As I delve deeper into the lives of the Brown family, I can’t help but admire the resilience and courage that each member exhibits. Janelle’s decision to distance herself from her father if he doesn’t change is a testament to her strength and self-preservation. It’s heartbreaking yet empowering to see her hope for peace and growth for her children, just as she seems to be finding it for herself.
It may be Kody Brown’s big day, but his sole wife Robyn Brown may be the one with a few wishes.
For the upcoming November 2nd episode of Sister Wives, the family patriarch is having a subdued 55th birthday celebration instead of a joyous one.
In her private reflection, Robyn acknowledges that Kody has been deeply troubled, distressed, and disoriented for the past few years. Essentially, she is admitting the reality of his situation: he’s going through a tough time filled with pain and fear that I may abandon him.
Since 2021, starting with Christine Brown, each of Kody’s first three spouses decided to leave their spiritual union. Janelle followed in 2022, and Meri officially ended her church marriage shortly after. The stress from these three divorces has affected Kody’s marriage to Robyn and his relationships with his 18 children.
Looking back on a memorable life journey, he mused about his past milestone event. “Five years ago on my birthday,” he said, “I found myself contemplating, ‘Alright, I’ve reached the halfway point, what are my aspirations for the remaining part of my life? What kind of person do I want to become for the rest of my life?’
Kody mentions that during the divorce proceedings, he’s had difficulty sticking to his principles, which in turn has made him feel uncertain about the path he should take in life.
Among the most challenging things for Kody to relinquish was his vision of a large extended family, expressing his feelings as, “I’ve been wrestling with myself because my grand plan disintegrated.
Moreover, he characterizes his life with Robyn as a “comfortable, caring, and pleasant environment,” but he also confesses, “Yet, I carry an immense sense of guilt because I’m not more actively engaged with others who are out there.
Sister Wives airs Sunday, Nov. 2 at 10 p.m. ET on TLC.
For more of this season’s bombshells, read on.
Kody Brown expressed his intention to separate from his first wife, Meri Brown, not long after they exchanged vows in 1990. However, as he mentioned to her during their move to Flagstaff in 2018, “This will be a good time for us to start anew,” Kody gave the impression that he would work on their issues. Meri explained during the Sept. 15 premiere that these were promises Kody had made before, and this is just another instance of his long-standing pattern of behavior.
She expressed her primary concern as being his poor communication, specifically about his true feelings, desires, and aversions, as well as the narrative he has maintained throughout their relationship.
Kody admitted that there might have been some confusing signals, but this confusion arose when he began working on projects, and he found himself questioning, “What is the point of doing this?” He clarified that at this stage, he wouldn’t pursue courting or dating her anymore.
Either way, Meri’s friends were thrilled when she finally pulled the plug in early 2023.
She admitted, “They essentially said, ‘We’re here for you, we’re on your side. And it’s high time,'” she confessed. With her blinders off, she now realizes that he had been trying to encourage her to leave him for years by emphasizing that he didn’t love her, “Because if I could be made to depart and I did, he wouldn’t appear as the villain because he didn’t walk away.
A number of years had passed since the family acquired a 14-acre plot for building in Flagstaff, Arizona, but in the season opener, Kody admitted that he was ready to abandon their dream. Since they hadn’t managed to pay off the entire $820,000 cost (which reports say they settled in 2023), Kody expressed his desire to either abandon or sell it and begin anew elsewhere, to Robyn Brown.
As for Robyn, “I can’t talk about that,” she responded. “That is so not where I’m at.”
Previously, Janelle Brown shared with TopMob News that the relationship between them was gradually drifting apart. However, it was Kody’s shortcomings as a parent towards some of their children that ultimately led to her decision to part ways.
In simpler terms, the mom shared with Logan Brown, Madison Brown Brush, Hunter Brown, Garrison Brown, Gabriel Brown, and Savanah Brown that a major turning point for her was when his bond with her children deteriorated and he didn’t appear to make significant efforts to repair it. She added, “That’s what kept me here, but then I realized it.
The reason Kody didn’t put more effort into fixing the strained relationships with some of his grown-up kids, was what he shared as an explanation.
