Skate Development Progress Showcased With February 2025 Playtest Highlights Video

Full Circle Developer is showcasing their advancements in creating ‘Skate’ with a fresh video, containing clips from their latest playtest in February. The video, linked below, offers a good amount of gameplay footage and gives a peek at some of the game’s multiplayer features.

Based on the video, it appears that progress on Skate is advancing smoothly. In contrast to earlier highlight videos filled with unfinished textures and rough models, this latest one showcases a significant level of refinement. Furthermore, the fundamental gameplay seems nearly complete, as the diverse array of tricks performed by multiple players suggests.

As an avid spectator, I’ve been amazed by the diverse array of stunts these players pull off. They execute an assortment of rail grinds in distinctive styles, not to mention a variety of flips and grab tricks that leave me in awe!

The video effectively demonstrates the high degree of personalization players can enjoy within the game. Each player in the video appears distinct due to unique clothing and styles they sport, reflecting individuality. Moreover, it suggests that skateboards can also be customized, offering a variety of colors and design options.

The game “Skate” hasn’t been given a specific launch date yet, but it was previously mentioned by the studio that it might become available through Early Access sometime in 2025. For quite some time now, playtests for the PC version of “Skate” have been underway. Interestingly, the studio also revealed earlier this year that console players would be given the opportunity to join the fun as well.

During a question-and-answer session, the team revealed that they would be conducting console playtests. When queried about the current situation regarding playtests for Skate on consoles, they replied that it will happen shortly.

At present, potential players can register for the playtests via the game’s main site. It’s important to mention that the studio is being choosy about who gets invited to these playtests, so not everyone who signs up will necessarily be chosen. However, the development team has stated that this selection process is ongoing and they aim to involve more players in the playtesting phase in the future.

The game titled Skate is planned for release as a free-to-play option, emphasizing multiplayer interactions, social features, and extensive character customization. Last year, Full Circle shared details on the character customization aspects of the game through a developer’s diary video.

Besides various aspects, skaters can customize their characters’ appearance, including their height, body structure, and additional attributes. An assortment of attire is also provided, allowing players to showcase their individuality effectively. This includes a wide variety of tops, bottoms, eyewear, and even socks.

In line with authentic skateboarding lifestyle, the game Skate will incorporate real-world brands within its variety of clothing options for players. Regarding skateboards, players can customize their design by adding graphics and decals, and even modify colors for different components.

In June 2024, a trailer for the game Skate was released, showcasing some early, early gameplay footage. This trailer included a comedic segment featuring M-Corp, linking it to previous games within the series.
