As a long-time gamer and animation enthusiast, I’m thrilled to hear about Skybound’s new reality TV series aimed at discovering animation talent. With their successful track record in the animation industry, particularly with shows like “Invincible,” it’s exciting to see them investing in the next generation of animators.
As an ardent fan, I’m thrilled to share that Skybound, the powerhouse behind my beloved shows “The Walking Dead” and “Invincible,” is embarking on a new adventure: a reality TV series aimed at discovering fresh animation talent! This exciting project will be a collaborative effort with DIGA Studios, known for producing hit shows like “Million Dollar Beach House” and MTV’s “Scream.” The goal? To unearth the next big name in animation through a competition-style series. The specifics of the show’s format (and even its title) are still under wraps. However, given Skybound’s recent acquisition of Spike & Mike’s Festival of Animation – a renowned celebration of animated shorts – it’s safe to assume that the series will be closely linked to this esteemed event, set to relaunch soon. Can’t wait to see what magical talents will emerge from this innovative collaboration!
According to The Hollywood Reporter, this new project from Skybound’s unscripted content division, headed by Brent Jacoby, was announced. They mentioned that Jacoby and his team aim to discover potential cast members for their reality show among the over 1,000 applicants of Spike & Mike’s Festival of Animation.
I’m thrilled to share that Spike & Mike’s Festival of Animation is making a comeback at this week’s San Diego Comic-Con! According to The Hollywood Reporter, they’ll be screening some archival material for us animation fans. And you know what? Skybound will also be in attendance. I can hardly wait!
I’ve been thrilled by Skybound’s impressive track record in animation, particularly with their hit show “Invincible.” With its raw, dynamic visuals and poignant moments of emotion, it has captured both viewers and critics. Although they didn’t handle the animation process themselves for “Super Dinosaur,” the collaboration between Skybound and Spin Master in 2018/2019 still resulted in an engaging animated series.
In addition to managing popular titles like “The Walking Dead,” “Invincible,” and “Super Dinosaur,” Skybound Productions has kept a full workload. They have produced various spin-off series of “The Walking Dead,” the film “Renfield,” the shows “Outcast” and “PSI Cops.” In the realm of comics, Skybound has made a significant impact, publishing not only Robert Kirkman’s works but also numerous independent titles in the market. Furthermore, they have introduced a young readers line called Skybound Comet, and more recently, a best-selling Hasbro tie-in line, named “The Energon Universe.” Under this brand, they have released critically and financially successful comics based on characters from G.I. Joe, Transformers, and other franchises.