In the September 15th episode, he expressed his feelings of not belonging to the family anymore. Despite being legally married to Robyn and jointly raising their five children – Dayton Brown, Aurora Brown, Breanna Brown, Solomon Brown, and Ariella Brown – he also mentioned having occasional relationships with some other kids. Feeling disconnected from everyone, he questioned, “What’s my place in all of this? It doesn’t feel like a family.
In the 19th season’s debut, Robyn admitted that their marriage was experiencing its most challenging period despite it being their first true monogamous phase together, lasting 14 years. She explained, “Things have been hard between us. He’s unsure if he should blame himself or one of the other wives. Kody is feeling a great deal of rejection and I believe he’s questioning whether I’ll reject him too.
As a consequence, she disclosed, “I’m constantly alert and vigilant to prevent him from undermining our relationship.” The most challenging aspect, she concluded: “There’s no support available for the predicament that I’m still married to a man who’s going through multiple divorces.
As for me, I found myself grappling with a wave of self-doubt, muttering to myself, “I just can’t bring myself to say, ‘Alright, mate. I truly admire you.’
In the October 27th episode, Robyn observed that her ex-sister wives were advancing into a fresh chapter of life. She commented, “They’re all progressing,” and felt as if she was the one who was left out or forgotten in their forward momentum.
Include Madison, Janelle’s oldest child, in the list of kids who aren’t currently interacting with Kody. As mentioned during the premiere, “Maddie hasn’t had any contact with her father,” explained Janelle. “He hasn’t reached out to her, she hasn’t reached out to him, and they don’t have a relationship at this point. In essence, she has cut off ties with both of them.
Janelle pointed out that Kody’s relationship with Maddie’s children, specifically Axel, Evangalynn, and Josephine, seems lukewarm. She expressed that Kody shouldn’t interact much with them unless he’s willing to fully commit.
Consequently, during the September 22 episode, Kody essentially stopped communicating with Maddie and her husband Caleb Brush when the family began to disintegrate significantly.
Ever since Kody’s absence, I’ve been feeling like Maddie is playing the role of a protective mama bear more than ever, as Janelle put it. She’s been expressing her concern that until he establishes a more consistent presence and avoids unnecessary drama, it might be best for us not to involve him in our lives.
Meanwhile, Robyn mentioned that she’s been urging Kody to make amends, she added, “I believe it would also be beneficial for the children to take similar steps.
Currently, Kody appears unwilling to mend the disagreement as he frequently complains that their conversations are merely fueling gossip, growing weary of it.
During their 32nd anniversary celebration, “He hinted that he never truly loved me and felt obligated to marry me,” Meri confided in her friend Brandi during the September 15 premiere. “To which I replied, ‘Kody,’ I said, ‘I know you cared for me.’
And if he didn’t, the mom to Leon Brown said in a confessional, why did he ever propose?
She pondered, “Why would a bachelor decide to marry a spinster, professing love he doesn’t feel, when he could simply declare it? It seems so heartless, to single me out and then say, ‘I’ve chosen you. Now I’ll try to mold my feelings for the next three decades.’
In a personal reflection, Kody expressed: “Now, Meri is leveling some allegations. Well, let her say what she will. I won’t engage in discussing them.
Though, he would share that they never enjoyed a honeymoon period.
On the October 20th broadcast, I emphatically stated that their union was precarious from the start, a conviction borne out of the profound connections I shared with Janelle, Christine, and Robyn.
He admitted he “should have gotten out of the relationship 25 years ago,” but he stayed out of fear, noting, “Leadership will never allow you to marry again if you’re discarding wives.”
In the recent conversation with my former sister wife, Christine Brown, I shared that I find myself at a crossroads regarding Coyote Pass – whether to develop it further or put it up for sale. However, given Kody’s reluctance to discuss the matter, I’ve come to realize that seeking legal advice might be necessary. I believe this is the only way I can possibly persuade him to make a decision about our Arizona property.
Janelle admitted that since she and Kody are not legally married, she doesn’t have any legal grounds to stake a claim on his property. In her own words, “It isn’t as simple as calling a lawyer to file for divorce. The situation is more complex because there’s no legal marriage in place.
