, Kody is only in a relationship with his wife Robyn Brown.

Regardless of the prolonged period apart, Kody clarified in the episode that he never planned to officially end his marriage with Meri unless she chose to do so first.

He admitted during a private conversation that he found it difficult to leave Meri, despite the poor state of their relationship. I recall when Sonny (Bono) and Cher divorced when I was six years old, and it affected me deeply. It’s confusing as to why I’m still clinging to it slightly, because I fully understand that I don’t wish to be in this relationship anymore.

Shockingly, Kody even admitted, “I know Christine did me a favor by being brave enough to leave.”

In essence, there’s a discrepancy between Kody and Meri regarding their past relationship timeline and their understanding of their time spent as a struggling couple.

Kody expressed that their marriage had been troubled from the start, as far back as 1990 when they got married. He regretted staying in the relationship for as long as he did, admitting that he should have ended it 25 years ago during a private reflection.

And while he said he was fine with “faking” a relationship with his first wife, Meri was not, telling her ex, “I would rather you have told me, Kody, years ago.”

Furthermore, Kody admitted that he was not inclined towards mending his relationship with Meri, who is Leon Brown’s mother, but appeared to be more focused on intensifying the rift with his former partner instead.

You know, it’s quite unfortunate,” said the father of eighteen, “it’s not the fact of getting a divorce that is unfortunate, but rather the reality of marrying someone who isn’t the right fit because one doesn’t fully understand.

“Meri appeared shocked by her former partner’s remark, later expressing in a private reflection, ‘It’s painful to marry the incorrect person and only confess after 32 long years.’

Sister Wives airs Sundays at 10 p.m. ET on TLC.

Kody Brown expressed his readiness to separate from his first wife, Meri Brown, not long after their wedding in 1990. However, as he put it, “Meri, when we move to Flagstaff, this will be a good time for us to start anew,” suggesting optimism about their future together. Yet, according to Meri’s account during the Sept. 15 premiere, Kody had often led her to believe things would improve, only to disappoint her over and over again throughout the years.

She expressed her primary concern as being his poor communication, specifically regarding his true feelings, desires, and dislikes, as well as inconsistencies in the stories he has been sharing throughout the years.

Initially, Kody conceded the possibility of sending “conflicting signals”, but as he delved into the tasks at hand, he expressed confusion: “I found myself questioning, ‘What’s the point in doing this?'” He clarified his current stance: “At this moment, I wouldn’t pursue a romantic relationship with her.

Either way, Meri’s friends were thrilled when she finally pulled the plug in early 2023.

She admitted, “They essentially said, ‘We’re here, we’ve got your back, and this is long overdue.’ Now, with my blinders removed, I believe he’s been trying to encourage me to leave for years by claiming he doesn’t love me. If I walk away, then he isn’t the villain because he didn’t depart first.

After several years since our family acquired the 14-acre land in Flagstaff, Ariz., intended for construction, I admitted during the season premiere that my initial dream was waning. With the full payment of the $820,000 still pending (reportedly settled in 2023), I shared with Robyn Brown, “I’d almost prefer to abandon it or sell it and then begin anew somewhere else.

As for Robyn, “I can’t talk about that,” she responded. “That is so not where I’m at.”

Previously, Janelle Brown shared with TopMob News that the relationship between them had been gradually fading, but it was ultimately Kody’s shortcomings as a parent towards some of their children that drove her to part ways.

In simpler terms, the mom told Logan Brown, Madison Brown Brush, Hunter Brown, Garrison Brown, Gabriel Brown, and Savanah Brown that the turning point for her was when his relationship with her children deteriorated to a point where it seemed like he wasn’t making significant efforts to mend it. This realization made her understand that it was this situation that had been keeping her in place all along.

Kody provided his reason for not exerting more effort to repair the strained relationships he had with some of his grown-up kids, which were becoming increasingly distant.

In the recent episode on the 15th of September, I found myself feeling out of place within my family structure. Despite remaining legally married to Robyn and jointly raising our five beautiful children – Dayton, Aurora, Breanna, Solomon, and Ariella – my connection with some of the other children is sporadic at best. This leaves me questioning how I should navigate this complex situation. It just doesn’t feel like a traditional family anymore.

Even though they’ve been sincerely monogamous for 14 years in their marriage, Robyn admitted during the season 19 premiere that things are at their worst. She explained, “It’s been a struggle between us. He doesn’t know who to hold accountable, himself or one of the other wives. Kody is experiencing a lot of rejection and I believe he’s wondering if I might reject him too.

