Smile 2 trailer, starring Naomi Scott, terrifies with jump scares galore

As a seasoned horror enthusiast who has braved countless chilling nightmares on the silver screen, I must say that the trailer for Smile 2 left me absolutely petrified – and excited!

In the year 2022, when the horror movie “Smile” was initially released, it surpassed predictions, turning into a blockbuster sensation and earning more than $200 million globally.

The film was equally appreciated by critics, earning an 80% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Not surprisingly, a follow-up titled “Smile 2” has been announced, with a sneak peek available now through the recently unveiled trailer.

In the final scene of the movie, the main character Rose succumbed to the curse, setting herself ablaze as if she had passed it onto her former partner, Joel, portrayed by Kyle Gallner.

In this sequel, we’re introduced to Skye Riley, a popular musician, who, as shown in the preview, finds herself falling victim to a mysterious curse.

As global pop superstar Skye Riley (played by Naomi Scott) prepares for her upcoming world tour, she starts encountering unexplained and alarming incidents.

Struggling with the growing atrocities and demands of stardom, Skye finds herself compelled to confront her troubled history in order to reclaim her life from slipping away.

In addition to Scott, the movie’s ensemble features Rosemarie DeWitt, Lukas Gage, Miles Gutierrez-Riley, Peter Jacobson, Ray Nicholson, Dylan Gelula, and Raúl Castillo.

The upcoming movie shares the same universe and timeline as the original, but presents a unique narrative. Actors like Gallner reprise their roles, with him playing Joel once more.

Recently, I found myself expressing some genuine apprehension when discussing the filming of our movie on SiriusXM. The set was a nerve-wracking place for me.

“He expressed that it was incredibly unsettling, as he had never before felt real fear on a film set. In fact, during one scene, his discomfort became physical, causing him to feel nauseous. He hadn’t anticipated this reaction. The scene was just so gruesome and revolting… he ended up vomiting off-camera.”

He continued: “It’s legitimately that scary. I’m not even just lying. I’ve never been on something that truly terrified me. The crew is terrified filming because, I don’t know, (writer/director) Parker Finn knows that genre so well.”

Movie titled “Smile 2” will hit theaters on October 18th, 2024. Currently, you can stream the original “Smile” on Netflix for as low as £4.99 a month. Additionally, Netflix is accessible through platforms like Sky Glass and Virgin Media Stream.