Kody prefers not to discuss the Arizona property with Janelle because he now lacks trust in her.
During the September 22nd episode, I emphatically shared in a private moment: “When the time is right, I’ll take care of the property.” I’ve decided to keep the specifics of my actions to myself because I’m fed up with sharing details that get twisted by our fractured family’s rumor mill.
A bit of a pot calling the kettle black, Janelle said in her own interview.
She confided, “He spills secrets as if he were a colander, and what he shared with me about his past relationships and multiple wives left me feeling uneasy, as though it wasn’t meant to be disclosed.
In times past, when their affection for each other was growing rather than waning, they would combine their resources in a common fund.
In a fervent tone, I shared during our September 22 gathering, “I’d go to any length to aid a single soul, and we’d unite in solidarity to bolster the other. That’s been our way for ages, until the past decade or so. Suddenly, it seems, it’s become about personal holdings and everyone wants their own domain.
When Robyn found herself in search of a home in Arizona, everyone came together to help purchase a $1.65 million, five-bedroom property that went on sale in August.
According to Robyn, the plan was for it to benefit the entire family. However, when Janelle proposed that they all share the mortgage, she faced opposition. Kody responded, saying, “‘No, no, we need to safeguard, you understand, protect Robyn’s inheritance,'” as Janelle remembered. Now, since she’s leaving the family, Janelle expressed her wish to receive her fair share of the Coyote Pass earnings and also get back some of the money she invested in Robyn’s house.
But that could be a tough sell.
In Robyn’s words, she expressed, “After working together for such a lengthy period, it’s perplexing. Janelle mentioning she’s due money from them just adds to the confusion. I can’t seem to grasp how to calculate or understand it.
Speaking as a lifestyle advisor, allow me to express my observations regarding our financial situation with Coyote Pass. Frankly, I’ve noticed that while we’re struggling to pay it off, Kody seems to have accumulated other assets such as trailers and home decorations. It’s intriguing, isn’t it? For instance, I can’t help but notice the art adorning Robyn and Kody’s walls. I see these items, just like I’ve spent money on my own possessions. Of course, everyone has their financial habits, and I understand that a good portion of his funds have been directed towards vehicle purchases – a “fleet,” as he put it – and child insurance. It’s all part of managing finances, but it’s essential to strike a balance.
Janelle admitted that she wasn’t clear about how Kody and Robyn managed their finances, but she would often find herself astonished by the beauty of Robyn’s backyard. It was always well-maintained and completed. Additionally, there were always various items at her house, which left Janelle thinking, “Wow. That’s interesting.
Essentially, she explained that he didn’t give importance to her needs or desires, which eventually took its toll on her. Over time, she came to realize this and even her grown-up kids were becoming increasingly frustrated, expressing their disapproval with phrases like, “What on earth, Mom?
Instead, let me rephrase that for you: After her first marriage ended, Robyn became quite cautious when managing her finances.
She confessed during the September 22 episode that she wasn’t good with finances in the past. Her early life experiences were tough, and it was only during her divorce that she learned to budget wisely. Regarding her fellow sister wives, she suggested they may have had different spending priorities than hers.
Currently, during the September 22 episode, Janelle admitted that she and Meri, Robyn, and Kody – parents of Aspyn Brown, Mykelti Brown Padron, Paedon Brown, Gwendlyn Brown, Ysabel Brown, and Truely Brown – gather with their families. However, she mentioned there is little to no interaction between them, and she doesn’t anticipate this situation will improve significantly in the near future.
Speaking about a memorable period in Las Vegas, Kody referred to living with four homes on one cul-de-sac as “the best time of my life.” He expressed that everything ran smoothly during this time, and having Maddie and Caleb around was fantastic. Additionally, he held Caleb dear, considering him almost like family.
However, discord arose in Arizona concerning coronavirus safety measures, and things began to unravel. Similarly, when his marriages dissolved, he lamented that his connections with the children deteriorated as well: “This led to all our relationships turning bitter.
