As a seasoned veteran of World War II, having survived countless battles and witnessed the horrors of war firsthand, I must say that I am intrigued by the arrival of Harry Hawker in the spotlight for Sniper Elite: Resistance. Having fought alongside Karl Fairburne in the past, it’s refreshing to see a new perspective on the ongoing fight against the Nazis.
In every installment of the “Sniper Elite” series, the lead character has been Karl Fairburne from the OSS. But in “Sniper Elite: Resistance”, there’s a twist as Harry Hawker takes center stage instead. You might remember him assisting Fairburne in taking down the Afrika Korps in Sniper Elite 3. Now, he’s stepping into the limelight again, this time in Southern France, with the mission to prevent the Nazis from creating a new superweapon.
In their latest video, Rebellion’s lead designer Ben Fisher and chief artist Simon Ible delve deeper into the character of Hawker, revealing his cool, determined, and relentless nature. Known to be adaptable and resourceful, he stops at nothing in his quest to vanquish the Nazis. Should a plan fail, Hawker remains unfazed, always finding an alternative route to success.
The narrative unfolds alongside Sniper Elite 5, setting off in Southern France during World War II. Although famous for D-Day, the region is rife with ongoing conflicts. Players explore various destinations like the Alps, vineyards, chateaus, and other locations to eliminate Nazi forces.
On January 30th, 2025, Sniper Elite: Resistance will be released on Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and PC. Owners of the Deluxe Edition can enjoy early access from January 28th along with a Season Pass that offers three post-launch DLC packs.