Consequently, she admitted, “I’m constantly vigilant, ensuring he doesn’t undermine our relationship.” In her words, the most challenging aspect was: “There’s no guidance available for being married to a man who is undergoing multiple divorces.

Meanwhile, Kody struggled with self-doubt, expressing, “I find it hard to tell my reflection, ‘Hey there, pal. I truly adore you.’

It was revealed during the premiere that Madison, Janelle’s eldest child, is not in a relationship with Kody at this time. As Janelle explained, “Maddie hasn’t had any contact with her father.” Neither of them has reached out to each other, and as a result, Maddie doesn’t have any connection with Kody or his wife Robin. Essentially, she’s chosen to disconnect from both of them.

As I follow closely, the matter at hand revolves around Kody not fully engaging with Maddie’s children, Axel, Evangalynn, and Josephine, in our relationship. Essentially, Janelle expressed that Kody should only have contact if he is prepared to make a firm commitment.

In the Sept. 22 broadcast, it was revealed that Kody had essentially stopped communicating with Maddie and her husband Caleb Brush when the family began to disintegrate.

Without Kody being present or reaching out, Maddie has taken on a very protective role, as Janelle put it. She feels that until he becomes more reliable and less theatrical, it might be best for everyone if she keeps their relationship private.

Additionally, Robyn mentioned that she’s been motivating Kody to repair their relationship. However, she also suggested, “It seems only fair if the children attempt the same reconciliation efforts as well.

Currently, Kody appears unwilling to mend the estrangement, expressing frustration that whenever he talks to his daughter, it feels like he’s just providing fodder for gossip and he’s grown weary of it.

During their 32nd anniversary celebration, “He hinted that he never truly loved me and felt obligated to marry me,” Meri confided in her friend Brandi during the September 15 premiere. “To which I responded, ‘Kody, I know you did love me,'” she added.

And if he didn’t, the mom to Leon Brown said in a confessional, why did he ever choose to propose?

When a bachelor encounters a spinster, one might question why he would decide to marry her if he didn’t feel affection towards her initially. It seems unfair, doesn’t it? To select someone from a group and then declare, ‘I choose you, hoping I can eventually grow to love you for the next three decades?’

Kody expressed in a private moment that Meri is making some claims against him, but he doesn’t mind what she says. He won’t respond to them directly.

Despite being uncertain whether to develop Coyote Pass or sell it, Janelle realized the first step was clearing the debt on the Arizona property. As Kody refused to discuss the matter with her, she admitted to ex-sister wife Christine Brown in the Sept. 22 episode that she felt she needed legal representation. “I think I’m going to need a lawyer,” she said, “because I don’t believe I’ll get any resolution from him otherwise.

In simpler terms, Janelle admitted that since she doesn’t have a legally binding marriage with Kody, she has no authority to assert any claims on his property. She explained, “It’s not as easy as calling a lawyer and asking for a divorce; instead, it’s intricate because there isn’t a legal marriage between us.

Kody chose not to discuss the Arizona property with Janelle because he lost trust in her.

He firmly stated during the September 22nd episode, “When the appropriate time arises, we will settle the property,” adding, “I prefer not to share any specifics about my actions or plans because I’m fed up with the rumors that circulate among our fractured family’s gossip circuit.

A bit of a pot calling the kettle black, Janelle said in her own interview.

She explained, “He seems to share everything, just as water seeps through a sieve.” She added, “He confided in me details about his previous relationships and multiple wives, which made me feel uneasy, like he shouldn’t be disclosing such information to me.

In the days when the family’s affection was growing instead of dwindling, they would combine their savings into a common fund.

Janelle pointed out during the September 22 episode that we would do everything possible to assist one individual, followed by uniting as a group to aid the other. This was our approach until around ten years ago. However, recently it seems to have shifted from focusing on helping each other to building and protecting personal estates instead.

When Robyn required a house in Arizona, everyone contributed towards purchasing a luxurious five-bedroom property worth approximately $1.65 million – this property had been on sale since August.

According to Robyn, the plan was for the property to benefit the whole family. However, when Janelle proposed that they all share the mortgage, she faced opposition. Kody said something along the lines of, “No, no, we must safeguard Robyn’s assets,” as Janelle remembered. Now that Janelle is leaving the family, she expressed her wish to receive her share from the Coyote Pass sale and also get back some of the money she invested in Robyn’s house.

But that could be a tough sell.