But Christine insisted their were issues well before she announced she was leaving in late 2021.
As I shared during our conversation on September 22nd, these kids had been feeling frustrated long before I bid my farewell. It seems their bond with Kody wasn’t altered by my departure. There’s still a chance for Kody to mend those broken ties with his offspring.
Though it’ll definitely take some work.
Kody shared, “I’m still deeply upset about the way I’ve been perceived because of what my wife or ex-wife is saying about me. I can’t move past it, and I don’t want to accept blame for things I didn’t do. I pray for the day when our resentment fades, so we can rediscover forgiveness and love.
At the age of 21 and 19, Kody admitted that he and Meri were not particularly well acquainted when they got married, both spiritually and legally. Over time, they ended up filing for divorce in 2014, allowing Kody to legally adopt Robyn’s three older children from a previous marriage.
In our wedding, she seemed quite different, and I suspect there were some issues from her past that I wasn’t aware of. At first, I thought I could deal with it. However, as time went on, everything felt like an argument. I can’t continue living in a state where she’s frequently angry with me.
Despite wanting to, he couldn’t depart from the relationship. Kody, a man in a plural marriage, explained that if one wishes to remain faithful and devoted, divorce is not an option. It’s forbidden. Consequently, I was unable to escape this bond. Simultaneously, I didn’t long for an exit from the relationship. Instead, I yearned to understand if we could salvage and mend it.
Consequently, he admitted that Meri believed they could resolve their issues. However, whenever they were in each other’s company, Kody stated that “She wasn’t pleasant, she wasn’t amusing, she wasn’t considerate, she wasn’t engaging. I’m trying to be intrigued by her, but I’m growing tired.
He acknowledged that it was understandable for Meri to feel neglected, yet he clarified, “However, none of them forced me out; instead, it was their decision to let me depart from our shared home.
Even though Janelle and Christine didn’t think it was necessary to formally divorce Kody due to their marriage not being officially recognized, Meri requested a formal separation from their church (a release) in the last quarter of 2022.
In the September 22nd episode, she clarified that all four of us women had a church-sanctioned union with Kody. Since it wasn’t a legal marriage for any of us, we referred to it as a covenant. Now, since none of us are pursuing further marital ties and I don’t want an eternal bond with him if he doesn’t wish the same, I believe it’s appropriate to dissolve this covenant completely. In other words, I feel it’s time for us to part ways on all levels related to our relationship.
Kody was hesitant about the notion, she mentioned, as she didn’t wish to recognize or accept the leadership of the church officials.
Kody clarified his position, saying the harm was so severe that reconciliation is no longer an option. He added that he doesn’t wish to be answerable to this church and its complications before God. As a result, he plans to let Meri have her freedom because if he’s upset with her, it turns into a conflict. He needed her to leave because it took her so long to understand that the situation has been resolved for years.
A 2021 holiday gift exchange conversation took an unpleasant turn for the 18 Brown family members. As Christine explained, “Things escalated, things went wrong.” The group consisting of Kody, Robyn, and their children stood on one side, while Janelle, me, and our kids were excluded. This text thread resulted in a division within the family.
According to Robyn, her older children found the interaction to be “uncomfortable emotionally,” and expressed the need for some distance in their relationship. However, she clarified that it wasn’t a matter of wanting to cut ties completely or reject further contact, but rather, as she put it, “It just became messy.
For his part, Gabriel is hoping that they could find their way back to each other.
“The thing I want most is to just have a relationship with Robyn’s children again,” he confessed in the Oct. 13 episode. “In middle school, Aurora was my favorite person to hang out with. And in high school, I would always try to hit Dayton up. But I’m, I’m not hopeful for a relationship with Dad And Robyn.”
Aurora emphasized that she was explicitly informed on various occasions by different individuals, that she was not welcomed as part of the family when her mother married Kody in 2010. They made it clear to her that she wasn’t their sister and they didn’t perceive or acknowledge her in that role.
Her sister Breanna expressed that she believed the parents might have made more effort to bring our family closer together, but unfortunately, this connection was never fully established.
But Christine isn’t sure how they could have opened their arms any wider.
