In a cozy, everyday style, “Please Be Happy” is a visual novel that unfolds in an imaginary Wellington, New Zealand setting.
Originating as a fox in Korea’s woodland, Miho bears the recollection of a benevolent wanderer who imparted tales of home. Transformed more into human than fox, Miho has embarked on a lengthy quest to discover her true self. She lands by airship in Wellington, one of New Zealand’s precious gems nestled high above the ocean on its floating island.
Although she’s had plenty of time studying humans, she’s yet to grasp many aspects of their culture and society. So far, she’s been surviving by using her acute senses to outwit people and steal from them. Her life experiences have exposed her to much of humanity’s darker side.
After encountering Juliet, a kind-hearted proprietor of a small library, and Aspen, a budding author, Miho begins to grasp the essence of kindness and discovers that people are not merely defined by their negative aspects.