Robyn remarked, “After all this time collaborating, it seems quite perplexing to me when Janelle mentions she’s due some compensation. I can’t seem to wrap my head around the calculations or how it’s determined.

Sister Wives’ Meri Brown Slams Kody for Marrying Women He Didn't Love

Janelle expressed frustration over the family’s struggles with Coyote Pass payments. She pointed out that while Kody frequently mentioned having numerous other debts, she had observed him acquiring items such as trailers and home decorations. “I notice all the artwork on Robyn and Kody’s walls,” she stated. “I see all these possessions. And honestly, I understand because I too have spent money on things.” (In response, Kody explained that a large portion of his funds were used for purchasing vehicles—”Basically, I had a collection”—and children’s insurance.)

Janelle admitted that she wasn’t certain about Kody and Robyn’s financial management, but she often found herself astonished by the beauty of Robyn’s backyard. It was fully landscaped, and there were always various items in her home. Her reaction was usually something along the lines of, “Wow. Really?

Essentially, she conveyed that he never seemed to make her needs or desires a priority, which ultimately led to her feelings of frustration. Over time, this became increasingly apparent, even to her grown children who expressed their exasperation with statements like, “What on earth, Mom?

Robyn adopted a cautious approach towards her finances following the dissolution of her initial marriage.

She confided during the September 22 episode that she wasn’t so skilled with managing finances in the past. Growing up, she encountered tough times, and it was during her divorce that she learned to budget exceptionally well. In regards to her fellow sister wives, she stated, “Perhaps your priorities for spending money were different from mine.

In the latest episode on September 22nd, I, as a lifestyle enthusiast, found myself in the company of Christine – mother to Aspyn Brown, Mykelti Brown Padron, Paedon Brown, Gwendlyn Brown, Ysabel Brown, and Truely Brown. However, it’s been quite some time since we’ve had any meaningful interaction with Meri or Robyn, or Kody for that matter. At this point, I don’t see any significant change in our relationship dynamics.

Sister Wives’ Meri Brown Slams Kody for Marrying Women He Didn't Love

Speaking about their stay on a cul-de-sac in Las Vegas, Kody reminisced fondly, “Those days were simply the highlight of my life. Everything was running effortlessly and it was a joy to have Maddie and Caleb around. Caleb was more like family to me, and I cherished him deeply.

However, tensions rose in Arizona due to disagreements concerning coronavirus safety measures. Subsequently, as his marital unions dissolved, he lamented that the connections with his children deteriorated too: “This just led to a spoiling of all our relationships.

But Christine insisted their were issues well before she announced she was leaving in late 2021.

On the September 22nd episode, she stated that the children who seemed upset had been feeling that way long before she left. She added that her departure did not alter the dynamics of their relationships with their father; Kody still has the ability to mend those bonds with his children.

Though it’ll definitely take some work.

Kody expressed his feelings, saying, “I’m still upset about how I’ve been accused, and I haven’t been able to move past it yet.” He continued, “I refuse to accept responsibility for things my wife or ex-wife claims I did. I can only hope that the resentment will eventually fade away so we can find forgiveness and rekindle our love.

At their wedding, which occurred when Kody was 21 and Meri was 19, both had admitted they weren’t extremely familiar with each other, spiritually and legally. (Over time, they ended up filing for divorce in 2014 so that Kody could legally adopt Robyn’s three oldest children from her previous marriage.)

In our wedding, she seemed quite distinct, and I suspect there were some past issues (or baggage) that Meri had which I wasn’t aware of. At first, I thought I could manage it. However, he stated that everything turned into an argument, and he found it impossible to coexist in a world where she was consistently upset with him.

Despite his desire to depart, Kody explained that due to being in a plural marriage, he wasn’t granted the option for divorce. Consequently, he was stuck within the confines of that relationship. However, it’s worth noting that he didn’t yearn to escape the relationship entirely; rather, he sought to understand if there was a possibility to salvage and repair it.

Therefore, due to the conflicting signals, he admitted that Meri believed they could resolve their issues. However, whenever they were in each other’s company, Kody explained, “She wasn’t pleasant, she wasn’t amusing, she wasn’t considerate, she wasn’t engaging. I’m trying to be interested in her, but I find myself growing tired.

He acknowledged that it might seem as though Meri was left behind, yet he clarified, “However, I wasn’t the one who asked them to leave our house. It was Christine, Janelle, and Meri themselves who decided for me to depart.