Robyn’s children and Robyn themselves were always invited to every event,” she emphasized. “In essence, they are more than welcome to drop by our home whenever it suits them.
Meanwhile, she mentioned, her daughter Ysabel Brown shared a strong bond with Robyn’s children. In fact, Mykelti Brown Padron lived with them for a while. She explained, “There were challenging periods and my kids felt irritated at times, but they viewed Robyn’s kids as their siblings just as closely.
Janelle praised the freedom she experienced in plural marriages, commenting, “When it’s working well, you become an integral part of this extraordinary family system, connected to a supportive community. You maintain a strong bond with your spouse, and yet you also retain all your personal independence. To me, that’s what makes plural marriage such a wonderful arrangement.
According to Janelle’s account, Kody found it more challenging to distribute his affection when the family relocated from Las Vegas to Arizona in 2018.
During the September 29th episode, it was mentioned that when Kody relocated to Flagstaff, he found it more convenient for him to stay away. On a few occasions, she had to remind him that he should visit her place. He would often avoid coming by claiming exhaustion, but she pointed out, “I understand you’re tired. But you can rest just as effectively at my house as you can at Robyn’s.
As a devoted follower, I can express it this way: My children were often reprimanded if they dared to peek inside Robyn’s refrigerator. For me, the problem was not just that Robyn and my husband were a couple, but rather the fact that he wasn’t physically present in our home.
And Robyn said her crew definitely felt the divide.
In her September 29 appearance, she mentioned that Meri was welcoming towards my children and myself, but the rest of the family found it difficult to accept us. She expressed that our primary desire was to become a part of their family.
However, Gabriel contends that he and his brothers and sisters made significant efforts to welcome them into their group.
In the Oct. 13 episode, he expressed his belief that Robyn seems to exhibit a pattern of feeling like a victim, which he described as a “victim complex.” However, he doesn’t hold her responsible for this. Instead, he suggests that everyone has their own ways of coping and surviving, and Robyn might have developed this specific strategy.
Yet, he added, “If it is truly her conviction that we mistreated her or her children, despite the fact that she was often favored by Dad and we were consistently working on our bond with her kids, if she genuinely holds this belief, then there’s no possibility of me having a relationship with Robyn anymore.
During a September 29 episode, Kody described how the frequent moving between four households impacted his eighteen children, citing an instance when his and Robyn’s youngest daughter Ariella, born in January 2016, became distraught and clung tightly to him as he was about to depart.
In my role as a lifestyle advisor, I find myself often in difficult positions. I recently found myself having to convey, “There are other wives and mothers who require my attention, other children needing to see me.” It’s heartbreaking when one of them clings to me, begging, “Don’t leave me, Daddy, don’t leave me,” while I’m compelled to move on. This situation can be incredibly challenging for me.
Unfortunately, that’s just a reality of plural marriage, insisted Janelle.
She clarified from the start, her children “understood” that their father wouldn’t always be present. I’ve often felt that Kody and Robyn mishandled the situation with their kids. He couldn’t be absent for more than a few days due to Ari’s sadness. It seems to me that was irresponsible parenting. Throughout family history, the other children managed without issues, and they’ve grown into well-adjusted adults.
Among the limited number of children from the Brown family, Mykelti found herself maintaining relationships with not only Robyn and Kody, but also Christine and Janelle throughout Kody’s divorce processes. In this capacity, Mykelti served as a mediator or peacemaker within her family during these challenging times.
From the instant Robyn joined the Brown clan, Mykelti extended an invitation for her to be present during the delivery of her twins in November 2022 – specifically, Archer and Ace.
During the September 29th episode, Mykelti shared that when Robyn initially became part of our family, I was still trying to discover my identity. Robyn made me feel unique and understood, she was a beacon of comfort and acceptance for me. When I needed someone, Robyn was there. She was there for me during my moments of need, offering a listening ear and showering me with love.
Christine’s motherly joy knew no bounds when Robyn joined their family and it was evident that she and Mykelti shared a strong bond. During the episode on Oct. 6, Christine expressed her feelings by saying, “I had always hoped for this – a harmonious plural family where my children would develop close relationships with other mothers. And I am so glad to see that dream becoming a reality.
