Skull and Bones Kicks Off Year 2 Season 1 With Major Content Update

Ubisoft has disclosed information about their plans for the second year of content for the multiplayer pirate game, Skull and Bones, which they’ve named Year 2 Season 1. This new update offers a wealth of fresh content as well as an advancement in the main storyline. Take a look at the demonstration video below.

As we enter the second year of the game Skull and Bones, there will be a refreshing change with a new season start. This means that players are allowed to transfer a maximum of 50,000 Pieces of Eight from the previous season to the next one.

Regarding the plot, Season 1 of Year 2 in Skull and Bones continues immediately after the events of Season 4 in Year 1, as rumors circulate about the DMC aiming to enhance its influence in the Indian Ocean. In this new chapter, players will find themselves amidst an escalating arms race between the DMC and the Compagnie, both vying for dominance over the Indian Ocean. Simultaneously, there’s also the intriguing development of advanced technology brewing in the background, which could significantly impact the outcome of the war.

One significant addition to the recent update for Skull and Bones is the Item Enhancement called Ascension. Once players reach Infamy Level 9, they will receive the mission entitled “Ascension and Upgrade”. Completing this mission guides them to the Blacksmith where they can enable this new function. With it, players can upgrade their weapons with fresh modifications. The enhancements come in three tiers: Basic, Advanced, and Elite.

Advancing an object grants it a Modification Space, making it a potent asset for players during their quests within the game.

If you’re looking for a tougher experience in the game “Skull and Bones”, a new World Tier system has been introduced. The initial world is now considered World Tier 1. As you progress and achieve the Kingpin Infamy Tier, you can advance to World Tier 2: Cutthroat Seas for increased difficulty.

In World Tier 2, you’ll encounter higher challenges, but the rewards will be more substantial too! You’ll find an enhanced amount of loot and resources across multiple activities such as world events, ships, and towers when you play at this tier.

In the game, a fresh vessel type has been introduced: the Schooner. This ship becomes accessible once you advance through 45 tiers in the Smuggler Pass. The Schooner is a mid-sized watercraft, primarily designed for inflicting explosive damage. Its standout feature is Fury, an ability that amplifies both the damage and explosive impact of cannon broadsides when triggered. At Ship Upgrade Rank 6, you can also unlock a secondary perk called Volatile, which escalates explosive damage while simultaneously shortening weapon reload times.

The “Honorless” is an upcoming limited-time event that starts on May 6 and ends on June 10. During this event, players can engage in battles against the main character, the Honorless, to earn valuable prizes from the event vendor. These rewards include the epic Bombard (Divine Wind), the epic Demi-Cannon (Kleine Kartouwe), and the rare minor furniture piece called Fuse-Fusing Station.

The game titled “Skull and Bones” can be played on PCs, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. To learn more about this game, take a look at our review that was published during its initial release.