Even though Janelle and Christine didn’t consider it necessary to legally divorce Kody due to their unofficial union, Meri petitioned their church for an official separation, which is known as a “release,” towards the end of 2022.

In the episode on September 22nd, she clarified that all four of us women married Kody through our church. Since it’s impossible for all of us to have legal marriages, we referred to it as a covenant. However, since none of us are pursuing further marriage with him, I believe it’s best to end this covenant. I don’t want to be bound to him eternally if he doesn’t wish for that, and at this point, I feel we should completely separate our spiritual bond.

Kody hesitated about the notion, she mentioned, preferring not to recognize or submit to the leadership of the church officials.

Kody clarified his position: “The harm inflicted is so severe that we won’t be reconciling, no matter the circumstances. As for our accountability towards God, I don’t want to answer to this church with all its complications. Therefore, I’ll allow Meri her freedom to act as she wishes because if I’m angry at her, it escalates into a disagreement. Frankly, I just want her to move on because it’s taken her years to acknowledge that our issues are settled.

Over the 2021 holiday gift exchange, a heated conversation ensued among the 18 Brown family members, which unfortunately took a turn for the worse. As Christine explained, “Things didn’t go as planned; things went terribly wrong.” Kody, Robyn, and their children seemed to form one group, while Janelle, Christine, and their kids were left out of the equation. This text exchange led to a division within the family, with tensions running high after this particular conversation.

Robyn explained that her three eldest children perceived the interaction as uncomfortable and felt it necessary to distance themselves from the relationship temporarily. However, she clarified that it wasn’t a matter of them wanting to cut off all contact or disassociate completely, but rather expressing that the situation had become unpleasant for them, similar to saying, “This has turned sour.

For his part, Gabriel is hoping that they could find their way back to each other.

“The thing I want most is to just have a relationship with Robyn’s children again,” he confessed in the Oct. 13 episode. “In middle school, Aurora was my favorite person to hang out with. And in high school, I would always try to hit Dayton up. But I’m, I’m not hopeful for a relationship with Dad And Robyn.”

Sister Wives’ Meri Brown Slams Kody for Marrying Women He Didn't Love

Aurora firmly stated that she was told, on numerous occasions by various individuals, that she was not welcomed as part of the family when her mother married Kody in 2010. She emphasized that they did not view her as their sister and did not consider her to be a part of their family in any way.

Her sister Breanna expressed that she believed the parents might have made more effort to strengthen our familial bond, but unfortunately, that connection never fully materialized.

But Christine isn’t sure how they could have opened their arms any wider.

Robyn’s children and Robyn were always welcome to join any event,” she emphasized. “In essence, they could feel free to drop by our house whenever they pleased.

Additionally, she mentioned, her daughter Ysabel Brown shared a strong bond with Robyn’s children, and for a while, Mykelti Brown Padron resided with them: “We faced challenging times, and my children felt exasperated at times, but they consistently viewed Robyn’s kids as their siblings just as closely.

Speaking enthusiastically about the freedom it provides, Janelle expressed her view on polygamy as, “When it works well, it creates an extraordinary family structure that you’re connected to, a community where you belong. You have a spouse and enjoy a wonderful relationship with them. You have all the independence too. In my perspective, polygamy was truly an excellent setup.

According to Janelle’s account, Kody found it more challenging to divide his affection when the family moved from Las Vegas to Arizona in 2018.

During the September 29th episode, it was mentioned that when Kody relocated to Flagstaff, he found it simpler to stay away. Occasionally, I had to remind him that he should visit me instead. He often tried to avoid by stating he was fatigued, but I’d respond, “You can rest just as well at my house as you can at Robyn’s.” In other words, he could rest equally at both places.

Sister Wives’ Meri Brown Slams Kody for Marrying Women He Didn't Love

In simpler terms, Janelle stated that her kids were reprimanded if they dared to open Robyn’s refrigerator. This suggests a sense of distance between them and Robyn, as Christine’s children felt it was unusual that Robyn, who was their dad’s partner, had a separate space (fridge) in the house that wasn’t theirs.

And Robyn said her crew definitely felt the divide.

On the September 29th episode, she mentioned that Meri was warm and welcoming towards my children and me, while the rest of the family found it difficult to accept us. They just wished to be included in this family.

However, Gabriel might counter that they had gone out of their way to integrate their new family members.

In the October 13th episode, he expressed his belief that Robyn seems to have a pattern of feeling like a victim. To be more straightforward, he was suggesting this. However, I don’t wish to place blame on her. Instead, I think it’s important to understand that everyone has their own methods for coping and staying resilient in difficult situations.

