Smokey Robinson is denying the allegations brought against him.
A lawyer representing the renowned musician issued a rebuttal against the allegations made by four ex-housekeepers who claim that Robinson, aged 85, sexually assaulted them.
In the course of this ongoing case, attorney Christopher Frost stated to NBC News that as the proceedings unfold, it will become evident that this is merely a despicable attempt to extort $50 million from an 85-year-old American icon, using underhanded means.
In his words, Frost described the court proceedings as “unusual dramas” and claimed that the lawyers representing the plaintiff were attempting to rope in the general public unknowingly as part of the sensationalized spectacle they aim to construct.
As an ardent follower, I eagerly await the court’s decision on dismissing this lawsuit. Meanwhile, I implore everyone keeping tabs on this case to withhold judgment until all facts are revealed. Rest assured, we will be tackling the parts of the complaint that strain credulity and addressing matters concerning questionable timelines, inconsistencies, and connections between the plaintiffs and others.
In a lawsuit, NBC News and TopMob News have obtained and reviewed, four women – who have chosen to remain anonymous and are referred to as Jane Doe – allege that William Robinson (real name Robinson) frequently sexually assaulted and raped them during the time they worked as housekeepers.
Beyond the accusations of sexual misconduct, the lawsuit also contends that a hostile work environment was established by Robinson’s spouse through the inappropriate use of racially offensive words and language. Furthermore, it claims that the couple failed to meet minimum wage requirements, neglected to compensate for overtime hours, and did not provide mandated rest or meal breaks.
In my role as a lifestyle expert, I’d like to clarify the legal stand of the parties involved in this case. The plaintiffs are requesting a substantial sum of $50 million in general damages to compensate for any harm suffered. Additionally, they are seeking special damages, punitive damages, prejudgment interest, and “further relief,” which will be determined by the court during the upcoming trial. This means that the specific amounts for each category will be decided upon after all evidence is presented and the case is deliberated.

The lawsuit claims that each of the four complainants were reluctant to inform the authorities about Smokey Robinson’s illegal actions because they were scared of losing their income, potential retaliation from family members, public humiliation, embarrassment, and a sense of shame on themselves and their families. Additionally, they felt intimidated and threatened by Robinson’s high-profile status.
The lawsuit further claims that Frances Robinson, the wife of “You’ve Really Got a Hold on Me” singer, did not take sufficient steps to stop Defendant Robinson’s inappropriate behavior, even though she was aware of his previous instances of sexual misconduct. Moreover, it is alleged that she had settled cases with other women who had endured similar sexual assaults at the hands of him.
Beyond accusations of sexual misconduct, the lawsuit also contends that a hostile work environment was established through the use of racially derogatory words and speech by Robinson’s wife. It further claims that the couple failed to meet minimum wage requirements, neglected to compensate for overtime hours, and did not offer rest or meal breaks as required.
The parties bringing the lawsuit are asking for a total of $50 million in regular compensation, along with specific damages, penalty damages, pre-trial interest, and additional remedies. The exact amounts for these last three will be decided by the court during the trial.
