Sister Wives’ Robyn Brown Recalls Threat of Jail Over Plural Family

As I delve into the lives of these remarkable individuals, I am truly awestruck by their journeys and the love they share. Each one has embarked on their own unique path, filled with challenges, triumphs, and moments that bind them together as a family.

Robyn Brown is backing up her beliefs.

In a sneak peek of the December 29th episode of Sister Wives, shared with TopMob News, Robyn Brown (the last wife of Kody Brown) discussed the dangers targeting their multi-wife family structure, accompanied by her daughters Aurora Jessop, aged 22, and Breanna Jessop, who is 19 years old.

During their meeting with the pastors at The Commons Church in Arizona, Robyn shared the reasons behind the family’s temporary absence from church services during their time in Utah.

Robyn pointed out that there wasn’t a local church for us to attend,” she said in the video. “Our family structure as plural was causing threats of legal action from the state of Utah due to our unique beliefs.

It turns out that part of the reason for the family’s move from Utah to Flagstaff, Arizona, was because they encountered problems there.

She noted that the reason they relocated was primarily to maintain their familial bond while avoiding the risk of being separated or facing legal consequences.

Later, in a private conversation, Robyn shared more about her feelings towards blending Christianity with a polygamous relationship, having been married to Kody at one point alongside Christine Brown, Janelle Brown, and Meri Brown – all of whom have since departed from him.

She shared, “When I disclose my religious upbringing to others, they often seem to question or judge me. Women tend to react defensively or angrily, while men usually respond with curiosity. However, even men express hesitation and say something like, ‘I couldn’t imagine having more than one.’

Apart from encountering criticism about her lifestyle from those outside her group, Robyn, who has children Dayton (age 24), Solomon (13), and Ariella (8) with Kody, also finds herself questioning the support of her daughters. In fact, her daughters have expressed doubts about whether they would choose to emulate their mother’s lifestyle.

During the Sister Wives episode on December 8th, Breanna shared her feelings honestly, saying, ‘I’m torn between different thoughts at the moment, but for now, I’m leaning towards no. I’m unsure if I’m ready to embrace that lifestyle.’

Aurora also affirmed to her mom, “I don’t have the same call to it that you and Dad do and did.”

Even though Robyn remains steadfast with Kody, it’s worth noting that his previous wives have found new relationships. Let’s delve deeper into the love lives of the “Sister Wives” cast members.

In January 2024, one year after announcing their separation, Meri shared on Instagram that she’d been seeing Amos Andrews since October of the previous year. However, in February 2024, Meri announced on Instagram that their relationship was over as well.

Back in 2009, when I first met Robyn as a single mom with a van, three kids, and a recent divorce, I joked that she wasn’t the kind of trouble I needed in my life. Fast forward to today, and we’re still going strong, expanding our family with son Solomon and daughter Ariella. As for adding more team members, it’s not part of our strategy. It’s challenging for me because it feels like giving up on previous relationships and moving on to someone new, which I find difficult and disrespectful, as Robyn shared in the Sister Wives: One on One special regarding Meri, Janelle, and Christine leaving the fold. That’s a tough pill for me to swallow.

In an official confirmation of her relationship with David Woolley on Valentine’s Day 2023, Christine Brown expressed, “I’ve finally found the love of my life in David. The first time he held me close, it felt like my soul was rejuvenated. He’s wonderful, kind, and has a special bond with my children, making him an amazing grandpa. I never thought I could experience such profound love.

In the beginning, among the eighteen Brown siblings, it was Madison Brown, Janelle’s eldest child, who took the first step into marriage at a 2016 outdoor wedding in Montana, which was filmed by TLC. Now, at the age of 28, Madison wed Caleb Brush. Over six years later, their love has expanded to include Josephine, born in February, adding to their family alongside big brother Axel who is 6 and big sister Evie who is 4. Writing on Instagram in March, North Carolina-based Maddie expressed her heart was full as a family of five, stating she hadn’t known such tranquility could coexist amidst chaos.

After four years since Meri Brown’s engagement was featured on TLC’s reality show, Leon Brown, her only child, has established a life in Denver with partner Audrey Kriss. Leon, who is 28, expressed his affection for Audrey as his “sweetest symphony,” stating that being with her makes life incredibly sweet. Similarly, Audrey shared her sentiments, mentioning that it’s been an honor and a source of joy to be Leon’s partner and witness his personal growth and self-discovery throughout the years.

The oldest child, Logan Brown, aged 29, reunited his group when he tied the knot with his long-term sweetheart, Michelle Petty, in Arizona last October. On Instagram, Janelle expressed her feelings about her son’s wedding, saying it was a beautiful day and her heart melted throughout the event. “There’s always a feeling of tranquility when your children find exceptional life partners,” she added.

Six years after her 2016 wedding with Antonio “Tony” Padron, Mykelti Brown playfully mentioned that they had put their marriage vows to the test by adding twins Archer and Ace to their family in November 2022. At 27 years old and mother to Avalon who is 2, she commented, “We’ve managed three children and four moves so far. We’ve had our share of good times and difficult moments, but here we are, still navigating this marital journey.

For the past five years since their wedding, Aspyn Brown (age 28) and her husband Mitch Thompson have ventured to various places ranging from Paris to Alaska. However, they decided to settle down last December as Mitch announced on Instagram, “We’ve purchased our first home! Perfect timing for Christmas.

Before completing their first year as a couple, Christine’s daughter Gwendlyn Brown and her partner Beatriz Queiroz decided to visit the most joyful location known as the happiest place on earth. They celebrated six months together by indulging in chocolate fondue. The heartwarming moment followed. In November 2022, Gwendlyn gave a peek at the romantic, rose-scattered proposal she received from Beatriz, which was set under candlelight. She excitedly announced their engagement on Instagram with a simple post that read, “i’m engaged!!”. The couple officially tied the knot in July 2023, announcing the news on Instagram with the sweet caption: “Meet Mrs. Queiroz (x2)”.
