As a die-hard fan, I’m thrilled to share that the talented skateboarder Tyshawn Jones will be featured in an updated version of the iconic Tony Hawk video game! He revealed this exciting news during his recent chat on Power 105.1 FM’s The Breakfast Club.
Speaking about upcoming skateboarding video games, Jones mentioned, “It’s like a new Tony Hawk game is being released, which is great—they’re remastering an old one, so it’ll soon be available. I was also part of the last one, that is Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2.”
The newest addition to the Tony Hawk video game franchise, “Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2,” initially released on September 4, 2020 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC via Epic Games Store. Afterward, it became available on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series on March 26, 2021, Nintendo Switch on June 25, 2021, and lastly on Steam for PC on October 3, 2023.
Back in June 2022, I (Tony Hawk) announced that we were working on a remastered version of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 and 4 following the successful release of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2. However, things took an unexpected turn when our developers at Vicarious Visions got absorbed by Blizzard Entertainment. At that time, I expressed my hope to revive the project, stating, “I wish there was some way to bring it back. Who knows? Maybe once the dust settles, we’ll find a solution.”