Kody believes it’s not just his wives who are intentionally excluding him from their lives as a form of punishment for a crime he did not commit. He expressed this during the October 6 episodes, sharing his perspective on his strained relationship with some of his older children. According to him, he is merely guilty of not having deeply fallen in love with their mothers.
What’s more, he continued, he think his former spouses are a bit to blame.
He expressed that the strain in his relationships with his kids is predominantly in his own mind due to negative comments, put simply. He added that there’s a storm of disillusionment from the family splitting up, and it often feels as though, ‘Ah, the fault lies with Dad. Dad made mistakes.’
However, although he accepts some responsibility for the situation, he strongly dislikes being insulted. Notably, he admitted that he had trouble bonding with Hunter, Maddie, and Gabriel. Kody divulged that one of his children replied to a text message by calling him “worthless,” adding that they would never speak to him again regardless.
On another occasion, he expressed to the cameras, “One of my children recently said, ‘You are unkind. I will no longer speak to you. You have deceived me and influenced my thoughts negatively.’
He’s unwilling to keep addressing the issue with venom. “I won’t stretch out my hand indefinitely,” he stated, pointing out that he believes his elders should take a more active role in resolving matters. “I’m ready to extend an olive branch,” he continued, “but someone else needs to reciprocate and make some effort as well.
For Robyn, watching Kody’s estrangement from his adult children hit far too close to home.
During the Oct. 6 episode, she shared that her parents divorced when she was young. At that time, her father lived with another woman in a different city, while her mother lived alone. She recounted confronting her biological father about his absence, asking him questions like “What happened? Why weren’t you there for me?” He only provided flimsy explanations, which left her feeling disappointed and upset because he wasn’t present during her childhood years.
Instead of letting Kody’s wounded feelings deter him, she made it clear that she was struggling not to lose a bit of respect for him, as she expressed during their heated argument that occurred towards the end of 2022.
Although Kody admitted that he could put in more effort to repair his relationship with his children, he stressed that healing his own heart is a prerequisite for this process.
He expressed his frustration, stating, “Some of my children seem to be conspiring against me. I’m so upset about the situation that when I interact with them, I fear they might accuse me, which could lead me to react impulsively and potentially make things worse.
Despite a large turnout from the family at the wedding of Logan, Janelle and Kody’s eldest, to Michelle Petty in October 2022, there seemed to be little affection expressed among them.
In the October 6th episode, Kody voiced his displeasure to Robyn, stating that he had noticed Madison hurriedly taking her children away from him, implying they were trying to avoid him. He mentioned that he hadn’t been informed about Madison’s pregnancy with their third child, daughter Josephine, who was born in February 2023. Essentially, Kody said Madison didn’t inform him she was expecting a baby.
Frankly, Maddie doesn’t tell her dad much of anything with the two rarely speaking.
Janelle clarified that her daughter Maddie hasn’t interacted with Kody because of her strong guardianship over her children. Kody hasn’t been around since Evie was born, who is now three-and-a-half years old, and Maddie didn’t want him to suddenly appear at the wedding as if he were their grandfather, causing confusion among the kids with his unexpected presence.
From my perspective as a devoted admirer, I’d say it’s impractical to expect grandparents to be present in their grandkids’ lives round the clock, given the circumstances like moving one’s children to another coast entirely. For me, based in Flagstaff, work and personal commitments keep me busy.
It seems that Kody and his grown-up kids hold contrasting perspectives regarding their current estrangement, with a notable disagreement being Kody’s insistence on an apology or acknowledgment of wrongdoing from his side.
Following the end of the COVID-related concerns, we resumed our daily routines but couldn’t fully mend as a family due to Kody’s feelings that his sons owed him and Robyn an apology, particularly Robyn. As this issue evolved, Kody expressed that all they needed was a heart-to-heart conversation with him.” – Janelle explained in the October 13 episode.
In response, Janelle explained that Kody was upset because he felt his children hadn’t been faithful to him, adding, “and the most cherished member of this family, who has given so much love and devotion, has been treated unkindly or faced some nonsense like that.” She responded, “‘Well, Kody, whatever you say.’
