Smiling Friends Season 3 Release Window Reportedly Revealed

I’ve been watching with delight as The Smiling Friends swiftly ascended the ranks among Adult Swim’s newest animated character bands. Charlie, Pim, Alan, Mr. Boss, and their colleagues have been tirelessly spreading smiles in a series of bizarre situations. As we bid farewell to season two last year, fans of Cartoon Network have eagerly anticipated the comeback of these outlandish characters. A recent leak suggests that Adult Swim Canada could be dishing out details about when we can anticipate season three’s arrival, and it seems like the wait might not be as prolonged as you may think.

According to a recent announcement from Corus Entertainment, one of Canada’s leading media and entertainment companies, it has been confirmed that “Smiling Friends” will air its third season this fall. Normally, Adult Swim shows don’t premiere earlier in Canada than in the US. This suggests that the characters Charlie and Pim might make their American debut as early as this fall. Corus’s statement was straightforward: “Meanwhile, ‘Smiling Friends’ returns for Season 3 this fall.” Additionally, the report disclosed that “Regular Show: The Lost Tapes” and “Robot Chicken: Self Discovery Special” are upcoming additions to their programming schedule.

Smiling Friends at Annecy

Though fans may have to wait several months for the release of “Smiling Friends” season three, attendees of the Annecy International Animation Film Festival will get a sneak preview. The event takes place in less than a week, on June 11th, and will gather the show’s creators to discuss its production and upcoming season. Join Michael Cusack and Zach Hadel, series Co-Creators, for an exclusive backstage look at the popular Adult Swim series, as they share insights into the making of the hit show and reveal a sneak peek of the upcoming third season.

Lately, our team over at egmr.ru had the pleasure of speaking with co-creator Michael Cusack about the progress of the upcoming season. Since we’ve had two seasons under our belt, we have a deeper understanding of the characters now. Things are moving smoothly. I’m making an effort not to reveal any spoilers, but I won’t because I take my profession seriously. However, I can assure you that everything is going exceptionally well. Zach [Hadel] and I are working on the script, and we’re already in production. The fact that YOLO doesn’t slow things down at all allows me to switch between projects swiftly. So, everything is progressing smoothly.

reminiscent of “Rick and Morty,” “Smiling Friends” has been making waves in Adult Swim’s ratings. In 2024, the viewership for Charlie and Pim’s second season surpassed that of their first by a significant twenty-eight percent, which bodes well for the longevity of this Cartoon Network show on the network.