Yet, he added, “If she truly thinks that we were somehow unfair or hurtful to her or her children despite the fact that she was frequently favored by Dad and we were consistently trying to build a bond with her kids, if she genuinely believes that, then there’s no possibility of me maintaining a relationship with Robyn in the future.

During a September 29 episode, Kody revealed that his children, numbering eighteen, were impacted by their father moving between four different homes. He recounted an instance where Ariella, born in January 2016 and the youngest of him and Robyn, held tightly to his leg as he was attempting to depart, signifying the emotional turmoil this living arrangement has caused for them.

In my own words, I shared with her, “I have another spouse and mother who require my attention, other children needing to be with me.” She was clinging onto me, crying, “Don’t abandon me, Daddy, don’t leave me.” It’s a tough predicament indeed.

Unfortunately, that’s just a reality of plural marriage, insisted Janelle.

She made it clear from the start that her children understood their father wouldn’t be a constant presence. It seemed to her that Kody and Robyn mishandled the situation regarding her children. He had to return home after three or four days because Ari would become very upset. To her, this was a lack of good parenting. Throughout family history, the other kids had handled similar situations, and they turned out to be well-adjusted adults.

Sister Wives’ Meri Brown Slams Kody for Marrying Women He Didn't Love

Among a small group of kids with the last name Brown, Mykelti maintained relationships with not only Robyn and Kody but also Christine and Janelle. During Kody’s divorces, Mykelti often served as a mediator or peacekeeper.

From the very first encounter, I felt an instant connection with Robyn that grew stronger over time. In fact, she was honored with the special invitation to witness the arrival of Mykelti’s twin boys, Archer and Ace, in November 2022. It was a profound experience to share in such a momentous occasion with someone so dear to me.

During the September 29th episode, Mykelti expressed that when Robyn initially became part of our family, I was still trying to discover myself. She made me feel unique and understood. Robyn was a supportive presence during difficult times. When I needed someone to listen, to care for me, she was there.

Christine was overjoyed beyond words when she saw Robyn joining their family and noticed the strong bond between her and Mykelti. Sharing her feelings on the Oct. 6 episode, she said, “I had always dreamed of having a large family, and I hoped my children would build strong relationships with other mothers. Seeing this happen has made all my dreams come true.

Sister Wives’ Meri Brown Slams Kody for Marrying Women He Didn't Love

Kody believes it’s not just his wives who are choosing to exclude him from their lives; he thinks they’re deliberately doing so as a form of punishment for a crime he didn’t commit, as he expressed during the October 6th episode. He feels that his only “crime” is not having fallen deeply in love with their mothers.

What’s more, he continued, he think his former spouses are a bit to blame.

He explained that the strain in his relationships with his kids is predominantly due to negative comments, saying, “The aftermath of our family splitting up has left a tornado of disillusionment, and it seems as though I’m the one being blamed for any mistakes.

However, although he accepts some responsibility, he strongly objects to the insults. In fact, he admitted that he was finding it difficult to bond with Hunter, Maddie, and Gabriel. Kody disclosed that one of his children had replied to a text message saying, “You are worthless. I wouldn’t talk to you again even if I tried.

In another occurrence, he expressed to the cameras, “One of my children recently stated, ‘You are quite insensitive. I will no longer speak to you. You’ve deceived me and indoctrinated me.’

He won’t continue to handle the venomous situation, he stated. He added that he believes it’s his elders who should step up and address the issues. He’s ready to put in the work, but he expects someone else to reciprocate as well.

Sister Wives’ Meri Brown Slams Kody for Marrying Women He Didn't Love

For Robyn, watching Kody’s estrangement from his adult children hit far too close to home.

During the October 6th episode, she shared that her parents divorced when she was young. At that time, her father lived with another woman in a different city, while her mother lived alone. She recalled asking him why he wasn’t around more during her childhood, to which he offered unconvincing explanations. These excuses didn’t make sense to her and it was very disappointing.

She was determined not to let Kody’s hurt feelings hinder his efforts. During their heated argument, captured on camera towards the end of 2022, she expressed something along the lines of finding it hard not to have a slight loss of respect for him.

Even though Kody admitted there was room for improvement in repairing his relationships with his children, he emphasized that healing his own heart was a priority first.

He admitted that some of his children seem to be conspiring against him, and he explained, “I am so enraged by what has transpired that when I speak with my kids, I fear they might provoke me with an accusation. At the moment, I’m too emotionally charged. All I can do is cause more harm.