Gabriel expressed a similar sentiment, narrating an interaction with his father. “He repeatedly suggested that I should apologize to him,” he told Janelle. “Finally, I said, ‘Unless you’re genuinely prepared to mend our relationship and make amends, we won’t converse anymore.’ A few days later, he contacted me again via text. He wrote, ‘Hey, I’ve been contemplating your words. I forgive you, Please extend forgiveness to me.’ My response was, ‘Forgive me for what?’
Kody, one of six children he shares with Janelle, primarily interacts with his youngest child, Savanah. Although it’s not frequent, approximately every two months he contacts her and they spend time together. The remaining children do not maintain a significant relationship with him.
Regarding Savannah, who graduated from high school in 2023, it can be said that her four elder brothers have assumed a paternal role in her life. In fact, she has openly shared with Janelle her intention of asking her siblings to escort her during her wedding one day.
According to Janelle, she has discussed the matter with Savanah, and Savanah expressed, “Well, I’ve come to understand that this is his nature.” She added, “‘He’ll be a type of dad who will join us for fun and then leave. I can adapt to his lifestyle. It’s acceptable.
Janelle, however, is less forgiving.
She expressed her disappointment with Kody, saying, “I’m really fed up with him,” she admitted. “You see, I’ve observed similar situations in the past. Many women I know, whom I’ve worked with, divorced and then the children’s fathers just disappeared from their lives.
Initially, the strain between them, as described by Janelle, was that “Gabriel found it particularly tough since Kody often invited Gabriel along on his work travels.” She further explained that Kody had been a very hands-on father until quite recently.
Although Gabriel is puzzled about what might have made his father angry, during the October 13th episode, he expressed, “I told Dad that if he doesn’t transform and can’t admit fault, then I won’t visit him anymore. And I’m completely fine with that.
In Janelle’s words, “He’s content with his father not being part of his life, and it’s a wish I hold for all my children to find similar tranquility. I believe they are gradually reaching that point.
For his part, Kody also seems resigned to the situation.
He expressed his regret for how Gabriel feels, adding that he has attempted to reach out to him several times but hasn’t been successful. However, this doesn’t mean he didn’t make an effort in the attempts to connect with him.
In late 2022, Meri was the one who ended her relationship with Kody, following the teachings of their church, by obtaining what is known as a “release” due to feelings of abandonment.
She observed during the October 13 broadcast that he dislikes that particular word since it doesn’t align with his feelings of not having left her. Instead, she feels it was him who departed.
To put it another way, she believes he deliberately avoided interacting with her until she decided to depart, which allowed him to claim innocence by saying, “I have no involvement in this.
And Kody didn’t totally deny that he had a bit of a strategy.
He admitted he had already moved on a while back, but in all honesty, he was scared of her reaction if he ended the relationship abruptly. After all, Meri had never been loyal to him throughout their marriage, and that’s what concerned him most. It’s mostly about his reputation since getting divorced can tarnish one’s image.
Instead, alleged Meri, it was hers that was being tarnished.
She expressed, “It’s truly disheartening how Kody speaks about our marriage these days. It seems his perspective on our relationship has shifted, yet the claims he makes about me to others that people are accepting don’t align with reality.
Before Christina parted ways with Kody, it became apparent that they were not well-suited according to paper assessments, as suggested by the marriage and family therapist based in Las Vegas.
Christine penned down a list detailing qualities she desired in her future husband, such as excellent communication skills, a person who would actively participate in her life and that of her children, and someone who found her appealing. However, Kody didn’t possess any of these traits, as she candidly shared during the October 20th episode, saying, “Kody doesn’t fit any of the qualities I listed,” and when she presented him with the list, he admitted, “I don’t match up for you in those areas.
The letter played a significant role in helping her realize swiftly that David Woolley was indeed her match.
She enthusiastically shared that family holds the utmost significance for this widowed father of eight. Known for his integrity, he runs a successful drywall business. His genuine and open nature, coupled with excellent communication skills, have earned him widespread respect.
