As a long-time horror enthusiast who has survived countless sleepovers watching late-night slasher flicks, I am absolutely giddy with anticipation for this year’s Six Flags Fright Fest! The Texas Chainsaw Massacre haunted house based on the 2022 Netflix and Legendary Entertainment film is a dream come true for any horror hound like myself.
2022’s Six Flags Fright Fest promises to surpass all previous Halloween celebrations with its impressive lineup of immersive experiences drawn from iconic Hollywood films. Among the much-anticipated haunted houses is one themed around this year’s Texas Chainsaw Massacre, for which Six Flags has recently revealed details and concept art to build excitement. The Texas Chainsaw Massacre haunted house will debut at Six Flags Great Adventure and Six Flags Over Texas in September, with Fright Fest running until November 3rd.
“We’re excited to join forces with Six Flags for the inaugural haunted maze event based on Netflix and Legendary’s Texas Chainsaw Massacre, happening this year at Fright Fest. Brace yourself for an exhilarating, pulse-racing journey where fear and excitement will be relentless!” – Amado Trevino, Director of Interactive Media & Experiences at Legendary Entertainment, announced in a statement.
In a secluded part of Texas, shrouded in mystery, a chilling past lurks. People might dismiss it as an old timer’s tale, but some understand the eerie truth hidden beneath: the specter of madness has resurfaced, and Leatherface is back. In this fresh experience inspired by the 2022 Netflix & Legendary Entertainment’s Texas Chainsaw Massacre, visitors are welcomed as newcomers to Harlow, following the footsteps of influencers aiming to revitalize the town. Unbeknownst to them, the decaying facade hides a terrifying secret: a monstrous entity haunts Harlow, and your presence has provoked it into a murderous rampage. As guests explore Harlow, they will encounter pivotal scenes from the movie, such as the barn, sunflower field, the ‘crawl of death’ and ‘dead street,’ culminating in an intense showdown with one of horror’s most infamous killers: Leatherface.
As a lifelong horror enthusiast, I can confidently say that this year’s Fright Fest is shaping up to be an unforgettable experience for me. The opportunity to step into the chilling worlds of Netflix’s Stranger Things and Army of the Dead, Legendary Entertainment’s Trick R’Treat, Lionsgate’s SAW, and Warner Bros./New Line’s The Conjuring universe is a dream come true. These franchises have been staples in my horror-loving life, providing countless hours of thrills and chills that I will cherish forever. I can hardly wait to immerse myself in these iconic settings and feel the adrenaline rush as I navigate their terrifying landscapes. Fright Fest, you’ve outdone yourself this year!
Attractions vary by location, so be sure to check the official Six Flags website for details.