Sister Wives’ Meri Brown Slams Kody for Marrying Women He Didn't Love

As an overjoyed admirer, I couldn’t contain my excitement when I heard about Janelle and Kody’s eldest son, Logan, tying the knot with Michelle Petty in October 2022. However, despite most of the family being present, the air was not filled with the usual warmth and love that we’ve come to associate with such occasions.

In the October 6th episode, Kody expressed frustration to Robyn, saying he had observed Madison hastily removing her children from his presence. He pointed out that his daughter hadn’t informed him about her third pregnancy, which resulted in the birth of daughter Josephine in February 2023. Essentially, what he was saying was “She didn’t tell me she was expecting a child.

Frankly, Maddie doesn’t tell her dad much of anything with the two rarely speaking.

Janelle clarified that Maddie avoids Kody because he has no connection with him,” she said, explaining her daughter’s behavior at the wedding. “Maddie takes great care in shielding her children from harm. Kody hasn’t been around since Evie was born, about three and a half years ago, and Maddie didn’t want him to suddenly show up unannounced, claiming to be their grandfather, leaving them confused and wondering who he is.

Kody feels it’s impractical for grandparents to be present in their grandchildren’s lives constantly, given the distance involved when moving kids across countries, as Maddie is based in North Carolina while he resides in Flagstaff. He emphasizes his professional and personal commitments in Flagstaff.

It’s evident that Kody and his grown-up kids hold contrasting perspectives regarding their current strained relationship. However, a point of contention seems to be Kody asking for an apology or acknowledgment of wrongdoing from his side.

In the October 13th episode, Janelle mentioned that following the end of the COVID-related concerns and our return to regular life, there remained unresolved family issues because Kody felt his sons should apologize to him and especially to Robyn. Later on, she explained that this situation evolved into something more complex, and ultimately, they just needed to have a conversation with her.

Janelle expressed that Kody’s problem was that he felt his children hadn’t been faithful to him, and moreover, the most cherished individual in their family, who has given so much love and care, had been treated disrespectfully or unfairly. She concluded by saying, “And I’m like, ‘Well, Kody, whatever you say. Yes, whatever.’

Gabriel expressed a comparable viewpoint when recounting his interaction with his father. “He seemed to repeatedly suggest that I needed to apologize,” he explained to Janelle. “Finally, I said something like, ‘Unless you’re genuinely prepared to rebuild our relationship and make amends, we won’t talk anymore.’ A few days later, he texted me back. He wrote, ‘Hey, I’ve been thinking about what you’ve been saying. I forgive you. Please forgive me.’ My response was, ‘Forgive me for what?’

Among the six children Kody has with Janelle, he primarily interacts with his youngest, Savanah. However, their interactions are not frequent; it happens approximately every two months when he calls and they spend time together. The other children don’t seem to have a significant or consistent connection with him.

Regarding Savannah, who completed high school in 2023, it can be observed that her four elder brothers have assumed a more paternal role in her life. In fact, Savannah has admitted to Janelle that she might ask her siblings to accompany her down the aisle at some point in the future.

In her conversation, Janelle shared that she had spoken with Savanah about the situation, and Savanah expressed, “Well, it seems that he’s simply the kind of father who will occasionally join us for fun times but won’t always be around. I understand him as he is, and I’m okay with it.

Janelle, however, is less forgiving.

She expressed her frustration with Kody, saying, ‘I can’t help but feel this way.’ She shared that she’s witnessed similar situations in the past. Many women she knows from work have divorced, only to find the children’s father disappearing afterward.

Sister Wives’ Meri Brown Slams Kody for Marrying Women He Didn't Love

Initially, the strain between father and son left Gabriel feeling particularly affected, as Kody frequently included Gabriel in his business travels. As Janelle put it, Kody had been a highly involved father until relatively recently.

Although Gabriel is puzzled about what he might have done to upset his father, during the Oct. 13 episode, he stated, “I told Dad that if he doesn’t change and can’t accept responsibility, then I won’t be seeing him again. And I’m completely fine with that decision.

In her own words, she expressed that he’s content with his father being absent from his life. What I wish for all my children is the same peace. I believe they are all gradually understanding this idea.

For his part, Kody also seems resigned to the situation.

He expressed his apologies for how Gabriel seems, sharing that he has made several attempts to reach out to him but has been turned down. However, he wanted to make it clear that this was not due to a lack of effort on his part.
